I can't believe it'll be 4 years since the NGE this year.

Crazy how time goes by cause I remember when the NGE rolled onto the servers like it was yesterday. Being on Mustafar and the spawns being totally fooked up and you couldn't move anywhere on Mustafar cause it was so broken for ages after. Always been waiting and hoping for SOE to do something crazy again in the hope to save the game or release a classic server or something. It never came and you now relaise that shit.......... 4 years is way too late for Pre CU to come back because it just feels so dated and wrong. Playing the Emu you can just see how broken Pre CU was and how much they need to fix and while yeah the core mechanics are great all them things that needed to be fixed with it would have taken years. Like the time it's taken to try and fix the NGE the Pre CU game should have been getting all the fixes such as Comp Armour and Buffs and how little content the game and all the bugs and class balance. Frigging sat on the Emu thinking this would be so much better with all the content and items they added since the CU and NGE.
What I'm tyring to say is it's too late for a come back, even for the Emu because of how broken the game was, though it had potential.
Very sad and makes me sad aswel cause shit does time fly by and how old I've gotten since 2003.

Yeah time does go by fast. Seems like the older I get, the faster it goes. Easter and Christmas seem to come every couple months now, lol.
It's probably too late to bring back precu SWG. You're right, it was flawed in many aspects that were very frustrating, since it seemed like the fixes were not all that complex.

Only thing making me sad about it is I can no longer look at Sony as a company through rose colored glasses thanks to SOE
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
Has it really been 4 years already? To this day I still find myself nitpicking different games and wishing how they had housing and shops like swg did. That made it more realistic to me. I have noticed in gameshops that its no longer on the shelves then again game stores have slowly dwindled the amount of pc games. Not to get side tracked but I remember how pc games used to be wall to wall but places such as gamestop they have a little tiny shelf now.. Anyhow it still sucks that SWG went down 4 years ago...wonder what Julio Torres is doing these days....
Gamestop hates PC games. I've seen many where they have NO space for PC games at all. IF they do have PC games, they're relegated to a single, small, highly disorganized shelf with tons of old titles from half a decade ago.
If I want PC games, I have to go online or visit my local representative of the Evil Empire, i.e. Best Buy. At least BB usually has decent space devoted to PC games.

Lol 4 years later and people are still upset over SWG NGE? It’s like the psycho ex GF who still drives by your house once a week even though you broke up 10 years ago. Time to move on like a lot of us have. I want nothing to do with any form of SWG pre-cu or not, the whole game sucks and was nothing more than a flaw in gaming history, who cares at this point? xD

4 years later and I can only dream of finding a game that had such great gameplay AND an outstanding community as SWG did.
But I remain optimistic
Four years later and a smaller skeleton dev team and just an occasional TCG "expansion" and instance content and never-ending revamping. Very soon SOE will be adding the items shop like they did with EQ2 and are in the process of doing so with Vanguard. Obviously the way SWG was for the first 2.5 years wasn't what SOE wanted.
The thing is the only reason SOE are doing TCG and all that stuff is cause people are buying and it the people buying it are the very people complaining about how it ruins the game. However they see a kool item and because they're playing an mmorpg they want all the best and koolest stuff so they have no choice but to buy it. Though if they stopped buying these items then SOE wouldn't do them anymore........
................. also hard to believe people are still harping on about this too, the rest of the world has moved on but the good old Veteran refuge just stays the same. The same arguments over and over and over again.

That is a fair point -- if it is just curiousity -- but Miagi and the other guy certainly keep coming back, taunt the denisons of this Hell, flame and troll, and then leave. I find that quite strange.
