According to many people, Warriors suck. I play as Warrior because I don't like to use spells, I like to be heavy and strong. It all seems good right? A heavy armored strong warmonster. So what´s the problem with Warriors please tell me? Í'm still level 8 so I'm kind of n00b :P. Also, I play as Horde and I want to stay on horde. I'm not going to the alliance just because Paladins are alliance classes.

hehe... wait till you get to lvl 20 ish. Then you'll know the meaning of sucky.
Basically warriors are good at one thing: TANK, they don't do alot of damage, they can only hold aggro.
Rogue is better fighter (more dps... much more), Mage does tons more dps.
Oh and if your on pvp server your gonna need VERY good gear to even stand a chance in pvp. Seriosuly they have no pvp quirk skills like for instance if you get frost noved you can't escape easily. (yes there are items but thats not viable when a mage casts it 3 times in combat ^ ^).
Dont wanna put you off, cause every party needs a tank. But thats all you will be be... the guy taking all the hits with taunt. You will learn that generally you may as well get a nice shield and use the shield block skill.
TBH i played a warrior to lvl 23 and he was THE TANK. He really could tank well. Problem was in pvp everyone beat him.

For the most part the warrior does seem to have the short end of the stick. I have taken one of every class to level 20 and by far the warrior was the hardest. No dps, armour isnt a big benefit in the game when so many mobs reduce your armor. miss, dodge, parry rates on mobs is ridiculous at times ( and that is on a server where i get no lag, and my latency is around 70 ms). So far I have learned that the hunter and rogue make far better warriors, than a warrior. Warriors do have taunt, but the lack of an aoe or group taunt makes even this hard. This is further compounded by grouping with a hunter, and having their pet tank better than i can, and the pet can hold aggro better too. PVE solo isnt too much of a problem tho.
MMO Vet since AOL Neverwinter Nights circa 1992. My MMO beat up your MMO. =S
I advise if you like warrior, stick with it, anyone who has played MMOG's can tell you classes get changed left and right usually, there are classes that are the flavour of the month only to get abandoned the next. Go for the class you like the playstyle of, warriors don't have better dps than rogues but in a later patch I'm willing to bet they will in a straight up fight. (so not including backstab but they'll have the armour class to counter that...)
no well the reason why rogue have dps is because they cant take hits like a warrior can.
I think warrior dps need to be increased some or at least let them solo mobs a few lvls higher than them.

edit: well, 2h or dual wield at least, 1h/shield a little less of course.
it's not that warriors are bad, its just that they are weapon-dependent...... anyone played d2? when the expansion first came out, all the physical damage class were useless.... eventually as people get better gear, those classes will polish and shine, give it some time, and you'll see that warriors arent as bad as people tell. its just mage and others are better at the moment. and if all fails, let blizzard buff the warrior up.
stick to playing with what you like, patience pays off eventually.
Warriors where at one point extremely over powerd,
So blizzard made warriors have the LEAST base hp of ANY class. Thats just stupid.
They also took away pummel, you cannot charge in battle
Basiclly warriors cannot do anything to STOP being Kited
Hopefully they will get fixed, and thats why my alt is a warrior hes only 19 now but I am noticing that they are only a shadow of there former selfs.

Hail to the King, baby.
Yes, Armor really makes a big difference and thats whats so handy with the Warrior. Being able to wear mail armor and than Plate Armor at 40 is a huge bonus! It may now seem like it at first, and you dont really notice it if you never group, but lets say at lvl 20 you have 1200 armor. Well a rogue wont have half that ( guessing ). Yes, they can do a ton more damage than your warrior can, but they'll die twice as fast as well.
If there is any advice about not liking your character in the game, dont get rid of him. Keep playing till you get some better skills, upgrade your armor and weapons or try something new in the game. If all else fails, and your still frustrated ( which happened to me with my mage ) dont delete him, just create a new character and play with something new for a while. Eventualy you'll want to have a character with lots of armor and be able to use a big sword or axe, whatever, and you'll be glad you still have your warrior to play around with

Ive heard all about warriors being sucky. but im true to form and i always have my main as a human warrior. and i will do so when it goes retail here in europe. If it sucks, and not many people chose it, then its just even more fun.
Loves the jobs you hate
youll be surprised most people go warr by default .
I know i did my first time round.

dont get me wrong all the classes Do work theres just a good 3-4 classes in my mind which are superior than the other classes.
Im not gonna name them but i have tested them.
Mainly pvp wise (soloing is fine with nearly all classes unless your sword/shielf warriror... cause u are slow heh).

Warrior's in general do not suck, it's the people behind the computer controlling them that make that statement true or false. I am a NE lvl 24 warrior and I love my class. Warrior's are not meant to be the best in dps. I have seen a lot of warrior's ingame not understanding their class, therefore they can not play the warrior as it was meant to be. It is vital for warrior's to understand when to use the different stances and it is also vital for the other member's of the group to understand their roles as well.
I have seen too many times where casters complain that they have way to much aggro and the warrior can not taunt the creep off of them. What would you expect tho when you have mage #1 nuking from the start and not letting the warrior get a chance to get in first to gain hate. In groups, it is advisable to have the warrior pull and get the first few hits in in order to manage aggro better. I have no problem what so ever keeping aggro as long as each individual in the group knows their role.
Down the road people will learn that just jumping in right away will not be the effective way to kill X mobs efficiently. It takes skill and strategy on everyone's part.

WoW is so... WOW! Get it?
ure on a pve server right?
PVP warriors just suck. I know they are useful in groups and nearly every group requires at least one warrior to tank. But in pvp tanking aint gonna help when they do tons more damg.

I must defend warriors from people who obviously don't know what they are talking about. I have an Orc warrior, level 24, with 100 blacksmithing and really great gear. Well over 700hp, like +30 something to both strength and agility. I have 5 pnts into critical strike which allows me to crit well over 200dmg with my 2hand axe atleast once a battle. I have parry maxed, so I parry like a mad man.
I have yet to lose a duel. (against my own lvl)
I rarely get owned over and over in pvp.
I have killed 2 night elves at my lvl at the sametime. One a rogue other a druid. Ofcourse I do not pick targets that are lvl 30, thats just common sense. Pick your targets wisely and play smart. When I fight a mage I hot key switch to my 1hand axe and shield and shield bash during his casting, which interrupts his cast and prevents casting anything in that spell line for 6 secs. I use charge alot to stun my target, I always use my shouts to maximize damage.
If I get nuked, I pop a full health potion, maybe I will die but for the most part I am hard to take down and I am only 24. My weapons are always sharpened +4 to min and max damage, I use defensive potions and stat buffing foods and wear the best gear I can find.
I am not a PvP junky. I PvP and I have fun. So it doesnt bother me if I die now and again.
Point is, the player has alot to do with their gameplay.
I can solo well. I was soloing lvl 16-17 elite beasts at lvl 20, (which is no cake walk, in the wailing caverns).
I think warriors are a great choice for soloers, or group oriented players. I dont know what the end game will be like but as far as I can tell, the warrior only gets better with age.

Level 37 warrior here. Warriors do not suck, they excel in all aspects of the game, the problem is the user. Everyone seems to think all the warrior can do is heroic strike.,... Also nobody seems to try the different stances, everytime i see a warrior he opens with a charge and does some heroic strikes. For groups defensive stance is excellent. also against rogues. I took a lvl 40 rogue no prob in defensive stance. USE TAUNT PEOPLE!!! I see so many warriors in groups that just hit the monsters, taunt is great, it keeps your healers alive and you will get more rage because the monsters beat on you. For soloing, use beserker stance, its also great against those warriors who continue to use battle stance. Took a lvl 42 tauren who used nothing but battle stance. For casters use a shield and use shield bash, honestly that is one of the warriors best skills. try it when someone is healing and you will understand why. Im tired of people saying warriors suck, they just dont know how to use their own.
Also, its not always a good idea to use a 2 handed weapon, Think about it, in the time that you miss one strike then get the second you could have tried to hit 3 or 4 times with a 1 handed sword of almost equal dmg and had the buffs of your shield. The miss rate seems a bit less with a 1 handed weap too.
Warriors dont suck a all i had a lvl 24 warrior in stress test/open beta and it was just fine i could beat anyone in pvp that was about my lvl except for shamans that ran away.... and used totems to slow me down...
And rogues... i beat em easely in PvP so i dont understand ppl saying that rogues do more dps en stuff... well maybe they do but there defence is lower....
for example i joined a raid with my then still lvl 19 warrior and was attacked by a lvl 20 rogue 1v1 while i was sitting... and still beat em
so warriors dont suck a all... its just about how good you are at "warrioring"
heres a poll to c what ppl think about warrior:
Okay im a lvl 30 warrior, and i didnt bother reading all the posts (only read page 1) so im sorry if im repeating. Warriors are bascilly tanks, they are in every game. Of course Rogues and Mages should out damage warriors or why else would anyone go them? Rogues cant tank though, i have 2000 armour my rogue mate has like 580.
"warriors have no pvp quirk skills"
Well im only lvl 30 and so far i have Retalation (every time im hit i counterattack for 15 seconds - use a slow 2hand weapon and any melee dies in a few seconds) i also have a defencive move that blocks all spell, melee and ranged dmg 75% for 15 seconds. I have also trained my Overpower abilitiy awell as other things so every time someone dodges my attack i can use overpower and it has 50% chance to crit.
We also get Hamstring that slows movment by 75%, and all this by lvl 30... I aint realy looked but im sure we will get alot more by lvl 60.
Warriors are a good class to go, but your equipment will make or break you. Also your DPS, as it should, will be alot lower then a Rogue or a Mage (classes that are made for DPS).
But Warriors are needed in a group, go try take on an orrange end elite without one...
