OP: IMO, the difference between the level of maturity from least to greatest is so negligable, as to make it a non-factor.
I love it when statements comparing WoW (or any other game for that matter) are made in regards to maturity level. I would venture a guess that Darkfall's "boneheads vs. non-boneheads" would take top awards with room to spare.
Indeed. There are quite a few "characters" running around on the server. However, there are also quite a few good people there as well.
From my experience as Mahirim, I'd say we have a good community. I would recommend hanging out around Mooclaw (south from starter area) if your looking to farm and meet some new friends. A lot of guilds that are alligned work together there, and it's a popular place to trade.
What does it say about somebody, that they spend time on forums of games they don't play and spill poison on them? Where is the hate coming from? Trolls are much worse than fanbois. At least fanbois are blinded by their irrational LOVE for something. But trolls? What has DF done to you? Killed your puppies?

Maturity will come when you move from these areas to other places. It's not a matter of race. Most starting areas are full of players who think that they will get rich and cap the skills by spending all their time there, stealing loot, killing greys for fun, harassing other players, beeing solo gods or something like that. They are remnants of the older mmorpgs and they will vanish since darkfall is not a solo mmo. Get yourself out of there when you get some skills and find a good clan.

Hiya guys. I managed to get lucky earlier today and got a copy. I started playing as a Alfar, and not to be rude or anything, but it seems like alot of rude people. Tons of bashing each other, no respect for anyone, that sort of thing. Now if this is just the state of the game, that is one thing and I'll learn to live with it, but I figured I would at least if there are any other races that seem to be more mature. I'm also looking for a race that also works together more then Alfar. The race is funny as it is really FFA, cause they don't care that you are the same race, if they want to kill you, they do. I find it amusing they would kill a noob with no loot on him, but who am I to judge. Thanks for answering.

"Help Me" is like a dinner call, before that poor player is even dead there is at least 15 players there waiting to loot his ass. If he takes to long to die someone will GANK him to speed things up. Then he will be dinner lol.
Ork is where I started, I have a lot of my skills over 50 (not macroed) and the other Orks were better nature and easier to get along with than Alfar. Grouping as an Ork was not a problem as grouping Alfar is just waiting for the session to end and know you will be ganked by your group and lose everything.
Humans is what I am playing now, community is not terrible but have yet to group. People do like to kill humans more than other races I guess, at least they have some easy zombies and skellies near by to get armor from.
Dwarf I played in beta, and even then it was a mostly crafting race, community was ok.
Going to start an Elf after work tonight will let you know how that goes.
As of right now Ork is the winner for friendly community and generally getting groups and having fun.
I would say the human alliance (mirdain, dwarf, human) has good people, with the wolf - ork folowing closely

I acctualy think its kind of cool to have a real no bs "evil" race like alfar in every way. I never had this in say Horde in WOW....made no diff on either side of the fence....in DF alfar is well....bad....and everyone knows it
I will explain what is the connection between maturity and race selection in most games: kids will always tend to play humans, it's the case in most MMORPGS (WOW too), so humans in DF are one of the most obnoxious and immature bunch; alfar attract the 'ultimate PKers'. or whatever mahirim 'look cool' so that's another easy target for kids; orcs and dwarves don't look cool, and 'ugly' races usually attract more mature people (probably for the opposite reason cutey races attract kids) i don't know why elves too attract mature people (mostly). Maybe a RP thing?
What is the basis of this conclusion? You did a survey? You have a way of counting beans? Or you just cook it out of your head?
one of the reasons i chose elf (besides playing an archer/support mage) was guessing that elves have a peacefull community. my guess was right. i was ganked, a lot, but almost exclusivly by raiding bloody Alfars

Thats the whole purpose. Its not "My little Ponny Online". We are not into it to make "best friends forever", we want war.
On the other side, its something special to have worked togeather and fight next to unknown people. And help out eachother when beeing ganked.
