If I had to choose my favorite OST of all time for an MMO then Lineage 2 wins hands down, the music provides so much immersion that alone keeps me entretained at times, and everytime I hear them I wanna play the game.
Well, if you consider that same 2 tracks playing over and over again great... I'd have to say the same music for every town was driving me crazy in Guild Wars. It was disappointing IMO, but then again I'm comparing it to FFXI.
I really like the music that goes with the Aion clothing trailer, www.youtube.com/watch. It just sounds so neat to me and I really like listening to it.
I like SWG the best of course. Not really 'original' since its all from the movie scores, but brilliant work. WoW definitely has the most original score and its top notch. I like AoC's music as well. EQ2 was ok.
... and just to answer the OP. SWG Dathomir always did something to me... in fact nearly every planet when I arrived I was extremely in to the music/atmosphere.
My fav mmo music in general would have to be the swg. From driving into the imperial base on lok to being in the wilderness on endor, pretty stunning imo.

Umm, I always thought WoW's music track sucked, just a bunch of generic rumbling in the background that was very uninspiring and forgettable. Sorry dude, I had to download FF7 addon to keep playing without falling asleep while grinding in that game.
Right now I'd say Aion has some of the best in-game music I've heard....really goes well for the game, plus you can never go wrong with a piano piece...=D
Yep AoC impressed me, extremely atmospheric music. Almost a diablo'ish feeling to some places: Here's some amazing ones, i grouped them according the the 3 races, i think they did an awesome job giving each race a theme just with the music . The Cimmerian one below is well, hair raising! (i believe it's norwegian the song)

AoCs music stand alone in a class of its own, there is a reason it won the price for the best soundtrack in any computer game 2008.
Games that merely have good music tracks are Chronicles of spellborn and lotro among the best.

I have to go with this as well. I really love the L2 music. It's amazing.
I also would say Jeremy Soule's Guild Wars music. I think he is very talented.
I tend not to like the synthesizery (yes I know, not really a word) stuff but his use of the Garritan Sounds makes it really work

LOK and Dathomir is dark and so beautiful.
Definitely the song Lady Sylvannas sings in WoW when you finish the necklace quest line.
It caught me be suprise and was just beautiful and tragic at the same time...

Lineage 2 was the best but now its Aion for me. When I entered the first town in Aion I had to just pause for a minute and take it all in.
My favorite opener was DAoC. It was my first MMO and the opener always pumped me up for the game.
My favorite in game music was AO, the music always seemed to fit the mood for where you are.

WoW soundtrack by a HUGE margin - each and every zone has a distinct original sound to it and the capital city pieces are truly billiant.
