I think people who pick the opposite sex for characters are a little fruity,or they have problems in real life. Also it's just not right.
And I think people who think playing a character that's not your gender makes you gay to be very narrow minded. It's quite funny actually, you're the one who's looking at a (computer generated) man's butt for hours on end while you're playing the game.

Yeah heheh. I met a guy in AO one time who was playing a female character because he was tired of the alternative. I don't really care, myself, since I'm usually not looking at my character's butt, but that's just me.

In some games I would play a male character so I would not be bothered by oversexed males that were looking for sex on the computer. But now I play my RL gender and report it and place them on my ignore list.

male players were significantly more likely to play characters of the opposite gender, but the age differences among male and female players was never explored in detail. It was surprising to find that older male players are the most likely players to gender-bend.
However, there was a possible confound in that older male players were also found to have more characters in general. This was not the case with female players.

In MMORPG's, I usually play archer types.
Mostly those are "Female"... I'm 100% male.

I like to see my character in 3rd person view. I sure dont want to stare at the backside of an ogre for two hours a night! Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Male, female. It doesn't really matter if your playing as one of the Horde races in WoW. Because lets face it, at the end of the day, Tauren male/female, orc male/female, troll male/female, undead male/female. They don't even stick with their own kind, because well, they can't tell the difference! So they turn to that creepy crossbreeding with the Night elves & Humans. And even a gnome or dwarf once in awhile!
So remember kids, don't feel creeped out if your a guy playing a troll female on WoW, because no one will know the difference!

i useally play my own gender
but every now and then i wonder why im forced to look at a guy all the time...
if the female modals look nice in the game im waiting for then i'll consider playing as a chick.. who doesnt like a little extra eye candy
