Are you serious? They really aren't very good at all. The only one that was decent at one point was Mabinogi. RoM is a joke with reliance on Mall, and Atlantica is just ok. They are usually extremely shallow games.
You're burnt out on MMOs. This, traditional level-based kind anyway.
Aion's early levels are extremely similar to WoW and the like, which is too bad because the whole focus of the game changes radically in the mid 20s.
Anyway, a lot of people are going to give up on the game after playing a few hours and feeling bored. It is extremely disappointing for the players who crave something new and can't stand this type of MMOs anymore.
For those people who are sick of this run-of-the-mill game play, advancement system, gear-based and the like, just stay away and don't bother trying it, you will be disappointed. You'll be doing boring easy quests to level up, get new skills and gear. Lvl25+ is kinda different, but most of these people won't be able to level this high due to it being BORING.
Wait on games such as Mortal Online, or just quite MMOs for a while and stick to single-player games.
So you guys seem to like PvP, and seem knowledgeable enough to know that for the most part from level 25-Max is in a PvP area, but you judged the game and wrote it off after never getting to 25 or even past lvl 10? Just making sure I am getting this right.
ok my play time is till lvl 4 then i left wasnt for me
now my view as a lot to do with that fact being
i go to other forum and see player posting 2 major issue
the fact that they dont have the choice they needed to hack the game where its has been release for months now
in order to be competitive in pvp
add to that the massive number of bot
makes me very afraid of this game
im not computer friendly enough to find ,let alone install and use hack
so when i read hack are mandatory to be successfull in( pvp) witch in my view would be the major aggro for me
i dont question,i know this game wont be for me
if i love pvp and pvp is flawed i cannot just put my head in the sand and ignore it
i donmt need to live the pvp my self to know
the player that eperienced that in the released version spoke the truth
one guy might be wrong
but not a whole comunity that have been playing that game for months
Im sorry for the people who thought it might be decent. I tried the beta even though I didn't want to and I didnt even get to 10. i knew it wasnt going to be a good game. I know its big in China or Korea wherever its from but I knew it wouldnt work here.

I think the community of MMORPGs has been killed the day WoW got released. Look at these crybabies
This has nothing to do with WoW. I do not understand why there is always someone blaming WoW. This game's problem is it offers nothing new.

A game is fun to play or it isn't. Why does anyone think that the fun has to wait for endgame?
I was disappointed at Aions clear lack of innovation. Wings were a good idea that of course was buried in the endgame for the most part because there is absolutely nothing else to drive you to level. Grind or not..
I'm not paying to play a game that isn't fun. I'm never again going to listen to those who say the fun begins at X. it is a game, if it isn't fun then whats the point.

I'm sorry, but I have not played this game yet, and I'm not going to say it is bad or not. What I am going to say is that I hope this is only your point of view bcoz I thought the same of EVERY other MMO i played and did not get to lvl 10..........

I didnt like it so I didnt force myself to get to lvl 10. Its not really a beta its a trail because this game is already out somewhere else. And if you can't enjoy a trail then you wont enjoy the game.

It didn't work for you, and probably many others considering the trolls around these forums (I'm not mentioning you are trolling).
It worked for me, and also many, many others. I managed to get immersion in the lore and environment, so it's being fun since level 1, especially since you don't get hand-holding easy leveling, neither a hardcore grindfest, it's a balance I'm enjoying.
Same here I canceled since they sold out to the carebears. Aion was suppose to have meaningful PVP but now it's all located in a playpen and they carebears get to go skipping through the rest of the world. When they give us back our forced PVP I might take a second look.
They have been pretty clear from the start. This is just players making assumptions. Besides, meaningful pvp is subjective. However, it has been said from the begining that the major fighting would be in the abyss and that the rifts would open up for a limited amount of time. At no point was this a FFA pvp game or anything close to it.
this game was never marketed as a lineage 3 type game.
As a flip to all that, there are pve players who don't want to play precisely because of the rifts and that there is a possibility that there will be pvp play where they don't want it.
So to chalk it up... this game is in the middle. Which it was always meant to be.
I can easily see why people don't like it. As for me I like it very much and it will become my main game.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
i could play the whole game in beta of korea and china .what is so much special about aion europe or amercia beta ? that they are not opening it up? are they hiding something ?? yes its the lack of end game content.they just want you to buy their boxes ,pay for subs for 2-3 months .so they can atleast generate revenue which they put up in the game. its pure negligence on plaync part .bad marketing practice really!!!i got an email from plaync stating that this will be their beta test .look closely and none of them states that you can play above 25 lvl . hird Closed Beta

Friday, July 17, 2009, 8 pm GMT to Monday, July 20, 2009, 8 pm GMT
Asmodians and Elyos, levels 1-25, and a first taste of the Abyss
So if I read your post right, you're saying it's a bad thing that they're not letting you play the whole game, and experience all the content before the game is actualyl released in the EU/NA markets?
That doesn't make any sense, and I can promise you that if they did it would be a much worse marketing strategy. "Great, Aion release day! I can't wait to get home and..oh hang on I've already played through 90% of the content during the trial weekends, guess I'll go to the pub instead."

well i have beta tested wow ,aoc ,warhammer online .none of the games had any restriction to play in beta . the only point i am making is if people in china and korea are playing the content upto lvl 60 and they allowed them to play the whole content even in beta of korea and china?? why not here?? what are they afraid of??if they wont test it .they would not know if there are performance issues and bugs .how will they correct it at launch?? will not the customers suffer who buy the game at launch .give a thought to my point with cool mind .and then tell me .i will agree with whatever argument you bring up next .

WAR was restricted to level 20 only.
AoC's beta was restricted to level 20, which was even worse because the entire game changed after 20 for the worse.
Sure, both WAR and AoC both had real betas as well which wern't capped but, guess what, this game already went through its beta phases back before it was released in korea. This is just the same sort of preview / stress test event that both WAR and AoC had and capped the levels on.

Hmm ...
I beta tested both AoC and WAR and I seem to recall them capping at lvl 20. If I would have been able to get out of Tortage in beta I highly doubt I would have bought 2 CEs, 1 SE, 3 Zboard keysets, a new PC and several upgrades for 2 other PCs.
Huge difference here though is that AION has been released for some time in Korea, and has undergone all beta testing and even some updates. So, by limiting us to the first 10 to 20 levels they are piling players into the same zones to make sure the servers can handle it. Also, they are working on translations which can take some time, as they not only need to translate but make it comprehensible to the western audience. In other words we are testing the localization as well as stressing the servers.

First of im also disepointed , they have had so much time in there hand and there grafics is bad , realy bad but not the char.
Crytech engine 2 isent what it looks like , i feel like im seeing bad close up.
Farcry is much better with its grafics
Anyhows
Its bad enought they have a flight limit and second i will say OMG restricted to areas.
I am also playing the Chinies Retail version , they still have the old Lineage 2 problem with not beeing able to swim.
They have to correct the Grafics to a more sharp one.
They have to correct the Flight time and areas , take them away from the game. before i can think of playing the game.
LOTRO is still the most good looking game out there.
System Specc
Intel I7 4770K 3,5 ghz
16Gb RAM 1600 mhz
Nvidia GTX 780

Still no Invert Y axis toggle, which is pretty danm strange since thats a staple of any game with mouse aiming. It better be in there at release.
