This is a very good point. I am however sick of someone asking about DFO, I give my opinion from my beta time. Only because I m not all positive about it they jump all over me. Now it s just become entertaining actually, you can say anything and they ll freak out. If you look at my post history, you ll see me describing this exact thing about the foul mouthed community. I for one enjoy MMO s and can easily /ignore people in games. This game however was terrible, i would have spent most of my playing time doing such. As you said above now they have their own little world to act this way.

I wouldn't go near Darkfall (with the knowledge I have now) with a 10ft barge pole, or any pole for that matter. It just seems to me the game is like a magnet for people with very low brain cell count(s) - I've never seen such rabid fanboyism in my life, *shudder*

The community isn't bad in game. I made more friends in beta than I have in most games simply because most games are so easy at low levels.
The forums are trash, but there's some trash in most games. As for the moderators actions, I feel they have to be harsh on the trolls or it'll end up like here.
Here you can't tell a story about something you liked or even ask questions because every thread is dominated by people who never played.
I go and try to answer questions over there and keep it honest and friendly, but most are just trash threads.

I believe this site to be more aimed at reviewing and discussing games rather than ingame support or question answering about ingame stuff.
You also cant talk about something that you didnt like about the game or even ask a question on something that may be considered negative because the rabid Fanboi's that have maybe played the game jump all over you and dominate the thread telling you how you must be a troll because you dont worship Darkfall.

That thread is an example. You have a guy come in ask a question and bring up darkfall. Look at the responses. Completely different enviroment. Now if it had been reversed and that had been on the DF forum you would have seen such witty replies such as...slit wrists and die please. And I agree that the closer launch comes it might devolve some into the same back and forth but right now its a refreshing difference. And yes if you go to these same forums you can find some pretty childish stuff from time to time but overall its not so bad.
As I said, enjoy it while you can.
When the only real chracteristics of a game are to pk people over and over and steal their loot, you get all the nerds who get beat up in school who can take it out in a game. I guess they finally feel superior or something now? UO at least had tons of other things in the game thus not the overwhelming nerd superiority complex.
