As I said, even if he kicked people, he could just be abusing his power because it happened to the same guild 2x in the past few days while the majority of the guilds haven't had any problems even after being reported around the same time. And again, your cop analogy is flawed. Some GMs, the ones that don't have temp ban powers, aren't the same as cops. They are more like the neighborhood watch people that try to enact citizen arrest.

I suggest we start a campaign to make all other MMO companies to finance Adventurine with % of their earnings, so they could have Darkfall running and with more servers. That way all cheaters, exploiters, hackers, macroers and all other lowlifes could join their brotgers in Cheaters Heaven (aka Darkfall) and left all other games free of them

Sigh ..... I really am trying to look at this with a shred of positive but it's just not coming to me. I honestly don't understand why Aventurine just doesn't nip these things in the butt. When they become aware of them they should rectify the situation quickly, within a day or so. Instead the exploits linger on and we end up with what we have here. The acid pool exploit was the same kinda thing.
Hopefully the patch today will rectify the situation.

I mean, I don't play DF and I probably never will, as it's just not my cup of coco, but if this is the general attitude (and it seems to be, if there are hundreds of players participating in such an exploit event) then is it really so surprising that game developers and GMs have such a hard time? Ok so people throughout Darkfall have been using a great way to train rigor by encouraging mass participation within major alliances. Basically we have 15-30 spell casters with the earth magic called earthquake and then we form a pyramid with non-casters surrounding the casters. Everyone donates reagents for the casters to use.
Then they click and release the AOE spell which trains our rigor skill while we don't get hurt since they don't hold onto the spell. Earthquake is a spell that does DOT around the caster and hurts everyone in range. But we don't take damage which lets us train rigor 100X faster than normal. This was suppose to be a smart way to train a skill but the GM's recently declared it an exploit.
Yesterday, while we just formed our pyramid after over an hour of organizing 200+ people a GM talked on public chat while we were taking advantage of game mechanics. I later found out that they destroyed another 'rigor party' in another major clan/alliance by kicking people. First our alliance leader tried to persuade the GM that it isn't an exploit but it failed since the GM said that the devs considered it an exploit. Then he started talking bs with some sarcasm which was hilarious.
Soon the GM began kicking people but there were too many people so I barely noticed people disappearing. Our casters just logged back in after being kicked so the GM couldn't beat us. He kept trying and trying but for some reason he couldn't kick us fast enough. Then we spammed public chat with stuff like "MORTAL ONLINE" and "MO" and the chat was flooded like crazy and it became more laggier. Eventually the GM gave up and we used the rigor pyramid all last night into the morning when the servers went down for daily restart. We did it the whole day also today and the GM isn't interfering anymore because we kicked his ass. We are going to do it until they patch it in about 7 hours which is the patch tomorrow morning. It was the first time that I saw a GM back down from the biggest alliance in the game.
Fun.

Tasos never said GMs couldn't kick people. What he said was Aventurine checked the logs and found the reports of the GMs being corrupt (at that time) weren't true. He also said that GMs don't have the power to crash the server:
"First of all GMs cannot crash the server, or cause a client to crash. They cannot create items or money. All their actions and communications are monitored and logged. We re-checked all chat logs and GM activity for every report mentioned in the forums or reported to us at the help desk, over the time periods that the questionable conduct was supposed to have taken place and found absolutely nothing. Because of this, any public accusations on the forums accusing GMs or the company of any such activities will be removed, and everyone contributing in the thread will be banned from the forums.
GM activity is always monitored by us. If you would like to report GM conduct, then you should use support.darkfallonline.com to do so if you have proof of misconduct."
In this case, was a GM abusing his or her power? Who knows? It does seem like the rigor pyramid is an expoit, but that the GM didn't really have enough power to stop it.
I'm known as a Darkfall "troll" but hearing stories like the op's make me want to play df. Absolute chaos that GM's can't even control, Sign me Up!!! Does this happen alot or is this an isolated incident?
This should be Darkfall's selling point, macro, hack, and exploit all you want in the chaotic lands of Darkfall!!!! Now I would play that game!!!!
