Just because somebody said they loved me because they agreed with my post, I get banned for life. Thats just messed up. But whats more disturbing is the favoritism shown to Lachrymose. And whats also disturbing is that StJudas locks half the threads in the forum. That whole forum is disturbing. It makes me have a lot less hope for this game.
You did not get banned because someone said they agree with your post, you got banned because the mods believe you created multiple forum acconts to give negative rep to people. If this is true or not is not up for me or you to decide, it's up to the mods.
And again with the favoritism. If someone else had reported the same thing to the mods you can bet your ass they would have done the same thing. Furthermore, Lachrymose has been on the forums for a long time (longer than many of the new mods) and has been very active and has a huge amount of good constructive posts under his belt. It's common sense that they would take his word over someone who came to the forums and made an inflamatory and uneducated thread, like you did.

If you had really wanted to get unbanned you could have simply joined IRC and talked to one of the mods, given them your side of the story and if it checked out you would have had your ban lifted. Because half of the threads topics have already been discussed 1-10 pages back? I've been following the MO forums almost everyday since June last year, and the reason they have to lock em is because new users that registrated when the beta signups became avaliable keep asking questions that have already been answered and starting discussions threads about subjects that have been discussed to death.
I know they made you sad, but come on.. the mortal online forums are better than most pre-release forums i can think of and i've been on many thru the years.
Chill, wait for the game or wait for player made reviews/videos. Forget about the forum if it sucks so much.

Just because I disagree with some of decisions of the mods doesn't mean I'm gonna be all dramatic like you and claim that the game will not succeed, because the pre-launch forums are not perfect.
Its sort of eerie how people defend the poor MO forums almost the same way that DF fans did. The parallels between these two games development is quite amazing, as are the apologies.
Perhaps its just common characteristics of games made by indy developers and their lack of funding, but you hear the same excuses.

As a company selling a product they do have the responsibility to answer questions if they want customers. If they are using their business and product under the guidelines of preferred membership then no they don't. Seeing how MO is a public and non-preferred service and do not answer the question and instead go to read up about it. It causes me to believe there is terrible customer service. This is assuming the events happened as described by the op. Even when dealing with a possible abusive member it should have been answered to acceptable business-like standards. If this was answered with links and a less negative attitude it would have at least met the criteria for being marginally professional. I think it’s very sad how this was handled and it reeks of unprofessionalism I think companies have to draw a certain line where they maintain professionalism but still interact comfortably with their chosen audience.

Pretend that you've been working on a game or even something else just as big for what? Years? Now picture someone else posts on your forums bashing the game. What you fail to realise though is that this game is going to be amazing. You can see it in the concepts, in the graphics, and in what's promised to come. Every new game gets flack, if they cannot take it now pre-launch how responsive will they be to the player base for complaints after launch? Will they ban your account for making suggestions? I think the actual question posed is legitimate and should be asked by every small company trying to make a MMO - of themselves - should we try this? Can we pull it off? The market has a lot of poor games on it, or rather games that appeal to only a small portion of the player base - should we risk adding to that?

you know, i was thinking the same thing.. in fact, i'd say there's a very good chance ghoul's got a horde of alts on these forums. he definitely seems like the type of guy that would create multiple accounts to dehype promising looking MMOs (ex: Mortal Online) off the front page for one reason or another. maybe he's just a bitter gamer that thought AoC was going to revolutionize the industry, or maybe just an angry WoW fanboi that wants to see all other games fail.. guess we'll never know since getting a straight answer out of him seems next to impossible.

I had my account for a while, but I never posted before. You must build up rep over time. I signed my name and everything so it would be clear exactly who was giving you negative rep.
lol. that's not how it works, but nice try. it's physically impossible for you to give negative rep if you have less than 10 posts, no matter how long your account has been around. but i guess i'll let you continue your little rant.. some people might still believe you and stay away from the MO forums, which seems to be your goal. when MO does come out though, if star vault delivers a great game, i doubt your getting banned from the forums will prevent anyone from playing it. either way, i won't be losing any sleep over it, and i suggest you don't either. you got banned. life sucks. next time follow the rules and it won't happen. i'll likely be seeing you in MO if it turns out to be good, and if you still hate me then (for whatever reason), you can take it out on me in game, since doing it on the forums obviously hasn't gone too well for you so far. :

haha, ok, ok. i give up. you know the truth, i know the truth.. so it's silly for me to try to explain to you what you already know. i'm still waiting for you to talk your way out of that lie of yours, but i honestly don't see any way you can at this point. anyone with half a brain will be able to put two and two together, and the fact that you lied once should be a sign to them that you're apt to lie about other things as well (for instance, say... the reason you really got banned from the forums). why you would lie about something so silly is beyond me.. but i guess it's a big deal to you, so i'll leave you alone to continue your anti-MO campaign.

So how is avoiding the fact that you lied about giving the first negative rep from your banned account going? You know, the account that had only 2 posts and thus had 0 rep power, but somehow you were magically still able to give negative rep with it.

you know, i was thinking the same thing.. in fact, i'd say there's a very good chance ghoul's got a horde of alts on these forums. he definitely seems like the type of guy that would create multiple accounts to dehype promising looking MMOs (ex: Mortal Online) off the front page for one reason or another. maybe he's just a bitter gamer that thought AoC was going to revolutionize the industry, or maybe just an angry WoW fanboi that wants to see all other games fail.. guess we'll never know since getting a straight answer out of him seems next to impossible.

you're right, creating alt accounts to talk like a 12 year old so that your main account doesn't develop a poor reputation sounds very childish. i didn't want to say it, but thanks for manning up and admitting it.
