I work..i earn money..i do whatever i want with it, so i pre ordered MO..as a bonus i can test the game, if i dont like it its easy to sell the box on ebay for more money that the one i spend...
So WTF are these guys doing on MO foruns whining?if you dont want / or dont like the game just stay away from the forums...or else i will think you are a bunch of frustrated people that love the game but have some kind of brain tumor that makes you bash something that you love...lol
So take it easy...if the game sucks you will be the first to know..and dont be worried about the money i payed for the LE afterall...its MY MONEY...
Like here is an exemple...AOC..its the most expensive game ever...any amount of money you pay for it its already too mutch...the game is that bad...but thats just my opinion...and im not going on the AOC forums saying that...if i dont like it i dont even talk about it...only if i like something i will post and talk about...

Yeah it happens pretty regularly. Up until recently it was Aion, after DF crashes and burns im sure it will start on SWTOR and on and on. To be fair i did pay $5 to play in the Aion betas so im not totally inocent of being foolish myself

Well, mostly it is people defending the pre order prices I think, at least that seems to be the incentive for most thread starters here.
Thing is that while the flamers are obviously getting the urge to get up close and personal, they fail to adress the facts which are repeated time and time again;
Yes, it is a risk to pre order the game at this stage.
Yes fans are more than willing to take that risk because of what they know of the game at this stage and it is their own choice; they have been asking for a boxed edition themselves.
No, a pre-order of a limited edition boxed copy including VAT and shipping is not expensive compared to other limited editions.
Yes, you can also get a moderately priced digital download soon.
No we are not paying so much just to play a beta; we pay for a limited edition and the game itself.
No, SV isn't being greedy, the boxes where a big investment for them and they need them off their shelves.
Etc, etc, ad nauseum.

In Sweden (you know, same country as Starvault resides in) I can buy ANY PC game for 4-500 SEK including box, taxes and shipping. As comparison I paid about 800 SEK for MO. You do the math.
Where is the download edition? How can I buy it? I cant you say because they are not available and is only the devs say they will be reasonably priced. How stupid of me not to take the words of the dev of said game as dogma. Not like game developers have ever stretched the truth or anything...

We are not paying for beta? Ok so if this is not paid beta then what is it? It cant be a pre order of the game since preorders ARE CHARGED WHEN THE FINAL GAME IS SHIPPED. So what is it? Paid beta... you have even mentioned yourself that they need the money to finish the game and the game is in beta so by simple deductive reasoning then it is PAID BETA.
SV isnt being greedy? Oh really. Do you know that most private corporations has an obligation not only to any possibly stockholders but also for the investor TO MAKE PROFIT. That is how capitalism works. You sell products and you make profit, or you go bankrupt. To make profit you need to be greedy, in a way, and as far as I know Starvault is not a state backed company nor is it an ideal organisation. SO THEY NEED TO MAKE PROFIT.

Oh boy...if you buy a game in a store the box gets replaced. So there are always new boxes hence there is no limit theoretically. MO offers only 10k boxes and that`s it. They will most likely never offer boxed versions again so you could call that limited. How you interpret that is your problem but not really a matter of debate i guess. And "ANY PC GAME" in the store comes in a crappy paper box you just throw away.
And why do you still ramble on about the DD? People explained it multiple times to you already...or how about informing yourself? The DD will be available on Monday in the same store you already preordered the box.

I am not rambling about DD, it is you, or rather DarkPony, who are stating as a fact that it will be available on on Monday (or soon, whatever that means). The devs have said that IF there are any copies left THEN there will be a digital download available on monday and seeing as they have had an "immense success" selling the boxed version then probably there wont be many, if any, copies left.
I am not saying there will be or not, since it is unknown at this point. It is you and your posse of Starvault fanboys that are claiming that as a fact.

Another bottom line; if you think the box costs too much whether that price is reasonable or an utter rip off, by all means, don't buy it. Noone is forcing you to do so.

I dont think it is good to come of in front of your future customer base as a money-grabbing corp, that has most likely discouraged alot of people from buying this game and there is no justification for it. There was one limited edition, the loot bag, and they could have charged whatever they wanted for it because it is a limited edition. But there is no excuse for charging higher than the normal price for the normal boxed version, none.
And no, "they need the money" is not a justification nor it is an excuse but it is rather an explanation which does not make it ok. Rather that makes things even worse as it signals to potential buyers that the company behind the game are running out of money.
Furthermore the game was advertised, for a long time, as being released "summer 2009". Now, we all know, they have said end of 2009 "oct-dec" so who knows how much more it will get pushed back. I dont think anyone has forgotten the constant delays of Darkfail. So they want more than average price for an MMORPG that may be released in 5-6 months.
All of these are NOT good signs for the last hope we got for an FFA PvP MMORPG. You can pretend it is, but pretending will do nothing about the facts of the current situation.

The DD is available on Mon. and you can buy if from the online store like you did with the boxes. The devs have already said it's going to be cheaper than DF's DD and that was 50$, so less than that. Besides, if you're that upset about it or too broke to buy it, it's simple, don't and just QQing and trolling.
Yes if you like to spend a lot of money to work for them, it's your choice, but we have the right to say it's too expensive. And are you sure you will be able to sell the game for more money if the game sucks?
