Thanks for trying to put an end to that multiple account nonsense.
I played wow since release. I had several max level characters when the level was 60, then when it was 70, then quit playing before this latest expansion.
I hope you realized you posted this survey on the forum that probably has the largest population of wow haters in existence!!
I think probably every MMO player that doesnt like wow is here... all the ones that do like it are on the WoW forums.
Any survey posted here will give very very biased results.
LOL thats not true at all, The people on the WoW forums hate WoW also.
They're just so addicted they keep playing. How else could you explain the amount of bitching on the WoW forums?
The people that love WoW don't know the forums even exist like 95% of the mmo community.
Forum goers are a very small % of the gaming community.
Actually all the WoW fanboys that had nothing to do before 3.1 came out where in the general forums making sure any "pre-WOTLK was better" was trolled upon constantly. WoW fanboys + General forums is comparable to how atheists flock to off-topic forums everywhere.

If you would be so kind to look into the Wow forums these days, you would see....
- Ulduar gets a BIG positive acceptance. Whiners are almost non exisitent.
- PvP gear is on par with Ulduar drops (and gets played massively: 75BG's open in Blackout Battlegroup alone).
- The Wow forums are VERY constructive these days and the trolling posts are kept to a minimum.
Why? Because the posters simply have to post with their avatars to have ANY credibilty. AND .... are linked to their achievements directly.
Stating something which is contradicted with your avatar experience is .... suicide these days in the Wow forums.
---- What's the lesson here ------
The MORE trolling in these Wow pages, the MORE Wow just published a very succesful patch.
Lol, this post is funny.
Firstly, people post behind alts because they get trolled based on their class, race, arena rating, etc on that sole character they post with. If anything posting behind an alt avoids getting trashed by... THE TROLLS that DO exist in WoW, so you prove yourself wrong here, you state that those that post on alts are denied yet at the same time they are denied because trolls on the WoW forums judge them rather then argue the actual point of that specific post or thread (so they avoid points made in a post by trash someone for posting on a main or on an alt).
Secondly, it does not matter whether uldaman gets a positive review or not, you are avoiding the point. The point is that Uldaman should have been boxed in with WOTLK, but players get it more then four months after? And I don't really care about Uldaman, considering I left the game when Blizzard failed to deliver for several months straight after I payed money for the actual game. Wow, the leveling experience was solid, that is a good thing, but I don't play WoW long-term for the leveling experience.
And you are ignorant if you actually believe that the WoW forums aren't full of trolls buddy. Trolls that avoid the actual discussion by saying, "oh your opinion doesn't matter because you are posting on an alt" and when you do post on one of your mains "oh your opinion doesn't matter because ____ (some random reasons like you don't have enough achievement points or that you don't have a higher arena rating)". So yer, you can keep DREAMING.
PVP is still as awful I'm sure. One new battleground that has mechanics that are opposite of MMORPGs, jumping into a tank and shooting stuff is mario kart, I don't play MMORPGs to play mario kart, I play mario kart to play mario kart. I play MMORPGs because I can build my character in the ways I want to and through hard work my character can become more complete, etc. Either way, SOTA (are they trying to make it sound like DOTA? sad sad) is basically a mini-WG that involves mostly storming one side and not capping the south GY (and yes, even after 3.1 capping the GY is still stupid). WG is still WG, basically the side with the most people wins, sure there is a minor element of strat to it, if you can get a few smart people together you can protect or attack the towers... But for the most put it is a complete zerg because it has no player limit, the side that wants it most will win (which is, the side mostly attacking and didn't have VOA before).
Anyway, your high praise of battlegroups kinda shows your inexperience, so you wouldn't know anything about early-wow forums trolls and hence can't make a judgement. I guess the real lesson is that inexperience you have, since if you knew anything, people use armory as a way to avoid real debate and agrument, you just proving to me that WoW forums still have loads of fanboy trolls who weren't even in vanilla.
I've played WoW on and off since the first open beta launch(~3 years). And i've developed somekind of love-hate relationship to the game. After my years of wow playing i'm starting to se a pattern^^. Usually I start playing WoW with ~5 irl friends and then we join a random guild, gets to know our guildies somewhat, plays for ~2-4 months and then quit/take a break from the game.
Now we want another/new mmorpg to play cuz that's kinda the only genré of games we like xD so we start searching sites like this one, and others similar to it, for a new exciting and fun-to-play-game. We usually gets into 3-5 betas (I actually feel like I'm an experienced beta-tester by now). We usually also try a few free-trials or even buys a game. But guess what. Everytime after ~2-3 months we're back to playing WoW.
Why? Maybe It's because like some of you wrote, all other mmorpgs are trying to copy WoW without success. Or maybe it's because WoW has perhaps the best commity/player interaction I've ever seen in an mmorpg. And that's the most important part of an mmorpg for me, player interaction. (The second most important part is ofc to have an awesome character. Hopefully with a bigass weapon of some sort but i can live without it... barely)
I've always played WoW because i think it's a fun game to play. I've never ever felt i "had to play wow" and i can't understand people who plays a game feeling that way. If you wanna play, play. If you don't, quit. It's not harder than that :P
I've been in casual guilds, hardcore raiding guilds and high rating PVP teams. When we quit playing WoW It's usually cuz one of these things go bad for some reason and when we start playing again It's usually after a new patch or because we have a lot of irl mates who wanna start playing again^^.
Maybe i should also mention that I'm not the kind of player who levels up ~3+ characters to max lvl. I usually only have 1 character max lvl and perhaps an alt of some kind. Wich means I get to play alot on max lvl and almost exclusively play end-game content. And imo you havn't really played wow until you've played the max-lvl-content. And yeah sure I can understand why people think it's a hassle to get a character up from lvl 1-80. But in my experience it's actually quite easy and alot more fun to level a character in WoW than most of the other mmorpgs I've played. Most other games require some very serious grinding to reach high lvl. In WoW if you're lvl80 you only kinda grind Instances each week for fun and ofc for loot. And it's not like you have to do that if you don't want to.
Now to some qqing about WoW (since I'm not playing atm). I just wanna say one thing though. I really HATE the way the developers tries to "even out" all the classes (even though I can understand why they do it). Making pure dps classes almost useless, and all the healer classes into one single class. If you don't got the highest dps as a pure-dps-class then why the @£$€ should you roll one? why not instead play a hybrid class and be able to solo all the old content in the game for funnsies etc.
Will i start playing WoW again? Probably, some day. If not something better is released very soon^^
Edit: About the achievementsystem. Some of us like it and some of us hate it. It really doesn't matter cuz it's in the game and they prolly wont change it much BUT. If you've reached a high achievmentnr it kinda ties you down to one single character. You don't wanna reroll, and eventually maybe you'll even get bored. Atleast i feel that way^^ Imo they should make the achievmentsystem accountwise instead of characterwise... there are some other improvements I'd like to see but i think they're kinda impossible to programe so i won't mention it^^
About the siege-engines (SOTA, Malygos p3, WG etc). Well.. it's not like they're gonna remove them either so might aswell make the best of it. Imo they're kinda overusing them though. It's not fun to ride em and they're definately not making me wanna play the game because of them^^
Enough. Btw I do realize i maybe should write these things on Blizzards "improvement forum" or whatever. I say... Meeh :P
WoW PvP is completely crap. Redicolous class imbalance paired with gear that matter 100 times more than skill makes the PvP in WoW a joke. Can't really see why anyone would PvP in WoW ...
I've been playing WoW again lately and that game takes as much time to play as anyother mmorpg. The only different between WoW and older mmorpgs like it is WoW polishes everything and doesn't have frustrating gameplay mechanics that punish you for playing. I mean it took me over 2 hours to get a group ready for an instance which took a further 2 hours to clear........ frigging you have to spend ages getting two people to travel to summon everyone before it and that takes a long time to do aswel. I think WoW is as "hardcore" as anyother mmorpg on the market right now, the only difference is it allows casual players to join the fun aswel as thats why it's so popular. I played some WotLK and it is a much better game than it used to be because it allows me to do isntances in 20 odd mins and the story is much better and everythings just much more fun. If you want to spend 24/7 on the game you still can though. The really hardcore people have all the achievements and everything to get now aswel and the honour system which I don't have enough time with.
I just think the reason people hate on WoW is cause it's the most popular and if it had a population of say Vanguard then they'd be singing it's praises. It isn't Blizzards fault that they made the most polished and best mmorpg on the market and it became really popular as proof to that. People are also getting bored of WoW because it's been out for over 4 years now and tbh anyone will get bored of any game after 4 years. Just think people need to grow up and relaise the state of the genre has to do with other developers making crap clones and not Blizzard for making a good game that everyone wants to copy.
QFE. When developers of other games learn how to make a fun game then I will give them a shot. Until then, I'm staying here.

Sounds like you need to play smarter, too many people give up because of gear, and start QQ'ing, if you pick your fights, run away if outnumbered, low on HP, play smart, use your CC, interupts, feign attacks rather then running in like leeroy you might just suprise yourself.
As to class imbalance.. should a holy priest deal as much DPS as a fury warrior? realy?
For me Wow PVP is fun becuase its responive and fluid, animations sync perfectly, sounds/animations are used to good effect to donate, parries, dodges, there are good counters to almost anything another class can throw at you, either in trinkets or talents.
If you get jumped yes its hard to come back from that, but hey maybe you should of paid more attention to your surroundings.
And yes I think rogues (with all cooldowns good to go) can be annoying as they can keep you in stun and kill you.. but thats my only grip with PVP.
I tried WAR and well it made me see just how good we have in WoW, cus as every 1 knows WAR plays like EvE, click target, queue up attacks, go make a cuppa tea while you wait for the attack to register.
