Not sure how it would work, but i would like to see Fable online. And have your avatars grow old and die so I could see how many try to die with the most/elite stuff.
Why do people keep saying Diablo online? It's called Wow people. If you've played both games you'd know that the Wow classes are very closely tied to the Diablo ones, right down to the spell trees and individual spells (whirlwind for example). The only difference is a slightly different setting.
Actually Stradden, your wrestling reject IS being made by THQ's own inhouse Vigil studio. They are the same ones that are making the upcoming Warhammer 40k Online, scheduled for release in 2012. The WWE online title, I believe is slated for 2011. It was on the same slide when news broke about WAR40K.
Waiting for- Tera, Jumpgate Evo, WH40K, WWE, WOD, TSW -- -- "Hey, if Activision liked it, then they should have put a ring on it," Double Fine President Tim Schafer said. "Oh great, now Beyonce is going to sue me too."
I am a horror movie fan, zombie fan, Valve fan and L4D fan, but this is a ridiculously bad suggestion. L4D only works because it lacks any evolving world. As an MMO it would lose all of its defining features and since L4D has no real story there isn't a whole lot to expand upon.
L4D is fun because of the horror story cliques and relatively high tension combat. It just wouldn't work as an MMO.
Ok, I thought Blizzard announced that the Starcraft universe was going to be setting for the new MMO a month or two ago. (Thought I had read this on the Blizzard website... maybe I'm wrong.) If I'm correct here, that means you should have had a different #1 on there. Otherwise, Starcraft could make a great MMO if Blizzard doesn't fail at good game mechanics like WoW.
While all the 10 mentions (and the some 'didn't quite make it' add-ins) have all been solid games on their own right, I didn't see any smaller titles that might actually make a solid MMO.
Fallout definitely is slated for production into an MMO, but Interplay's financial issues and legal tie-ups have this on hold and possibly even just vaporware. Interplay can't raise capital due to legal issues and Bethesda hasn't made any comments about potentially picking it up.
Mechwarrior is one I'd love to see, so my vote is with you guys. Several games have mechs in them, but none really measure up. I really think this is one game that should be completely PvP-centric with the ability to establish bases for resource production. I think it would be a great candidate for a single-server system, too.
While we're on the subject of old FASA IPs... Shadowrun! While only two actual video games have been developed based on this franchise (PC/XBOX360 and SNES), the game has a great background and versitile gameplay that gets away from that annoying level grind. The biggest issue with this game is factoring in certain game mechanics that could put a character out of commission for a year or more (game time) such as recovery from cybertech implanting/upgrading. Neither of the past games has done the original RPG justice, though.
intresting list ,there were some id like to see happen but i think there are some that were left out on your list that would of of been more deserving like
fable online zelda online vampire the masquerade online mass effect online megaman online dynasty warriors online thoese are just a few suggestions as to what i think would of been great games to play online
I was just going to mention vampire the masquerade but instead of just of that they should incorperate all the stories that White Wolf has into 1 online game called White Wolf Online that way you have vampire hunters, werewolf hunters, mages, everything in 1 big game that spans the whole globe.
"Possibly we humans can exist without actually having to fight. But many of us have chosen to fight. For what reason? To protect something? Protect what? Ourselves? The future? If we kill people to protect ourselves and this future, then what sort of future is it, and what will we have become? There is no future for those who have died. And what of those who did the killing? Is happiness to be found in a future that is grasped with blood stained hands? Is that the truth?"

i was trying to remember the name of the other popular white wolf game besides vampire , but if you could recall what it is called id be happy to mention that as a choice for a mmorpg.

Someone might want to check into it again, but I believe CCP had the liscense to make a mmo out of the Whitewolf universe. If that project is still going, then yes... it is being made.
Waiting for- Tera, Jumpgate Evo, WH40K, WWE, WOD, TSW -- -- "Hey, if Activision liked it, then they should have put a ring on it," Double Fine President Tim Schafer said. "Oh great, now Beyonce is going to sue me too."
I'm always amazed that Kingdom Hearts exists at all. Used to be a producer at Disney and similar ideas were always axed because they might mix different properties in the same setting, which is directly counter to policy. It mystifies me.
In any case... my list would be totally different. Some of the ideas make little sense to me. For instance, I'm not sure what the point of a Madden MMO would be, considering most of the players of sports sims are perfectly happy playing games against friends. So either this MMO would see tens of thousands of NFL team owners... or I guess you'd be playing a single player. I'm having trouble envisioning the career path of a place-kicker character.
Some of them seem done or overdone, a Neverwinter Nights MMO? I mean, yeah, great fantasy setting... seeing as it's a D&D setting and all, but do we need another generic fantasy MMO? Do we need another D&D MMO? Then there's Grand Theft Auto, it's a great idea, but isn't someone making something pretty much identical to that already?
And some that I'd love to see are totally missing. I mean, I'd have to have a MechWarrior MMO. Yes, there have been online Battletech things but not really open MMOstyle and none that I've noticed since computers started handling more than 256 colors at once, but there hasn't been a good "western" giant robot game in ages. (All anime aside, I refuse to believe that any military would build a giant war machine that uses a sword as main weapon... k?)
I'd also like to see Interstate 76 come to the MMO world. An MMO with the same "Wow, I'm really in a 65 chevy with a flamethrower on the roof!" feel to it would not only be great fun, but spark a renaissance in the PC steering wheel accessories market.
The owning of houses, jobs, marrage. A unique yet neat skill system. But i did hate going from young and nice looking to old and ugly looking. but the story always made up for that, as your always being tortured for a few years anyhow.
But as an mmo this would be awsome, it would kill that weird virtual dice feel wow, and some of the others have.
The ability to lock your doors, gaurd the city. or be the badgguys and raid the city. With the battle system you would really have a chance gear or no gear.
Thats a whole concpt of city raiding and duals, yet alone what leaving the city would be like...
I vote for Starcraft and Diablo because these two games would be perfect. I'd also want a Spore like Roller Coaster Tycoon where I could go and visit other peoples theme parks and have to compete with them and take ideas from eachother. Would be soo kool to compete for the best rides you made and stuff like that.
Comments
Personally, if you're going AD&D I'd much rather have...
Planescape Online
Im surprised no one have said Unreal! It would be the perfect IP for a MMO with lots of lore and races. A real MMOFPS
If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
A well put together Dragonlance mmo would be cool.
"I'm sorry but your mmo has been diagnosed with EA and only has X number of days to live."
Not sure how it would work, but i would like to see Fable online. And have your avatars grow old and die so I could see how many try to die with the most/elite stuff.
My top candidates for MMO development:
So to whomever it may concern, get to work.....
Hauken Stormchaser
I want pre-CU back
Station.com : We got your game
Yeah?, Well i want it back!!!
I would love it. Wonder how many Raistlan Majere look alikes we would see ?
An Age of Empires MMO would be awesome, but it'd have to be on a scale which would be too difficult to make.
Tried: WoW
Played: EQ, EQII, AO, SWG, NGE-SWG, LoTRO, WAR, Vanguard, Eve, WWIIOL, Guild Wars, Darkfall, AoC.
Playing: DAoC.
Waiting For: SW:TOR.
I love babylon 5. But does anyone remember Descent Freespace 2? God that franchise would make an awesome MMO!
And does anyone remember Zork? It brings back fond memories, does anyone see MMO potential there?
On the note of really stinking old games, how about an Angel Devoid live action movie? xD

Just thought I would give you a heads up.

A older PC game named "Arcanum of Steamworks & Magick Obscura" would have made a *great* world for an MMO to be based on.
Wow, you want a Left4Dead MMO? seriously?

Guild wars.
FAIL !!!!!
10-No
9-No
8-No need
7-No wouldn't be fun grinding ore.
6-Why? Its an epic single player game.
5-This could be cool.
4-Again there is already DDO and its mutiplayer anyway.
3-If it was survival horror then yes
2-Would be very cool for some people
1-Never played but it would be perhaps to simular to WoW.
My top game to MMO would be Pokemon as that would be freaking awesome. Also a warhammer 40k one as an FPS would be really cool too.

A GTA kind of game is being made, its called crime craft
Think Battletoads would make a great MMO.
