    well i didn't miss it; when I try to log on now, it asks for a cd key

    You missed it bro it was this weekend and gamespot gave away free keys for your account to let you now play on the beta weekends and it looks like you missed the key too. Your only chance of participating in the next upcoming beta weekends now is to pre-order the game.

    Don't worry, you didn't actually miss very much.  Maybe a half hour of enjoyment.  I could be doing an injustice here though, I played on my own, or with a group of strangers, with a good guild I guess it could be fun.  And with a name like Guild Wars I'm assuming thats what they were aiming for.

    You can play it now on the weekends for 10 bucks. Sure it's not free, but it's hard to beat that.
