I have leveled to 31 on Lothar server. I found it to be extremely fun at startup and then by 30 it felt shallow. Now this isn't a bad this at all.. in fact it is awesome for the casual or younger gamers (the MMORPG MARKET IN WHOLE EVEN!!!) My big problem was there was no being unique. Again not a bad thing.. I just prefer the more complex character development. At anytime someone could think I want this or that class and be 60 in weeks. I guess I didn't like that... but again this is probably GOOD for most of the player base. Little time put in lots to show for it. Now I did enjoy the game, don't get me wrong... was just a little straight forward for me. My opinion, if it gets more people playing then great! There are always other games for those that don't like it (no I'm not getting EQ2, EVE online if anything).
WoW is rewarding up front and anyone can jump in and play... great game please give it a try!! I must recommend it for what it does have it does better then any other mmorpg.
Nothing against WoW it just was not for me.. share your thoughts but don't start freaking out and posting stupid stuff looking for attention.

the low lvl max, and people lvling so fast is what makes me not interested. One of the reasons I played AO for so long, was the lvl 200 cap. Took no life gamers 8 months-1 year to get there, took me 2 years. loongest I have ever played a game, of course they've ruined AO now, but thats besides the point.
Don't jump to conclusions so fast. If you are a hardcore player, you probably will level fast. I think you should go a few more levels and see what you think. The game is designed to slow down after level 30. Will it be as hard to reach end game as Everquest? Highly doubtful. The main reason being that a lot of people view that kind of grind as a major problem in a mmo game. Most people do not like to grind away at levels day after day.
You say the characters aren't complex? I don't get this. To me, the whole talent system allows for a very diverse group that is in the same class. For instance, a priest who specs Shadow will be played totally different than a priest who specs Holy. The same way as one who spreads out his talent points will be played a style that is his own. Spread this out over all the classes and I think it makes for a pretty diverse groups. ALso Hero classes are on the way.
I respect your opinion and you have to take into account that I am one of those casual gamers you are talking about. I played FFXI for a year and the grind was unbearable to me. Much to my chagrin, I am also turning into a fanboy of WoW, so my comments might be blinded for my love of the game.
Anyway, I would just ask you to repost to this form after 10 more levels and tell us what you think.
I can relate somewhat now that I'm in the upper 30's. I felt a little bit of the same way.
However, talents do make you a bit different from everyone else. Also, I know at least my role requires loads of button pushing. The skill of MMO's has always been with knowledge and reaction. What skill can I use to turn this bad situation into a win?
In that I've notice a huge difference between myself and how others play my same class. I'm not saying one is more correct than another, but the huge difference means there are different effective ways to "win" witch in turn means uniqueness between players.
further WoW is a young game. Every other MMO suffered from the same problems at this point. In time more will be added to give characters more diversity among there skill/ability lines.
Best Wishes

MMORPG's are like a first love, your compare every new relationship in the future to it. And even if a new game is better, it'll never be the same.

Achievers realise that killers as a concept are necessary in order to make achievement meaningful and worthwhile (there being no way to "lose" the game if any fool can "win" just by plodding slowly unchallenged). -bartle

i hit 40 and at the moment i think im done. I don't reall have any incentive for leveling, what got me to 40 was the prospect of getting the mount. Now why get to 60? so i can get better gear so i can do random pvp for no reason in some random field in the middle of nowhere.... not to mention from all the beta players saying hunters arent wanted in high level instances... makes it really fun leveling knowing that.
I think i'll stop untill they get honor system in pvp, or battlegrounds, or something that makes pvp actually fun. I mean i've done like 2-3 pvp raids, (well not a full raid just like a group going to a area) and its fun...at first... it gets boring real quick, especially because your like w00t i killed this guy? so what he comes back rezzes and fights again.... no reward no nothing.
even at 35 the quests started getting real repetitive, sure some were fun, but it gets boring with the same "kill 8 blah 8 blah 12 blah and 4 blah" or go bring me blahs head, or go kill blah and bring back 10 blah, or go kill blah and bring me his head. There are a few "spicy" quests, which are hella fun.
Ionno it just feels like theres something missing now at 40...... i dont know it just feels weird
Hrmmm.. My Hunter is lvl 30 right now and I'm loving the game just as much now as I ever did. I am tradeskilling and progressing talents (btw talents - an excellent idea - it gives characters the unique-ness that you think the chars lack in my opinion). OH! now if you aren't playing on a PvP server then yeah... maybe around the higher lvls it might get a little shallow but, even still I think on non pvp the exploration is where it's at. Then you are able to explore the World of Warcraft in it's entirety. It's been years since I have enjoyed a mmorpg this much!

Yeah, people never understand that power-levelers in any MMORPG will become high fast.
Bah, whoever is not interested in playing WoW cause power-levelers become too high too fast, then don't play MMORPGs. You'll always find power-levelers with no life that can invest more hours in the game compared to casual players.
I mean you people are so dumb. You're playing twice or three times less time than a no-life, and you complain they are twice the level that you are.
Isn't that logical? Even if you're playing an offline RPG. Let's say your friend and yourself buy KOTOR 2 the same day, you have a life and your friend has no job, dropped out of school and is lazy. While you're at work, he's at home playing KOTOR 2. 3 days later he calls you on the phone ranting how he finished KOTOR 2 in 3 days and it sucks cause the game isn't long, while you're still on the first planet.
Are you gonna start whinning that KOTOR 2 sucks too? Gimme a break.
Avoid WoW cause of your dumb excuse that no-life power-levelers are twice the level you are cause you have a life and they don't and spend twice the amount of time in WoW than you.
yes I agree the "Resting" system in WoW is useless. By coming back home from work and only having 20% of my XP bar as a "Bonus" and winning that 20% bonus XP in 15 minutes. It doesn't help casual gamers and isn't slowing down power-levelers. So what do you prefer instead? EQ2? There's people whinning that even EQ2 has people that are already at high levels in so little time.
I'll repeat it again for those that still don't understand... THEY ARE PEOPLE WITH NO LIVES! They just play MMORPGs all day and is the reason why they are at a higher level than you. Don't be jealous of people like that.

I think it's good that people are so upright with there opinions in this game, it puts a really good perspective for Blizzard Entertainment.
We gamers are not limited to a game, so that rocks!
