I am playing the Chinese retail version on windows 7 x64, it has worked fine out of the box. No need for a patch or anything.
Yes, it seems to be the consensus that 32 bit is the affected version.

alright, I broke down and did as the OP suggested. downloaded, installed, and updated Crossfire. Replaced the Gameguard.des in Aion folder with the one from Crossfire. When I load up Aion, i get the blue screen of death every time. Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen

C:WindowsMinidump60409-26062-01.dmp
C:UsersMeAppDataLocalTempWER-78968-0.sysdata.xml Funny thing is, I get the blue screen with both Aion and Crossfire. So now Gameguard is crashing my comp. And people wonder why I don't like this stupid useless shit. So that's a beta key wasted, a 2 day test is not worth trying to jury-rig stuff to work. Uninstalled and forgotten.
blue screen yikes, im sorry dude, this fix worked perfectly for me, all i did was replace one file and it worked.
FYI i am using windows 7 64bit and had to do this to get it to work.

It's not your fault, you had no idea the fix would work for 64 bit but not 32 bit. Now we know. The BSoD wasn't big deal, just a simple reboot.
What's sad is apparently the makers of Gameguard don't realize 32 and 64 bit OS are two different animals. What's even sadder is NCsoft didn't check this out when they implemented it. Since we know it affects Vista, it is not solely affecting "beta" OS's, so it should have been caught and dealt with.

Yeah confirmed I have Windows 7 64 bit and I went to forgottenportal.com/index.php downloaded the file they have there and I just replaced that gameguard.des file with theres didnt need to do the crossfire thing and mine works fine now.
Been trying several ways to get Aion on Windows 7 64bit to work because of Gameguard Error 0, and the only one that has worked was the Crossfire file!
Here is a DL link for just the Gameguard.des file from Crossfire! It worked for me, how about you?
Just rename your Gameguard.des file in Aionin32 to Gameguard.des.old and drop the new one I linked in there. Gameguard finally patched and Aion started up!

To update my post:
I have now also installed the US Aion version and I now indeed also had the gameguard problem. Replacing the gameguard.des file with the one from the Chinese Aion version fixed this.
I tried the "32bit fix" I still get the blue screen of death when I load up the game. Currently I get the error code 0 gameguard error on attempt of loading Aion. Whenever I replace any of the gameguard files with the fixes I am getting a blue screen of death. Currently I am in Windows 7 32 bit. I hope they make some sort of fix by friday I just got my preorder and really want to play .
