Seen EQ1 played - didn't like it. Watched a movie for EQ2. Can't really tell you what its about from that though so not sure. Played a little of WoW. I like the death system where you become a ghost. Fun to stand near your body until someone comes along and then jump out at them - resurrecting in mid air hehehehe. Anyway, if you choose to go with WoW then as a note - check this site out: http://www.getphpbb.com/phpbb/index.php?mforum=gryphonknights . It's an alliance guild called the Gryphon Knights. I'll have to get back to you on the specifics if you're interested at all, but if you do decide to check it out you're welcomed.

ahhhh, the endless vs quest. Fanboi's of each rearing their heads stating one to be better than the next. Simply put, neither is better. OMG...HOW CAN THAT BE. The one you like is and will be the better game...TO YOU.
Both games are MMO's and beyond that, the comparison ends.
One of the biggest problems is that when people do their comparisons, many are using the game they like is the best and the other game is pretty much heresay since they never played it.
WoW is a very fun game. There is a fast leveling place. The graphics are very pretty when you consider that they've been created to run on anything from a GF2 on up. There really isn't a huge difference between the graphic engine of WoW to that of the Original EQ, its just how they utalized it. We're not talking serious pixils here. The graphics fit the game very well. PVP in the game is done fairly well also. If you enjoy PVP you will probably enjoy it in WoW. Leveling is made fast to help assist in reaching your endgame. Its a very solo friendly game. Quests are simple and enjoyable. Its built on a great backstory of the Warcraft universe.
EQ2 is a very fun game as well. The leveling is slower in EQ2, I won't lie about that. There is no lack of quests and you can level at a fairly decent pace by doing them. Graphics are done on a much "beefier" engine than WoW, but the downside is you need a system to really get the full efect of them. For the game, the graphics are amazing and like WoW, the graphics fit it very well. There are more textures and detail, to say otherwise would be a lie. This is not a PvP game and it is PvE. Depending on the player, it could very well be a camp fest, but if you don't want it to be, then thats your choice.
It comes down to this:
Graphics: Both are excellent in their own way. WoW will appeal to some, where EQ2 will appeal to others
Content: If you want PvP, you want WoW, if you want PvE, EQ2 seems like the better choice, but WoW is definately not lacking in that area either.
Leveling Speed: If you want really fast leveling, then WoW is for you, if you want to take your time then EQ2 is good, but again, you CAN level fast in EQ2 if you know what your doing
Grouping: If you want the grouping aspect, then maybe think EQ2. I say this only because up until the close of OB and all through CB, there is no real benefit to grouping in WoW. I found it actually faster to level solo than group, but thats me.
So, which would I pick? Both, which is what I've done. My primary is EQ2, but my secondary has been and now will be WoW. I love playing both. I played beta of both. In my opinion, they are very different games. Classes and environment shouldn't even be compared. All those that read will need to make their own decisions. Many people play one and say its the best, but if they don't play the other, how can that be truth. Others have played both, and they will lean towards one side for whatever reason, therefore saying a game is best....remember, its best in their opinoin. The only way to find out is to try them and see what YOU feel is the best.
Actually if you're going to do that then why not go by cost?

WoW is an awesome game, and I'd have no trouble recommending it to PvPers or PvEers. I can't bash EQ, because I haven't played it, but no PvP? What's up with that?
I went back to SWG today to cancel my subscription (again). After playing WoW open beta, there's no way I'll play anything else for the next few months.
If you hate PvP and would never participate in it, play EQ2 with all the other people who think likewise, if you enjoy PvP even once in a while, play WoW.

The monthly cost is identical and the retail box should pretty much be too.
BTW, for a lot of you posting, if you havent played BOTH games fairly extensively, you dont have a fucking opinion.
