I did the same thing a week ago.  Not much of a "good reason" but personally:

i logged in - played for 1 hour and went...hmmm nothings changed from the gaming aspect.  Needless to say I havent logged back in since.

    15$ wasted.

hmmm doesn't seem a good reason... anyone got another reason?

I've to specify that i left the game(last year june) not because i was bored, i just did it for lack of time.

Because Funcom is evil, and they are out to swindle you of your hard earned money and then provide harassment through bad GM and customer support!

No, but seriously, you really don't have a good reason to not to, unless you are some sort of butthurt idealist that cannot stand the way Funcom handled the hyping of their game and the forthcoming launch. A lot has changed, and you should really just find out for yourself if this is a game you are going to like or not.

Off topic: Just saw Afro Samurai Ressurection last night, pretty awesome show (referring to your profile icon)

Oh well it seems i'll have to give it a shot then. Aftr all it wouldn't be worse than when it was newly released

Off-Topic:" Yeah it's a nice show. With all those ghetto/hip-hop slangs mixed with samurai stuff. It's really innovative(even thou samurai champloo almost had the same theme... try samurai champloo too. I really loved it)"

The only person that you should ask for a reason, is the one paying for your sub.

I've asked myself already and i haven't found a reason yet. Anyway it seems at the end nobody has got a good reason to let me stop playing. I've got 2 hours more, by the way, since i'm still patching the game before subscribing.

So if there's anyone out the who thinks he/she can save me from taking this step: go ahead and give me your reasons.

I thought SequenceLost had  great reason. But I am not going to stop you. I want to see you waste your money!

Even though he had is own reasons he didn't share them with me. He only generalized.

I bought AoC a few days ago, level 20 now, seems to be very polished and obviously the best graphics in a game out at the moment. There's no reason to buy ANY other MMO over AoC right now.

I think that by going by your reason for stopping, your only reason for not playing it would be if you had limited time. Or if you saw yourself getting busy again in the near future with not enough free time to devote to the game.

I  hate getting into a game and then knowing I wont be able to play it for a while.

I quit for the same reason, I  didn't have as much free time to play it as I would have liked. I couldn't justify paying 15 for something I could only get a few hours out of each month. I still found the game fun though, and maybe I will go back someday.

No one should stop you from playing a game. You need to find out for yourself.  You should take in conciderations from other people but that shouldn't be your final desicion. $15 is $15. I don't know how much money you make and I really don't care. If your old enough to jump on the internet and play AoC you should be old enough to decide to spend your money on a game.  When AoC game out, I didn't like it because it felt to small to me. Combat was fun but it wasn't for me. This is my personal experience and I can't really share that with anyone else. I say if you like the Lore, the combat, the zones,  and the community I say give it a go. Good luck to you and I hope you find your answer soon.

    Yo check it!

    this game sux.

    Re5pect.

World of Warcraft is a proof that MMORPG quality should affect schedule/budget and not the other way around.

The game hasnt really changed since launch, what youll see now is the same that you saw before, so youll leave for the same reason you left when you subscribed the first time, and you know that that is a good reason, i dont have to give you one.

So now you have a choice, do you waste your time in a experience that you already know, or youll wast it on something new.

If the game is the same now, as it was at launch, then it must have been quite good and polished at launch because I just bought AoC a few days ago and am having no problems and a great time with it to be honest.

I never said it was the same, i just say it didnt improve much, but that maybe is a matter of opinion.

Many people are giving back good feedbacks of the game. What caught me most of this game was its sense of reality.

I dont know who wrote this few months back....

The problem here is not if its a great game or not, 'cause i really think this game rocks. But, Damn!!!, I can't play an unfinished game... even with all the patients of the world...

You just cant play it for your personal principals... Its as if Funcom is making fun of us releasing a game thats not to be released at that time, and not even by now... Thats a w8st of OUR money and OUR time...

    http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/2166199#2166199

You wrote this yourself.  And its pretty obvious to me that principals of alot of ppl only last for 5-6 months.  Then they forget.... It's EXACLY this that gaming companies and developers are counting on.  And its exactly this that they are getting away with again and again and again.

Im not gonna stop you.  You have to do that yourself.  But if you want to play a MMO game in the next 5 years that is launched with acceptable status - free of basic bugs performance issues... then you got the answer.  Cause this is not just about Funcom.  This is how every single gamer will be looking at MMOs in the future.  If ppl keep paying for lies and PR - then the game is a byproduct...  It really doesn't matter if its good or  bad - as long as ppl pay for it at any point...

My advise... Dont resub.  Wait for free tial... Or maybe .... Write Funcom and ask for one of your buddy keys that you never got if you didn't reniew after the first month...

Listen to yourself...  now and few months back.  Thats how shallow MMO gamers are.... and this is why MMOs will be launched less and less finished product in the future.

You have a point, and the OP gave it to you without knowing it.

How do you find other peoples post like that, can you teach me?

Damn!!! i forgot about what i wrote long time ago :P. I got unconsciuosly influenced by the rumors around. Even though they were purely legit. Anyway there are many reasons to why i left the game. It's true the lag and the perfomance were really annoyin', and i also was under exams. So i didn't have enough time to play.

Anyway i'm not a hadcore player in these days. I only play to keep my mind busy. Since the game was fun to me long time ago. It should be still fun since it has ad lot's of improvements lately.

P.S. Thanks for remindin' me of what i wrote. I almost forgot:P

I think that by making this post you are showing you are not really sure about playing the game, and perhaps that should be the reason why you don't want to sub.

Of course if the game is in your head, resubbing for a month, and seeing if you like it or don't will get it out your head, and you wont have to wonder anymore.

Can you still send yourself trials if you log into your account?  You just send the code to am alternate email, you could not long ago, maybe try that.

Lets say i'm 86% sure and i'm willing to see if someone else can raise the other 14%.

I can send the trail but i don't think i'll be able to hit level 30 in 7 days... That's my big problem. So i've to subscribe.
