I don't see anything banable in that. Its seems that the mods in that forum are even worse than the Darkfall forums. This isn't a good sign. It show sthat they have something to hide.
I think a lot of people believe forums allow free speech. Absolutely, that's not true. The point is, you can say whatever you want, but if you're going to say it on their forum (or even this one), you might consider being a bit more gracious. Forums are not a democracy.
The Mortal Online people might have been thinking "This guy is basically using our forum to suggest we're going to be a failure like MMO X, Y, and Z. Well, enough of that..."

If that was your very first post on the official forums, I can see why they might ban you lol.
Anyways, have some faith in SV; the devs are very interactive with the community even when we criticize a decision or feature they make, which is more than I can say for AV.
After reading the whole thread.. I have to say that your are right. There was no reason at all that you should have been suspended, banned.. or even slapped on the wrist through emotes/ That was utter garbage... It was a forum mod being a piece of crap and not answering the question for what it is.
To all the people who are accusing this guy of bashing the game, maybe try going back to school, because apparently you didn't do too well in english class. I'm pretty sure that's a core class... yeah.

Have you been there ? Did you read lately threads and approach of new comers ?
Then maybe you should go learn some behavior ? I may give you 1$ to buy some manners.

I'm giving my opinion on the matter. What's wrong is that people are like little girls today. Every little thing is changed into an attack because they are too sensitive about everything. Kind of like your reply. Instead of taking my opinion for what it is, you turn and try to make fun of someone to make yourself look better.
And you're telling me to get some manners.. that's funny.

I am done with school ... long time ago. If you see yourself as an adult ... then you should try to discuss more mature and come up with some real argument. Ghoul31 has to blame himself ... he wrote nothing positive and the last post he insinuate the game will fail.
The moderator must have wonder what he was doing there.
I wonder why they banned you? You said, "...they all have been failures. What makes you think this game will be any different?". That sounds like you stating the game will be a failure to me, and obviously to the mod who banned you.
What point is there for you to be on their forums if you don't even think the game will be a success.

A permaban for that post is retarded, nothing less.
OP asked a question. And the correct way to handle that, would be to post reasons why they believe this game is not going to fail. Banning instead, tells me at least two things: they have nothing to convince us with, and they will not be able to handle customer support in a professional manner. Which adds up to a good reason to stay away from this game until they prove otherwise.

Shadowbane is my all time favorite game. I never thought it a failure. What is a failure? Its not wow. Sure but it was one hell of a game and still is. All I am trying to say I disagree Shadowbane is a failure. Your tone and attitude seems totally bannable. I think that comment is fine here but no such a good one for the official forums.

I love Shadowbane too. The reason its considered a failure is that there onlt only 2,000 or so people left playing it. Thats not enough players to keep a game going. The game exists now as a charity case with no new content being added.
Yeah Considering thats all you wrote, They really have no reason to ban you from the forum. OF Course its their company, and they can, however, Them doing so without reason, and when public finds out about it it gives them a bad reputation. Where I come from, Secondlife, and Guilds, If I go and kick my members or Ban people off my land, just for sharing an opinion, Unless I kindly give them a warning to leave first, It gives me a bad reputation. Well That is what just happend to mortal online. Although personally I do not see that any PVP games like mortal, last chaos, darkfall, fury online, will ever make it that big, because they lack a lot of good content and stuff. The best pvp game i have to say is Guild Wars still. So.
So here is what you do request an unban, and post their response to you here, of what they tell you, And if they still piss you off, well Get all your friends to quit the game, and get their friends to quit it ect. ect. In a chian, and find a better one (:.
If a game company cannot respect someones opinion, OR question, then they should not have forums, or even post it public for others, but rather keep it private for everyone, so that no one comments on it.

Players need to realize that game forums are not a place for open discourse or for arguing tricky subject matter. They are a way to create a community, true, but they are also a marketing tool for the company.
I'm pretty sure that an open discussion on failed games and essentially a question that requires them to start making promises to the forum people that in no way shape or form will they repeat any mistake of those games would at least get the post removed. Banning might be a bit extreme (provided that was all he said). Actually it would be extreme.
If it were my company I would just make a last post and lock the thread. I would state that the developers of Mortal Online won't comment on other games but will make every attempt to release a quality product, and be done with it.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
I'm not whining. I'm just letting people know that you will get banned if you try to post any constructive criticism on their boards. Thats why I love MMORPG.COM. We can actually discuss the games here. Official forums have become worthless. Now I remember why I usually don't go to them.
Well, it didn't look like your time posting there was all that "constructive". You kept raising a lot of questions and comparisions (legitimate or otherwise) that was throwing a damper on the happy feeling ANY company wants to cultivate in their official forums while their game is in beta, and they are trying to garner interest. You read more like "Alarming Neighbor Guy" at the block party planning.
People want to be inspired whether right or wrongly, about a game they are looking forward to play in a place that's positive and inspiring. And you just weren't... positive or inspiring.

How are they supposed to get any real feedback then? If they ban everyone except the people that say that its the best game ever and that they don't need to change anything, they they willl never learn anything.

I'm not sure why you got banned, but you weren't giving "feedback". You were bringing up questions which, as the Dev posted, could have been researched. Simply asking "How will you guarantee this won't fail or turn out like the others" and things to that effect isn't really feedback. Not even they can answer that. I'm sure if you asked Mythic that question in January '08 the same questions, they would have laughed you out of there if they had "official forums" back then, and look what happened to them. Same with Age of Conan.
No one can give you guarantees of success, which is somewhat what you were implying in your questions and comparisions.
Honestly, it's a business, that's all it is. They aren't trying to "learn" anything. They are trying to generate excitement about their product while their game is being constructed so that when it hits the market, it has a positive landing pad to set down. Not "Oh boy.. here comes another Dark and Light, Warhammer, Age of Conan, etc."
Honestly, it's a business, that's all it is. They aren't trying to "learn" anything.
Are you kidding? Every MMORPG makes tons of changes based on feedback from players.
You are NOT a player. The game hasn't been released. You were not giving any "feedback". You were providing questions to which they could not possibly have the answer to.

Actually people did answer me. One guy said they were using the Unreal 3 engine, so the game would be easier to make and have better combat. I thought that was a real good answer.
So don't give me this nonsense that nobody could answer it.
