Can i drop an item on the ground and see it there? Because i want to pile all my stuff in a corner of my house....i know weird and that their is only so many slots but...

Ya, your house is only good for furniture and quest trophies. For storage you need to use the bank. If you want more bank slots, get yourself some boxes and you can use them in the bank like bags.
As for how looting works in the lotto system.. I heard that everyone is "weighted" by the value of all of the armor/items in their possession when they submit a lotto vote. The "lightest" (person with the least valuable stuff) has a greater chance to win the lotto than someone who's got alot of expensive items.

if the thing drops an item, the corpse will stay
so you double click on the corpse, and a window with everything left in the corpse opens up
if you're along, you can click loot
if you're in a group, and you have the group options set to lotto, then you can submit your lotto ticket
items that are remotely valuable drop in chests on the ground.
some, if not most, chests have traps that have to be disarmed
or felt through, lol

there is no dropping things
to get rid of it, you either trade it, sell it, put it in your bank, or destroy it.
