Where is the mobs

Funny people are still denying the known bug.

It has nothing to do with maps, or "finding" them. The mobs simply are not respawning in areas, large areas of the map. No mobs, get it?

They are not respawning. I swear DF fans would claim the sky was purple if Tasos told them it was.

Deny! Deny! Close your eyes, cover your ears! There are no problems!!11!

Yes there is a bug what makes the mob not spawn after you kill them, it happens to every mob spawn. they all stop spawning. But any idioot that runs 1.5 hours Could have looked at chat and Notice that More people are complaining about it. And after a server side fix it seems that that bug ( crosses Fingers) is fixed finnaly as of yesterday.

I think its obvious thats the cause, I'm just gobsmaked that know it alls like Javac, post accusing the guy of trolling, and post up links to hunters maps about an issue that anyone actually in the game is fully aware is real, there are mb spawn issues right now.

I am playing. I haven't personally seen any "missing" mobs, was only apparently a few people who reported it, so i ignored.

point is, the game is full of mobs, and if you had been around here a bit longer, you'd know that about the endemic psycho-troll TenSpotting, who does nothing else eith his life but create & recreate mmorpg.com accounts to troll DF with, until they get banned in 2-3 days then he goes and creates another one. no, i'm not joking, it's THAT pathetic.

Full of mobs? That's a pretty gross exaggeration, when you compare it with most other games, which I believe is why people think Agon looks empty. While I don't think anyone can actually run for 1.5 hours without seeing a single mob (unless it was one of those times when most or all of the mobs in the game weren't spawning), it is quite possible to run for 5 or more minutes without seeing one.

Compare that to just about any other game out there, most of which you can't run 10 to 20 seconds without seeing or running over a mob. By way of comparison, the world of DF seems barren.

Similarly, the NPC cities look and feel much more empty than other games. I believe they will add some NPCs and mobs as they continue to develop the game, but the knee-jerk defenses during beta - "they haven't activated all the mobs yet" - was obviously an excuse. The world does indeed look mostly empty.

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.

Well, there WERE less mobs in the beginning and middle of beta, and it was because they hadn't been activated yet.  But yes, Darkfall is much less populated by mobs than other MMORPGS, and I am thankful for that.  Agroing a mob when your PvPing is already horrendously annoying, even though it doesn't happen often.  If it did happen more often.... it would be awful.

However, there is no excuse for the empty, uninhabited fortresses and unactivated dungeons.  And yes, there ARE still fortresses which are empty, and YES, I have waited minutes at a time trying to get things to spawn.

Also, they need to speckle the world with non-agroing wilderness animals.  Things like deer, ducks, cows, goats, etc.  that would give the world a more organic atmosphere.

i like the mob distributation a lot too, it looks & feels more realistic, which adds to the immersion factor. if you stumble on a NPC camp, they defend it like a bunch of players would -- sneak around behind you, call for help, use ranged weaps, etc.

i don't have a problem with coming across the occasional empty fortress or ruin, it is plausible in the world. in beta, before my cln was hired to defend another clan's city, we were based out of one of those "abandoned" fortresses/camps. worked well as there was a wilderness bank, chaos stone & NPCs nearby.

i agree they ought to have wandering wildlife, that would be a nice addition as long as it's not overdone.

Uhm,  it must be you. The starter quests will take you through three tiers of quest and 9 different areas within each racial land.

The dynamic spawn system means that if all you do is run and don't target ruins you likely wont meet anything.

Any PC is a mob and carries the best loot all around

You are so scary that they hide from you.

In fact you have to find the camps. There are mob camp every 5-10 min non mounted travel

Bleh no no you got it wrong.

the moment the op was complaining was due to a fact there was a bug that was causeing mobs not to spawn. However the bug was addressed and things are back to normal.

More of a complain post turned into a troll post by other trolls(not the op)

    The lies are unbeleiveable.

Earlier in this very thread you admitted it was a known bug, now you are back to calling the OP a troll.

They took the servers down to fix this very issue, that mob spawns were broken, it was reported numerous times on the forums, and you still try to claim some 'victory' by proclaiming the OP a troll for talking of a bug you knew was in game.

    How dishonest are you?

No rage, just astounded at how dishonest the darkfall shills have become.

You, in this thread ADMITTED you knew it was a bug in the game that mobs didnt spawn.

They took the servers down the day this thread was made to specifically fix the non spawning mobs issue.

And there you are pretending there wasnt a problem and it was a 'troll' .

You are a liar, a dishonest shill, plain and simple. You resort to purile insults because you got caught out.

apparently enjoying playing Darkfall and posting about your experiences and easily obtainable, referenceable facts makes you dishonest these days.

oh btw, this is the Darkfall forum, why are you here again?

Unfortunately, many DF players/fans greatly stretch the facts and view everything through rose colored glasses, hence the negative reactions.

javac being NO exception, he stretches the facts quite a bit. Also directed at you javac, why are YOU here again? I tried to look at your post history, and the last 50 posts or so... and I don't recall seeing barely any posts talking about your experience in the game.

Instead you only really attack other people over and over, call them trolls (when in fact your most recent thread you created has been locked because you were trolling), and generally make me glad it is not really possible to get my hand on a copy of this game.

And why am I here? One, because I can be. Two, because people like you fascinate me and I cannot help but watch the circus, especially a free one. I am positive I have more fun watching you post on here than I ever would playing DF. If you keep up the quality entertainment, perhaps I'll send you a monthly sub fee for your efforts, sound good? :)

Regarding your last point, it appears the engine cant support this. Someone else in another thread touched on this, and came to a fairly rational conclusion that the game engine can only support 10k dynamic objects, so they are forced to trade off having alot of wildlife with this limitation. No idea if its true, but, it makes sense, why else wouldnt there be? Not as if you need to code anything complex for a squirrel or a deer, now if it was a leet from AO, watch it....
