If you are over 25 and are planning on playing WoW, you might like to come and join us at The Older Gamers (TOG) - http://www.theoldergamers.com. We are a friendly, easy-going, large and ever-expanding well established community of mature game players. Founded in Australia, we now have in excess of 800 members, mainly from the United States and Australia, playing a variety of games.
We are recruiting players for our World of Warcraft Guilds, tentatively titled the "Thorns of Grey" (Horde) and "Thorns of Gold" (Alliance). A bit more information is available on the Thorns Guilds home page - http://www.theoldergamers.com/games/wow, and much more info and discussion is underway in our member forums. Our intention is to have Horde and Alliance guilds on a PvE server, and (at least) a Horde guild on a PvP server. We do not have any requirements about the race or class you choose, or how many hours you are able to put into the game.
So, if you are looking for a relaxed, mature group who focus more on the enjoyment of gaming with our peers rather than necessarily being the first to level out, then consider joining our community, and look for me in the World of Warcraft division. It's an exciting time when a large MMORPG like this one is released, and it's even more enjoyable to be part of an established community from the start.

Yes it does sound interesting..... but at the same time, kind of boring.
I would have thought about joining but I like to adventure and lvl quickly!! I also have a guild that I am forming myself on the Horde PvP server so maybe I will see you guys around?

Being a gamer I was playing WoW and was in a bit of a pinch and along came a TOG that was more then willing to help out in my battle after talking to the TOG member I became interested in Joining the
The Olders gamers TOG Since Joining I have felt very welcome by everyone in TOG , So if you are looking for a GREAT bunch of Older gamers 25 yo + please give TOG a look no matter what online game you play
from FPS , MMORPG , RPG , RTS , or even Console games , I am sure you will feel welcome too

And dont forget with the euro servers just a matter of a week or two away, TOG will be making its apperance there, At the moment a horde and alliance guild will be created with a view to pvp in the near future.

I am nearly over the hill
34 and live in the UK and I am looking for an English speaking PvP guild in European Beta (strictly no foreign languages other than English). I will be rolling a Priest (Race undecided, but Undead seems to be a wise choice - Fear resist and Plague).

Sorry but that's like asking why do I have to be 18 to vote or 21 and over to get into certain clubs.......Who's to say gaming and the gamers themselves cannot come up with their own stipulations for their own guild? Don't be so jaded into thinking that the people who MAKE the games cannot play them on their own terms.........

I'm 15... cant say Im an immature gamer... maybe you should make an application to get in if you want mature gamers
I like grouping with people of my own maturity level. I find it's more entertaining as the conversation tends to be about things I am interested in, and they usually get my geek humour.
There are a lot of reasons to make a guild of mature (read older) gamers, but I suspect it's because since as an adult real life tends to get in the way of MMOs, so if you need to bail in the middle of a raid cuz the kid is sick or something a group of your peers would be much more understanding. (Of course this is a total generalization, but I think there is some truth here)
I think it's a great idea, besides that damn generation gap can be a problem! I mean ur is actually an ancient city to me... LOL
Your dead right there Lynne, to be honest im not sure why people are taking this so personally. The Older Gamers isnt saying that if you are under 25 you are imature as ive played lots of online games where i have been pleased to group up with younger players and they have acted in a very mature way.
Lots of guilds impose rules like having to have players online for a certain amount of time per week etc.... because the older gamers is cating for over 25's most of us have alot of real life commitments. For one i own a business so i cannot always be around when others may need me. Since we all adults we have the same interests and responsibilities and the whole concept of TOG is agreeable to both of these.
So Lynne you are absoloutely spot on there.

Also its pretty obvious that you are acting your age mate, no where in this thread does it say ha ha you cant join this guild if you arent over 25, thats your warped view of being under 25 and hence have taken exception to it. Obviously by objection to the guild you arent over 25, so rather then troll other peoples threads with your childish, pointless and useless comments why dont you make a guild yourself. To be honest people like you give younger players a bad name. Ive met alot of really nice teenagers through alot of online games, but also ive met alot of idiots like yourself. No one says that automaticly when you hit 25 you are mature because ive also met lots of imature adults.
Its conduct that defines maturity, which unfortuantely you seem to be rather lacking in mr j-monster. The whole point of having a 25 age guild is that they share the same interests because they were born around the same time and as they have personal circumstances like children (like yourself no doubt), careers and other RL stuff they have to do, they are not expected to dedicate time that they do not have, that the point of the guild rather then your twisted view of what the guild is about. Pays to know the facts my friend before opening your mouth, just makes you look foolish to all the other posters that read it. Anyway ive wasted more then enough time trying to explain to you in laymans terms so heres what i propose you should do
Start a new guild with this title "Under 10's guild", that way not only will it match your age it will match your IQ as well
