I think I will listen to the consensus of opinion about Darkfall too. Sometimes you don't have to try something to realise, using common sense and listenning to general opinion , that something is a bad idea.

I don't think anyone will deny that there are other hacks available for other games, only difference is we've yet to see how Aventurine can handle the problem. Most of the other AAA titles have the resources to aggressively ban any and all hack problems. I remember not too long ago seeing naked lvl 1 gnomes warping through high lvl content grabbing chests, and resources.. I haven't seen any in quite some time now. There are other videos, now, on youtube that display speedhacking people that are not ads from the well known hacker site (which, by the way, will steal your mmo accounts if you run their program while playing DF..or any other mmo It's happened to a few people already, which I believe they deserve for trying to cheat).
The real problem with some of the speedhacks is that they are hard to notice, as the person is running at normal speed, but just not using stamina. If you pay attention, they will turn, backpedal, slightly faster then normal. Very rarely will you see some complete noob flaring across the world at 2-4x the normal speed. Many cheaters will only use the hacks in certain situations, and in ways that it would be a bit hard to detect, just giving themselves a stamina edge in fights rather then an actual "speed" improvement.

The point here is that other companies have the resources to stop the hacking, Adventurine does not. What starts out to be a few number of people will snowball if the first few cannot be snuffed out.

The logical conclusion to be drawn is that perhaps the others games don't have these problems to the extent that DF has. And perhaps you don't see so much uproar because people realise a large game is able to deal with these hacks better then an indie company. And perhaps people worry more about the hacks in DF because of the way the game uses so much client data to control these things as opposed to server side so the chances of detection and repvention are that much smaller.
You may not like the fact that people are ripping into the game but it is happenning because the problems is there, doesn't look like going away and the company have so far don't a piss poor job of releaseing and maintaining the game

Reported them to the GMs (which by the way took less then 20 seconds to respond), supplied fraps proof, and BAM, haven't seen them in game since.

Couple of things factor into this.
Newness of the game. DarkFall has been out a week.
I don't recall the same speed which these popped up for DarkFall with other MMOs.
Amount of players in DarkFall. They have 7k+/- users currently. A few hackers in a population that small is A LOT bigger problem than a game with 10-100x that amount.
One thing in their favor though... with a population that small... the chances of finding and catching the hackers increases.
Ultimately Aventurine will need to fix the root cause of what is allowing the hacking. Just catching and banning the hackers without fixing the root cause will eventually be a loosing propositon for them. The sooner they get the hole fixed the better for the game.

Yes, actually we got attacked by a clan that had a few people hacking.
Reported them to the GMs (which by the way took less then 20 seconds to respond), supplied fraps proof, and BAM, haven't seen them in game since.

Couple of things factor into this.
Newness of the game. DarkFall has been out a week.
I don't recall the same speed which these popped up for DarkFall with other MMOs.
Amount of players in DarkFall. They have 7k+/- users currently. A few hackers in a population that small is A LOT bigger problem than a game with 10-100x that amount.
One thing in their favor though... with a population that small... the chances of finding and catching the hackers increases.
Ultimately Aventurine will need to fix the root cause of what is allowing the hacking. Just catching and banning the hackers without fixing the root cause will eventually be a loosing propositon for them. The sooner they get the hole fixed the better for the game.

You are kidding right? Just because someone doesn't know another that has seen hacking first hand does not mean it isn't happening. The point of the matter is that someone has seen hacking first hand, videos do not generate themselves you know.
