1st EverQuest - Troll Berserker (Post GoD & pre-SoD).
2nd Everquest 2 - Ogre Bruiser
3rd Warhammer: Age of Reckoning - Goblin Squig-Herder
4th Matrix Online - Martial Artist
I enjoy gritty, brutal, ugly & plain evil characters the most, the Troll Berserker epitomised that & it was a lot of fun roleplaying him, the Bruiser was the class I wished the original EverQuest had (Ogre Monk) & the Goblin Squig Herder grew on me after the Choppa was dropped from WAR's release, the funny little git was a joy to play even when he was utterly gimped, & still remains the most fun to play of all of WAR's classes for me, & lastly from Matrix the martial; artist was the most fun as it felt the closest to "being Neo" the beauty of this game was you could if you wished switch to any other class quite easily, provided you'd bought the abilities, the combat was clumsy but it had a uniqueness about it that I found very addictive.
Necro in the 1st EQ was awesome fun! it had group usefullness as well as uber solo ability. Also the Necro in DAoC was great too and i must say way overlooked in RvR imho. I was always getting kill spam on the Guenivire RP server. hehe my DAoC Necro was uber popular in Albion just for my RvR ability lol....two of the best games i have ever played.
Redmage and Paladin tie from the Final Fantasy Series Red Mage in AF gear is by far one of the coolest looking classes in RPG history, who can deny them that? :P Oh and Paladin look awesome too
I'm a magic person, so I usually take a healer/caster as priority in any rpg.
Picking one favorite it would have to be a Sorcerer in Neverwinter Nights with the Red Dragon Disciple prestige class. I'm a bit annoyed though that they decided to not give Red Dragon Disciples visible wings in Neverwinter Nights 2. After all, the decision for me to pick Red Dragon Disciple in NWN was based on the fact that you got wings on your character. :P
I prefer the worst classes in Shadowbane to the best class in any other game - Bladeweaving Bard or Thief the best of the bunch. Somebody please make SB2.
Minstrel was probably the other class I enjoyed the most in lotro.
I have yet to find a class I REALLY love; I enjoy dps, but most dps is far to mindless, I prefer really complicated and busy classes.
For example I love the spy in TF2 (which I play alot) because if your really on the ball its not hard to more than double the score of other people, but there is just sooo much going on you really really need to focus to manage it all.
Im hoping to find something like that in Global Agenda.
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...
It can be any game - even a non MMORPG. My favorite by far would have to be the Alchemist in Everquest online adventures for the PS2. They brewed special potions ahead of time, and your dps was tossing the potions at enemies that did everything from debuffs to snares to straight up damage. The class is ingenious and beats classes that are more linear like mages and warriors.
Another EQOA player, I haven't seen many of those (first post on these forums, so can't say how the community here is.)
Back on subject, I normally play support/healer classes, if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the Kahuna/Druid from Rappelz, had buffs, a weak heal, dps, pretty much a jack of all trades (and I could self-rez!)

Hah, nice. I had a rogue werebear barbarian once. Wasn't my best toon, but nothing like watching a group of newbies scatter when they see a damned bear pop out of stealth and start wailin' on them.
My all time favorite class is probably the Deflar (Templar with a focus on high defense, for those of you not blessed enough to have played Shadowbane) I NEVER ONCE in my nearly six years of Shadowbane made or played a deflar because of how OP they were, but I still thought they were the coolest idea ever. Heavy armor, shield and sword, fire aoes and nukes, health drains, and if you took the dark knight rune you even got a half blind and a half stun. And if worse came to worse, just cast your wings and whoop ass even harder. Too bad they were so OP, I would have loved to have played one.
hehe

Architect in SWG; simply loved the novelty of not being combat oriented, and it was always a nice feeling to log in and get bombarded with requests for custom orders.
Yeah, architect was great. I'm of the opinion that if I could find a game that allows me to have great crafting fun like the architect, along with a great combat gameplay experience, I'd pretty well be set for life.
Anyways, I usually play mages. I got hooked on the mage back in D2, played one in wow as well, and in general if a game has a mage class I'll play it before any other class.
I used to be mage first and last, but then played 50 levels on my rogue in WoW and now I tend to approach any situation like a rogue. Myself, if I know I can get groups, I love being the fifth character, the support class. Hard to solo, but great at doubling the effectiveness of a party. Enchanter in EQ, the occasional bard in D&D, etc. Also, I love crafting, so any game with a good crafting system can get me hooked, just wish I hadn't missed out on SWG when it was rolling along greatly.
Edit: Also, force field defender in CoH, with a fun, retarded backstory.
my first choice is an Assassin (or as close to it as possible). 2nd would be the BioEngi i had in SWG and 3rd would be some sort of healer (because i enjoy it)...i guess the top healer i have played would be the CoH one.
MMO wish list:

Rogue from WOW
Battle-priest from Knight Online
Not sure if you would consider it a 'class' but I loved being a Bilger in Puzzle Pirates
Currently restarting World of Warcraft
Minstrel, DAOC is/was my all time favorite class out of any game.
