World of Warcraft 2 will never happen because there is no reason for Blizzard to make a sequel. if they wanted to do another MMO, they could do a Diablo or Starcraft MMO (or both) without the need to do WOW 2. As far as their new MMO is concerned, I am convinced that this one is not Diablo or Starcraft simply because we have new games in those IP's already in the works. I think the new IP will absolutely shock people. I think Blizzard got some major IP to sign on that we are all not thinking about that will just really be awesome. My thoughts are along the lines of Transformers, G.I. Joe or something like that (just using those as examples).

VOLTRON!!!!! hahaha
speakin of wich has there been anymore news on when we'll get Dragonball Online?
but yeah they wouldn't kill wow off, its making too much money as it is.
they have already said that there next mmo will not be based on the diablo or starcraft universe
I'm just going to quote the above again for anyone else who is reading this dead horse, sorry, topic.
They have already stated it's a whole new IP. Keep your eyes peeled on Blizzcon in August.
I am no expert on how blizzard handles press releases of this type of information, but I've seen several people reference blizzard making comments like this in the past only to turn around and do exactly what they said they were not doing. Such as working on diablo 3 and starcraft 2 when they said they were not. Yeah I know it is weak, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was based on an already existing IP they have. It makes great business sense.
Very doubtful it would be wow2 as sequels to existing games haven't done as well, but there is the old business saying. Replace yourself before your comeptition does.
I know that I am swimming in the deep end of a grey area, but I don't think we should rule anything out just yet. That is all I am really saying.

To my knowledge they never outright lied about those sorts of things. They we cagey, dismissive and refused to comment, but never lying. If someone has a proof of otherwise I'll stand corrected.
As for this new MMO with a new IP we go by a blue post on Blizzard forums that is comfirming it.

Well in regards to their "new" MMO you can just go by logic...
With the customers base they have (record profits every financial release..)
You don't make something directed to the exact same market... why waste the money to divide your current player base. If you think most of them will pay for both I guess.... Where I live most people around me are dealing with the financial climate atm.
So while WoW is doing what its doing.. a new IP makes sense.. in fact a totally different target audience makes sense.
To the OP... WoW 2 would make sense if WoW 1 was losing a majority of its subs etc... or a WoW 2 that is a totally different core mechanic.. but then it really doesn't make sense as WoW 2.
Sequels haven't done very well in the MMO world..... one could argue the success rates of sequels in most media don't do that well (some do very well... but I mean overall).
