With clans like LOD and many others exploiting the bleep out of the sync issue the server is already compromised. The opening day catered to cheaters and now 13 citys are already claimed. There is no competition any more due to the rocky launch and futher more, we cannot voice our opinions due to the official forums being down. I dont know about you guys, but when i asked my race alliance wether or not they wanted a wipe, 90 percent were all for it.

It will never happen, i promise you.
Besides, i dont want to remake my character seeing as i already have nearly 30 lesser magic and 35 swimming and a couple of skills now in the 20's.
These kind of advantages are going to be present no matter how many times u reset the server someones always going to be pissed about the results.
That is true that these type of problems will occur reguardless of a sync issue or not, but to start a new with no sync issues would allow many other guilds to claim a city the first day due to legit farming.
they have to reset, if they dont I can almost see atleast 5k population drop within the first month. nobody enjoyrs getting slaughtered by the giuild that found the f'ed up spawn.
I could care less about a reset. Not one of the three characters I made today stepped more than a foot from the newbie spawn point.
Very much doubt that.
I would prefer them o fix sync issues so we could capture it from them. Probably hard against some "zerg" alliances, but it can still be done.
I think there should be a wipe. Many people that exploited the sync issue have an unfair advantage to those who didn't. I think the only "fair" thing to do is to wipe the server. It would also appease the people that couldn't even login to the game today for one reason or another.
If you plan to play the game for years to come, who gives a shit about a few hours?
How did they exploid?
because your first month will make or break your game. Look at games like VG, AOC, EQ2, AO, and a few others.
EQ2 is one of the best MMORPGS around
VGs world is second to none.
AOC had great promise and amazing graphics and sound
(never played AO so cant comment)
all of these games share the same commonality, all had a horrific launch, all are great games, but either continued to lose subs, or are tried very hard to make a comeback and are still suffering from their launch.

Agreed. Anarchy Online kind of set the standard for crappy MMO launch though, haha. I never played it at launch but I played the game like 2 years ago and really loved it.
Either way there will be people pissed. There will, in either case be justice for some and injustice for others.
However, wiping the server and starting fresh (it's only been one day) is the only option that allows a fair playing field for all.
Just to play devil's advocate.. Is is fair for the clans that planned and coordinated to wake up to a wiped server?
Nooo, no wipe!
I had a great start. can craft banded armor=)
im for wipe. not only did some people use some glitch to get a couple cities in a very short time, but, this is on top of all the sycn issues and account issues, which totally sucks.
i had pre-ordered and was all set to jump in with my guild and start working towards the money for the city. i couldn't even get in because of account issues and im not the only one.
the point about "just sieging for a city" doesn't make sense because it just takes time to get gold and then claim an uncliamed city when the server is fresh. it takes a lot of work and may not even be possible to get a city if its already taken and defended--especially if they are zerging.
so, the server is now spoiled for people hoping to get a town early through legitimate means and are totally set back because of some sploiters.
wipe would be fair.
to the guy with the stats. if you made that much in the first buggy day, you could make that up after a wipe in no time.
I love those who play devil's advocate. If you'll permit me, I'll return the favor.
Is it fair for clans that planned, coordinated and played in a legitimate fashion to wake up to discover they are out matched by guilds rolling in dough who have walls when you're still working on your bank? Come one week when we're knee deep in sieges and their cities and crafters are deeply progressed... will it be any less unjust to have NOT rolled back the server then?

The unfortunate downside is that, while they may claim a city - they will lose it to a clan with more people in it. May as well just accept that the zerg guilds will have cities and move on.
I'm for a wipe actually, but that's just for personal reasons.
If they do wipe and end up having similar problems do they wipe again?
If patterns mean anything then they will be entirely too proud to wipe, simply won't happen.
3 free days though is a joke. There better be something better in the offing for this foolishness.
2-3 of 4 of these early clans in three months will have dropped into obscurity though, just like every other FFA game going. 1 of 4 strong beta guilds will stick it out for years, but the rest will bleed members, fraction, suffer cancelled subs, blah blah.
It sucks to miss the vanguard especially with an exploit going on to boot, but it is what it is and you just have to kill them and take their crap away from them.
People keep talking about an exploid?
Does anyone know what the exploid is or are people just thinking there was one cause some carebear got his char stuck at login?
What exploid are you talking about?
You Do realize that most of the clans that all ready have there player citys up and Runing have about 35+ ppl in them And almost all of then KNow Exactly what to do being they where in beta for quite a bit of time
and wile you where siting in town or killing Goblins trying to figure out what to Do
they where all ready hiting up the tresure chest and mobs that Drop keys and other items that give Good Gold quick and fast and if any of you whining Numbnuts have not Figured out
if you Role as a group you can prety much kill any thing please learn to play the game befor calling for a whipe
and if they whiped there servers now half the population would leave and the other half will be the carebears and other non factor players
Go eat some Chicken you chicken lover...quit being a carebear.

I'll just say that if there were legitimate exploits, exploited, and provided they fixed them, then roll back. If not they'll just be used again, obviously.
I'm all for fairness. I mostly feel for those who where locked out because of billing and other shit that was out of their hand.
Anyway, admin server just went down. It's nice to see some activity.
Nip the problem in the bud and wipe the server before people have too much time invested into the game and really have something to gripe about. The first week of any launch should be considered an extended beta where the devs get to see how the servers react to a heavy load and a 'live' environment.
It's a good thing that certain glitches were brought to light in the first 24 hours, I think. Fix em, wipe the servers, and let us all start anew without the sync issue.
In the long run, no one will care what happened in the first 24 hours of the game. At least, I'd like to think people have te foresight to see that a wipe now would benefit the overall game progression in the future.

If they don't have a server wipe, they may end up losing the other half of their population. Throwing the term "Carebear" around doesn't help your argument, either.
No wipe, just ban the exploiters (by credit card number and/or name on credit card), and reset the cities =P
