-five continents, countless small islands, trackless underwater depths, and a sprawling underworld.
    -six dominant races.
    - hundreds of unique monsters, and take them on in their lairs, strongholds and domains.
-geographically diverse regions that are alive with plants, trees, birds and even insects.
-real-world physics and dynamic lighting and shadows. trees sway in the wind as sunlight peeks through passing clouds. movements of Agon's twin moons, which are part of a dynamic planetary system with smooth day/night cycles.
-terrain has been painstakingly hand-crafted by our artists, rather than conveniently auto-generated.  non-repetitive, unpredictable, and unique locations to explore, discover and use.
-real-time action and your character feels like an extension of yourself.
-You don?t have to spend endless hours playing in order to enjoy yourself, or to become successful. Even if you only play in small doses, your character can be effective within his chosen field, and a lot of fun to play. Whether you?re looking for intense involvement or just casual fun without a huge time investment, Darkfall accommodates your playing style.
-In Darkfall, there?s much more to character development than, say, raising your riding or mining skill by mindlessly killing rats all day. Instead, you'll need to practice your skills if you want to get better at them. Darkfall?s skill based system makes sense, and it saves you from having to waste your playing time leveling.
-You will never have to re-roll your character again. With Darkfall?s flexible character development system, your character simply adapts to the choices you make for him. We give you hundreds of skills to learn and master.
-You have the freedom to follow the rules, or to break them and face the consequences. Darkfall?s Alignment system is hard but fair.
-nearly all items in the world can be made by the players.
-Darkfall is optimized for both player versus player action and for massive battles.
-Protect your home and expand your holdings as you build your empire. In Darkfall, clans struggle for supremacy and survival as they compete over land ownership, resources, and strategic objectives.
-Choose from a great variety of weapons, armors, hundreds of offensive and defensive spells, and special attacks.
-Fight on horseback during a cavalry charge, participate in a naval battle, fight from vehicles and control siege and heavy weapons.
-victories are documented for posterity and success is measurable, so you'll never have to wonder what really happened.
-There are no safe zones in Darkfall. (3% newbie protection ..but you could attack there too)
-Politics, diplomacy, trade agreements, and even player defined legal systems
    - no developer imposed safe zones, no realms, factions, PvP zones, or any other roadblocks that limit your game. Anyone can fight anyone, anywhere as long as they are willing to face the consequences - in the form of Darkfall?s alignment system.
    - clan management tools

For the sake of brevity let's say all the stuff you have listed above is indeed in the game and functioning as intended.

Correct me if I am wrong... did you or did you not say:

" whats been left out has been announced "

"but not to say "it is not there" "

"Again you ignoring the announcement informing what features will be left out and why"

"Missing i have listed, covers pretty much all whats has been cut out and has been provided by good reasons and made known through Announcements ,Q&As and such prior release by the company."

The whole "List" started because fans such as yourself refuse to admit that a single thing was left out of the game that wasn't announced ahead of time as being cut for Release.

Other posters like myself have repeatedly; both on this forum and on the official forums PROVEN that as false.

When it becomes obvious to everyone that it is indeed false... then it's time to switch tactics and focus on the "positive" stuff that is in the game and not on the "negative" stuff that is not.

I didn't make the List of items not in the game until you made those other statements saying you listed everything not in.  I didn't dream that stuff up... it's on DarkFall's main web page.  I'm simply posting stuff that a new player looking at the game and visiting their web site for the first time would see.  Is there any indication for a new person looking at the web site what is current and what is "ancient"?

Let's say they even go and visit the forums and do a bit of reading on there to look into the game a bit more.  Is there an easy way for them to discover all the things that are in fact either in or out of the game?  Heck, even you... a very die-hard fan... are not sure where to find what is for sure cut or not.

How is a new person just hearing about DarkFall for the first time supposed to be able to determine what is there or not?

I'm glad that DarkFall does indeed have some cool features implemented that you and others find fun.

That does not change the FACT that there were things left out that some players were in fact looking forward to, and they were NOT announced ahead of time as being cut.  To the contrary... Tasos pronounced the game "Feature Complete" when the topic was raised.

Less than 2 weeks before Release on this very site when again asked about what might not make Release... he reponded with the 4-legged running.   Yet bragged about the "hundreds of extras" that were added.  I wonder if some fan would try and list those "hundreds of extras"?

It seems even Tasos was confused about what is to this day still listed on the web site.

Well sorry to derail this thrilling to and fro argument but out of curiosity I checked Ebay (UK) and found 1 copy of darkfall up for sale, £35 with ZERO bids and just over a day left to go on it.

Seems there isn't such a rush to snap up those ebay accounts anymore, also if you check the official website ppl are advertising their accounts for sale and yes a few have already been caught out when buying second hand accounts, with the original seller reclaiming their accounts. Buyer beware with any MMO.

You guys say that the community on DF's offical forum is crap, well you should have a reality check because this community right here is total garbage... Anyways, I'll be enjoying Darkfall while the rest of you play hello kitty themepark.

People think a beta is meant to play the FULL game, and they criticize about the game without knowing a beta is meant there to improved the game quality and experience along with fixing bugs. It's in beta for a reason, Funcom isn't giving (free) beta invitation to play the game before the release. They're giving the beta invitation so that the game can be improved and ready by release. This goes for all the games that are in beta at the moment (Upset darkfall lol).

CTF is going to be there for the casual whose ain't willing or liking the boarder kingdom, however, there won't be any rewards or blood money from competing in the event. If you don't like Capture the flag don't play it (I won't play it). See you all in Hyboria!

    Yup. He trolled you guys.

It was described as a key part of warfare  for a while, not only by Tasos by also the fans.there was even a map put up which showed the weather symbols on the map, with little clouds and suns and stuff, all of which you could predict by the way the wind was travelling that day..That isnt in game.
wind was also supposed to change the trajectory of arrows and spells and change the way your ships sailed if I remember right.

Yup... the weather effects being cut... WITHOUT announcement... is probably the most noticeable feature missing.

This is how it is described on the web site:

"Expect realistic weather effects, such as rain, snow, wind blowing in the trees, wind blowing in the grass on the ground, thunder and lightning."

"Sail your ship through rough seas, then become hampered by fog as the waters calm. Struggle as your battlefield-bound army marches into a severe storm. In Darkfall, the weather is more than just window dressing. "

Makes the game sound pretty cool and exciting... right?  Sadly none of it is in the game.  And no where is it listed that it is NOT in the game.  And no where was it announced as NOT being in the game.

But yeah... who would want all that crappy stuff in the game anyway?   Heh...

Enjoy the game, i'll await your angry "I quit" thread here within the next few months with amusement.

DF forums are rather free.  Most posts i see get banned get banned for good reasons and not because of negativity.

Also i do enjoy the game.  Because its a good game.  So STFU

Your right, ive seen some of these people already posting on a number of new games forums. In fact ive seen cut and paste posts that are virtually identical to other posts on other forums, all along the lines of "make the game this way" and responses to people asking for things like player housing, as too carebear. You are right, they will simply migrate to another game, attempting to mold it in thier own warped image, and spewing the same rabid fanboyism.

The shame is, if DFO was any good they wouldnt be looking for a new pond.

omfg This topic reminds me of something that happened at work today. So I went into work, and I started having a conversation with a friend of mine about how cool Darkfall (or DarkAWESOME, as I like to call it) is. I was talking about like, you know, all the super cool features and the abilities I have to do anything I want, including creating fireballs with ice magic, and then my boss came into the room, and was like, "Hey guys, what are you talking about?", and I was like, "Only the coolest game in the world to be released in the last 50 years.", and he was like, "omfg, is it WOW?", and I was like, "No, jerk, it's this interactive video game called Darkfall!", and he was like, "Omfg, I hate that game because-", and before he could even finish his sentence I punched him square in the face. No joke, right in his piehole. And I was all, "Darkfall is the coolest in the universe!", and that shut him up real bad.

And like, my boss was all, "omfg you just punched me", and  I was like, "That's the least of your worries if you ever create a character on Darkfall because I will so pvp you all over the place if I ever see you on here." But just then my friend was all, "Dude, you can make fireballs with ice?", and I was like, "Super right I can."

I think that got my boss thinking, too, because the next thing out of his piehole was, "That's pretty cool.", of course, it kind of came out more like, "blur blee burrr,", because I'm pretty sure I shattered like 50 of his mouth bones with my punch. But that's totally a different story. Anyways, back to the main point. The main point is that Darkfall is really something amazing to behold. It really is. And if you can't deal with that I think you should re-think your life, because Darkfall is that cool. It's just, I can't even put it into words, it's just THAT cool. I know a lot of you are jerks who don't know any better, and I don't hold any bad feelings for you (but that doesn't mean I won't give you a swift kick in the elbow if you doubt Tasos' integrity), because you don't know any better. I bet you haven't even played the game, but take teh word of the non-believers. I'm not here to pass judgement on you for not liking the game. I know some people are just carebears who want to feel safe and run around their non-stellar games and chat it up in their zone-chat about how they totally got a cupcake or an ice-cream sandwich by the hot lady they have hot-lady-hots for in the cubicle three cubicles down from them, and two cubicles to the right, when they were at work the other day. But that's not what Darkfall is all about. Darkfall is for people like me who are super special forces in the military, but can't talk about their jobs at all because it's so secret and like, black ops, like on the show 24. You should play Darkfall though, for real, so that you can kind of accelerate your life, like the Navy motto. But if you like your jobs working at Walmart or whatever, you can keep playing WOW, or this EVE crap I hear about all the friggin time.

But for real, I punched a guy in the face and he flew backwards like 5 feet, because he disrespected Tasos and Darkfall. That's what it means to be a Darkfall player. PVP to the core, you know? I'm PVP elite. That's how I roll, that's how I live my life. It's like, I'm a pitfighter, and Darkfall is my pit. Darkfall isn't for everybody, it's for pitfighters. If you want to try to be a pitfighter, and pick up all the ladies, you should totally wait the couple of months it's going to take to buy Darkfall, because it will SO be worth it for you. But if you don't want to be a pitfighter, that's cool too. It's a nitche man, it's totally low-key. You can still play WOW and have fun, and be a grocery store clerk. Just don't expect to pick up chicks like Darkfall players can. Know what I mean, Darkfall players? Yeah, we're rolling in it. That's how we roll.

But for realies. In the face. Sevtron out.

That was extremely hardcore. Is there a club I have to join to be that hardcore? The Freemasons perhaps? If the initiation is similar to the one in a blockbuster movie called "Eyes Wide Shut", starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, I wouldn't mind having an orgy with a few models to get in.

Kinda funny how some of DarkFall's biggest fans seem to have the thinnest skin.

You seem to have a very narrow perspective on things. Do you believe that objects only exist if you are actually looking at them, by chance?

No, I am talking about the tears coming from individuals in the actual game that cannot seem to get their heads around a non-linear game that also contains a loss mechanic and limited restrictions on player's actions.

This may be due to what they are accustomed to, as much as anything else, I imagine.

But haven't you been telling us for quite some time now that the vast majority of those who play the game love it and think it's the best MMO ever?

Why would you care about what a very, very tiny percentage of the players think?  Unless of course you are suggesting it's a bigger percentage of players than some of the fans have admitted to in the past?

Truth is, that's why there's all of this lashing out from the fanboys. They know that a large percertage of people playing this game are finding it not to be as advertised or even enjoyable. They are crying because they don't want their precious DarkFall to go the way of Tabula Rasa. However, we know that's exactly what's going to happen, whether they like it or not.

Come on, you have to give Darkfail some chance. They need some time to "work out the bugs". :)

You need to own a Darkfall account and amputate your right middle finger (Yakuza Style) in terms of subservience to the allmighty Tasos...

besides, theres no use for that finger in DFAWESOME, we just use left click

Free Masons got nothing on Darkfall. The level of awesome we require is tantamount to insanity in regards to Darkfallacy. Err, fall. My bad. Stupid a-l-y keys got sticky. They don't know what's up, either.

    ALL HAIL TASOS!
