DarkFall huh.. Sheesh what a mess right? Here are a few things that us grown ups are automatically doing, because of common sense.
1) Being Patient. This is an MMORPG. It isn't a single player console games. If you dont understand MMORPGs, just listen to me, I have more then enough experience for the both of us.
2) Stop requesting. You look like a jackass. "GIVE ME AN UPDATE/THIS/THAT/FIRST BORN, NOW". If they said "It will be fixed in 7 hours, youd be back in 2 complaining why it isnt fixed yet. Before you start typing to defend yourself.. Stop. There is no time. This isn't pizza bagels in a toaster oven. They're given rough estimates and due to the lack of maturity in the followers, they rarely even give those. Because people call them liars and murders and rapists..
3) Pretend the game is launching 2 weeks from now, if you happen to get into the game before then. LUCKY! If not, oh well. You still have a life, right?
4) THEY HAVE TO GET THE SERVERS STABLE BEFORE THEY COULD EVER CONSIDER WIPING THEM. Shut up about it already. Its a high chance it wont happen AT ALL. Fat people call people exploiters because they are fat.
5) If your pre-order didnt work yet. YOU ARENT A CUSTOMER. You have no rights and they offered a CANCEL option. SHUT UP AND LEAVE ALREADY.

Most of your post I agree with, but I think your not familiar with the pre-order situation, and since your not you should not back post on it.
Many of us were actually charged, some the full price of the game, since that time no we have not been allowed to access our CC information until last night, which by then was too late (obviously) So I fail to see how the people that preordererd and were even charged only the initial 2.50E are not customers...they paid money, just like you, only they were given nothing in return and were indeed never given a chance to cancel or get there money back.
For the most part a good post, but again if your not familiar with the preorder situation then please dont post on it.
Am I allowed to say that in my 5 years of MMORPG gaming experience this launch is the biggest screw up so far? Is it ok to state that Aventurine are in my 3 most pathetic MMORPG companies of all time? Is it ok to say that Tasos is the biggest liar since Joseph Goebels? Is it ok to say I'm enjoying the show?

But seriously, the reason I'm not subscribed to Darkfall right now is because I'm waiting for them to flush their bugs out. No MMO has ever had a perfect start.
In all sincerity, if I was going to subscribe my 15 or so euros to Aventurine right now, I'd consider it a donation to keep going. Seriously. Because I wouldn't expect a real product for another 4 to 6 months after release.
Did any of you really think it would release without problems? That's the nature of MMOs.

Adults do not hold conversations or discuss in-depth matters in which they know nothing about..! You have clearly stated you didn't test the game throughly or even use or test the "core elements" within Darkfall.
Secondly, you have no idea how the lack of those elements translates into failures for previous up-start MMORPG companies, in which many of us have seen several other devlopers follow this exact same path into bankruptcy.
You also do not understand that it doesn't matter if s game is FUN to play, if it isn't successful, it will flop. Most players will not purchase a game and spends MONTHS developing their character if they know within 4 months time, the game will flop. It is a waste of their time, money and energy.
So, you are obviously an extremely ignorant person, driven by your fanaticism of the game...

Second of all, to the OP, what exactly is your point? That people who paid for a product and did not receive said product should not be (non)vocally dissatisfied?
... perhaps you work for some government sanctioned monopoly in some former Eastern Bloc country (perhaps a telekom?) but in most capitalist societies, the aforementioned breach of contract is indeed a transgression of legal and/or social norms, and the resulting negative reaction is quite appropriate.
For me I'm quite dissappointed with what's happened, and very unforgiving. There has been a huge trend in PC gaming not only MMO's but multi and single player games where companies release their software into production when it's not ready. This happens so offten now, that I struggle to remember many games that don't require a patch soon after install; I'm not sure, I can't remember but I don't think had to Patch Crysis out of the box, but I did have to patch it for multi player.
chubs, you're quite right we all have a life and that and I don't mind waiting. What I do mind is paying for a product that isn't finished. I pre order a lot of goods and services; just about every day I pre order a coffee at work and usually it's given to me in a timely manner and tastes ok.
This isn't a coffee we're talking about here and hence it's taken several years to make. The point I'm trying to make, is if every time I ordered a coffee I had to return it for a refund, or take it back because they forgot to put the milk in or some other ingredient...then I'd start to get pretty angry. PC gaming has become like this, they're trying to rush the release to a deadline and often end up with an unfinished product that needs more work to it.
It's not good enough. A refund isn't good enough. The entire PC gaming culture needs to take a good long hard look at itself. More and more peeps will turn away from PC for Console if this continues to happen.

MMORPGs are ongoing services refinanced by subscription or micropayments. There are a lot of these services also outside of the gaming world. For example magazine subscriptions, support contracts and even your electricity and water. If these enterprises would behave like gaming companies... oh my would you be furious. Imagine your favourite PC-magazine suddenly filling half their mag with stitching patterns, the water coming pink and with an obnoxious flavour. But yuo paid in advance, according to totally different information backing your decision and now you are fucked, since it's non refundable.

Of course you can avoid disappointment by lowering your expectations to near the zero level. But ask yourself how you could develop that reflex. There are two ways of fighting shitty treatment by others. One is to develop a masochistic reflex and taking it all and the other is to not tolerate it and not fund it. You chose the first, I chose the second. I sure hoped (and with a little corner of my mind still hope) that DF would be a good game to play for months to come. But when I saw the business conduct of AV I abstained. A company which is not able to do simple things like keeping customers informed and have an up to date website (among other things) is more than probably not able to muster all that is needed to sucessfully launch and rund a MMORPG.

This is utter crap. I understand someone saying be patient for fixes. At launch I give the benefit of the doubt to quests not working right. Maybe some skills are bugged. Chat not working, but not even being able to log in is going way too far. The game should at least be in some PLAYABLE state!!!

Also remember this game is not made by an American dev. In Greece we don't give a f**k about customers.
If they like our product and the way we do things its all good.

I have things to do, im sure this will get really interesting.. With loads of people explaining how I shouldnt buy or play this game, because the dev team touched them when they were little.

Second of all, to the OP, what exactly is your point? That people who paid for a product and did not receive said product should not be (non)vocally dissatisfied?
... perhaps you work for some government sanctioned monopoly in some former Eastern Bloc country (perhaps a telekom?) but in most capitalist societies, the aforementioned breach of contract is indeed a transgression of legal and/or social norms, and the resulting negative reaction is quite appropriate.

For me I'm quite dissappointed with what's happened, and very unforgiving. There has been a huge trend in PC gaming not only MMO's but multi and single player games where companies release their software into production when it's not ready. This happens so offten now, that I struggle to remember many games that don't require a patch soon after install; I'm not sure, I can't remember but I don't think had to Patch Crysis out of the box, but I did have to patch it for multi player.
chubs, you're quite right we all have a life and that and I don't mind waiting. What I do mind is paying for a product that isn't finished. I pre order a lot of goods and services; just about every day I pre order a coffee at work and usually it's given to me in a timely manner and tastes ok.
This isn't a coffee we're talking about here and hence it's taken several years to make. The point I'm trying to make, is if every time I ordered a coffee I had to return it for a refund, or take it back because they forgot to put the milk in or some other ingredient...then I'd start to get pretty angry. PC gaming has become like this, they're trying to rush the release to a deadline and often end up with an unfinished product that needs more work to it.
It's not good enough. A refund isn't good enough. The entire PC gaming culture needs to take a good long hard look at itself. More and more peeps will turn away from PC for Console if this continues to happen.

Of course you can avoid disappointment by lowering your expectations to near the zero level. But ask yourself how you could develop that reflex. There are two ways of fighting shitty treatment by others. One is to develop a masochistic reflex and taking it all and the other is to not tolerate it and not fund it. You chose the first, I chose the second. I sure hoped (and with a little corner of my mind still hope) that DF would be a good game to play for months to come. But when I saw the business conduct of AV I abstained. A company which is not able to do simple things like keeping customers informed and have an up to date website (among other things) is more than probably not able to muster all that is needed to sucessfully launch and rund a MMORPG.

I agree with Chubby, everyone should just chill.
This is utter crap. I understand someone saying be patient for fixes. At launch I give the benefit of the doubt to quests not working right. Maybe some skills are bugged. Chat not working, but not even being able to log in is going way too far. The game should at least be in some PLAYABLE state!!!
