Trust me....They think about banning everyone who says something that is not in great praise of Tasos and darkfall.

Just because a dev company is a small company doesn't mean they have to put out a sh!tty product and do everything inferior to a big company.

Why should you support a game if it sucks just b/c the company is small, instead go give money to a charity or some worthy cause.

However, the game isn't horrible, and after several super patches (like the ones that happened leading to launch in beta) the game will be great (i think this will take 2 months or more). Most won't be able to play this game until the end of the month probably and don't be too eager to play this game the 1st month anyway, it will be riddled with bugs and lag without a doubt

First of all, what the hell is wrong with some of you people? This is my first account on mmorpg.com, I'm not Tasos or anyone else, I'm just some random dude who found out about mmorpg yesterday.

Well some of you people think it's not fair to give them a second chance, give them a chance to improve their game and everything else that needs improving. I think we should give them a second chance, since I really want to play this game I am going to give them a second chance (buy the game when it's possible). If you don't want to you don't have to, but if you are even slightly interested in playing this game I think you also should.

And "we pay but we can't play", they gave you compensation for the days you can't play, what more do you ask? Is it really that important that you play right away?

Oke let me get this straight:

    1. Tasos has been feeding lies and spitting garbage for years. Check!

    2. Fanbois have been trolling other game forums for years, about how their game sucks and Darkfall is going to be the best game evah and wtfpwn their game. Check!

    3. They have never bothered to do a real Beta test nor any Stress test. Check!

    4. They are now blaming their paying customers, while all the screw ups are on their end. Check!

And now the OP is telling us to support them and feel sorry for them?

    Yeah right!

And then to think that people thought companies like Funcom or GOA were bad. haha.

No, Aventurine needs a swift kick in the ass for this mess. The game itself deserves a chance, but not the fucktards that caused all of this drama. AV should have had a longer beta, they should have tested the account management system, they should have opened pre-orders much earlier . . . basically everything they did in the last three months has been complete and utter shit.

And what really pisses me off is that they're squandering a huge fanbase that was willing to put up with their horrible communication for years. The people that followed this game from the beginning must have had the patience of saints and now they're rewarded with a total information blackout.

Don't try and defend them. Defend the game if you want, but I encourage everyone who has followed this game at all to let AV know exactly how pissed you are.

I was in beta for a month, pre-ordered and am glad to support them. Had I not got in beta, and was reading these forums instead, I would have never ordered. I have seen what darkfall has to offer, I think they just need to get more employees and more hardware to really get the ball rolling. I think bad business is getting in the way of the game. If the business was going smoother in recent times, the game would have received more attention. It seems to me they are just short handed and under funded. Either way, $50 is easy to come by and I am all for them pulling this off.

You can't really say "don't defend AV defend the game" beacuse well.. AV is the game. Sure, some other company might see the potential in DF and buy AV, but don't think that will happen. And I don't really understand the "Tasos has been feeding us lies!" either, do you really think anyone would lie to their customers? Sure he might have been giving out information that turned out to be wrong, but I don't think he would lie...

Then you might say something about "they said that the server was up and running without any big problems but that's a lie!", I read yesterday that many people played without any problems and had a great time, and the problems they had the knew about and was going to fix in an upcoming patch. If there is any more problems, I am sure that it will be fixed if we just give them our support. (I know many of you don't want to, then you don't have to, end of discussion).

And yes, I'm the biggest noob evah!

Yeah, let's hold their hands and kiss their boo-boos from the bad trollz. Come on, they're big boys, they'll pull through without suicide.

What's irritating is people making a new thread each time to reflect their own personal drama inflicted by this game. If Aventurine had kept quiet through all these years, launched forums 2-3 years ago i doubt many would have noticed the game. But since it has been a whooping 7 years of speculation and forum wars it's suddenly all the big fucking deal.

Put these forums under quarantine i say.

"The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar, our only goal will be the western shore."

welcome to the forums and I'm glad you found the site.  That being said, you have missed months...no YEARS of posts about this game.  One of the things you missed was Taos' aggogance.  Him stating that his game was perfect, better than anything on the market, not taking pre-orders, having free play time because he knew his game was so superb that no-one would ever leave.

But, it launched as expected-like a lead zepplin.  Official forums down, you think thats an accident?  The beta players knowing exactly what to do and where to go and exploiting the game to get cities; people not being able to log in because the back end support is lacking or not there.

In short, Taos bragged he was 'King of the Mountain", but he is actually just "King of the most recent horrible launch".

So the fanbois will still praise and defend and the haters will say 'I told you so' and another MMO launched like crap.

You say give them a second chance.  Why?  Honestly, why?  If you were to go buy ANY product-pick one from soap to a new car; from a house to a ball point pen, and that product FAILED TO DELIVER AS PROMISED, would you just smile and ask for another?   Here's your new car, ooohhhh sorry, ya, ummm, the ignition doesnt always work, so umm, it may not start-but hey its the best on the market, just ask our boss Taos!

Here's your house...ummm, sorry it has no doors or windows, but you can still get in if you slide down the chimney---and we have provided you with some free rope to get back out!  Arent we great?  We sure are!  Just ask Taos-he can verify it!  And while we have you here, can you just sign the mortgage agreement with this pen?  Oh...ya, umm sorry it has no ink, but damn it looks good and we spent YEARS developing its design.  This pen is the best pen on the market, better than any other out there!  We had 1000's of secret testers telling us how great this pen is, honest.  Even our boss TAOS said its the best pen on the market!

Well if you keep buying the soup for example, but give the company constructive criticism, I am sure that the formula for the soup would improve and you would have a wonderful product.

So, you help them. Instead, people attack AV like they are the fucking anti-Christ, and wouldn't even dream of supporting them when their game (when stable) rocks. It's truly sad.

I don't even know where to start, I've been reading this forum all day now, and I'm amazed on everything that's going on here.  There is a few things I would like to talk about, I'll start with the "Aventurine, your release failed, you suck!"

There is some truth in this, but it's far from everything. Aventurine is a small company and this is their first release, sure they have failed on several notes, for example customer - company communication, but you have to give them some cred. They have been working really hard on trying to get this show going and it's noticible.

Sure, it's probably not the best solution to shut down the official forum and stuff, but I am sure that they had a good  reason. (I would probably guess on the big trafic they had, must have slowed their servers down or causing some sort of problem).  This is probably not the best release ever made, but give them time, I'm sure that everything will work out,
Now to the "I fixed pre order but I don't have it and they say it's my fault!"
Here is something I don't get, when you people who signed up for the game (pre order) and didn't get it, you make is sound like they do it on purpose! There could be two things that went wrong, you gave the wrong information about your CC or lag screwed everything up when you tried to sign up for it.

The CC thing I don't have to talk about, if you did it wrong it's your fault no question about it, don't make it sound like they don't want to accept your money and give you the game.

Then there is the lag fest when pre orders were up. If something went wrong here, I think it's Aventurines fault, kinda. They could have got more/better severs so they could handle it, but on the short notice (they found out about this problem when the bete testers first got the link and it got leaked) it's kinda hard so I at the same time don't think they could have done it better.
I would now like to talk about another thing, "LOL you are paying for a beta!"
Alot of haters have been "lol'ing" at people who got pre order, saying that they are paying for a beta.

I think this is quite funny beacuse I wouldn't mind paying for it (I didn't get any pre order) beacuse it supports Aventurine. The only way DF will survive is if they get enough funds to keep hosting it, and if everyone goes "HA I'm not buying the game now I will wait one month and see what happens" the game won't last one month.

This company needs your support, without your cash they won't be able to keep DF up. So, I wouldn't mind paying for one month if I could, even though the game have alot of bugs etc. Beacuse the longer it can keep alive the better it will be! Just think about it, if we, the customers, support Aventurine during these hard times, there might (I hope it will) be several working servers up soon! With more servers up they can handle more players, if they get more players they get more money, if they get more money they can hire more people and make the game better.

I don't know how your personal economy is, but if it's so bad that you can't buy a game you shouldn't buy games, but if you got enough money, why wait one month or more? Why not buy it and contribute with helping it grow?

I'm not sure if I covered everything here, or if I'm even making any sense, getting a bit tired so will probably stop writing now. I am sure that many of you will call me a "fan boy" beacuse of this, but I don't see myself as one. I'm just something who think Darkfall has a big potential if you all just give it some time. I don't think it's fair to judge the game on this event, the game looks good and I'm sure that it will become a real masterpiece if we only let let them have time to fix all the small problems. Don't be all like "OMG they said we could play two days ago but we still can't play nooooo it's the end of everything ", try to see it positive. If we all just keep supporting Aventurine, they will be able to fix everything, I am sure of it. That's all.. I think.
Go ahead and flame me if you want to, I would love to hear what everyone has to say about this.

    Greetings,

Please, do yourself a favour and visit the official Darkfall Online web site. In the lower right corner you will notice two flags (Greek and European Union ones) and a logo which is too small to be readable. These three images indicate that the whole project is partly funded by the European Union (via the European Social Fund or the European Regional Development Fund) and partly by the Greek state.

In other words, European and Greek tax payers have already paid for this game to be developed, regardless of other venture schemes / funders who might have contributed. Do they need more support than that?

    Kind regards,

    Jim.

I think a lot of people are sick of  "paying-to-beta" a game.  It has become rampant with new MMO's of late.  I can hardly blame them.  I think AV has just angered a lot of people with their lack of communication and other problems that should have been handled long before release.  I understand your passion for the game, but asking people to pay for something that isn't quite ready to be released, may be asking a bit much at this point.  You could blame past games like Vanguard and AoC for this kind of attitude.  People are just tired of being lied to.  And putting a game up for launch that wasn't quite ready to be there, is a bit of no-no.

    BTW...I like your quote

  • RoldRold Member Posts: 63

Aventurine needs your money, not your hate.

Fixed the thread title for you, no one at Aventurine wants to hear critics or moaning on the forums. They took the preorderers money and afterwards they let the game server crash and shut down official forums. If that isn't great .

Seems that their so called beta stress test never was the real one, they started that one with the paying customers. But hey its just history repeating, seems that nowadays every game developer is allowed to take money and deliver just lots of hot steam and half assed shit.

Thankfully I didn't took part in this beta test this time.
