No, they lied and said it is beta, thisis really early ALPHA.

beta would be agame where you can battle monsters and the game is playable but where you are lofor bugs and exploits, etc.

They are still buildfing the basics of this game and its world. This is clearly an WAlpha and way over a year before even a beta is really ready.

You must be the average idiot, they "test" with people , how the hell else do you think they can test server stress, login so on? It isnt an amature group, they have in house testers lol go troll somemore forums you fail at flaming.

Who cares? We that want to play MO payed for the game not the testing, the testing allows us input. We paid for the final release. If its a pre beta build so be it, I would rather have input from that stage than a beta that is soon to release.

AoC is a perfect example, the beta was fairly polished and the release was about the same, a polished beta.

Lol, if someone quits the game based on beta I will be glad that they did, especially if they have already bought the game I can understand maybe people that stopped playing the game while beta is going on and checking every once in awhile but the people that are in beta thx to the pre order I highly doubt they will quit on a whim.

Already going back to prices thought you trolls got that outta your system by now, No one knows what will happen with the game it may sink it may soar and if the foundation that I have seen is followed by as much passion as the rest of the game I believe this game will soar.

THis is not quoted as tspeaking to you, but speaking to the mass, as this is the prime example of why Vanguard failed at launch, as well as failed the fans. It is when you have this kind of minority testing a game that "already kknows it will soar" without even testing the game for 2 months.

This my second prediction for 2009 :

Do to thelack of quality assurance,, this game will be released broken, like Vanguard. It will never generate enough revenue to continue for more then a year with out an insane monthly fee and because of the markets push to free to play a broken , unploished title just doesn't any business to be in the market. It will also be a wake up call to other indie developers, "Mortal Online is the worse example to follow when going into a beta cycle"

I seriously feel that they failed already,  no game is worth the prices they are displaying and that leads me to another point about these developers, arrogance, something we all learned something about with Brad McQuaid. Arrogance doesn't create games, talent does, and from the login screen shot to some "beta" images, these people have as much talent as a poorly constructed hl mod.

You know what ruined the MMO Genre?  3 things.

    1)  Forums that allow people to voice their often misguided opinions...this spills into #2

    2) People like you who blab their proporganda about games that they have NO IDEA about.  You whine about money, you whine about the fact people are paying to beta..you whine about things that you yourself are not doing.  Why?  Because you are a bored troll looking to cause a stir or whine about why the world of MMOs are not perfect.  This leads to #3

    3) The people who read posts from people or should I say trolls...like you.  The internet is Viral...and there are enough ignorant people out there...that read 1 post from people like you and then agree because it sounds correct or maybe convinced them somehow....all of a sudden, THEY hate the game and post about it somewhere else...eventually the game builds a bad rap and sinks faster then the titanic.  In the days of Everquest and UO when forums were not popular and widely used...you never saw trolls flaming games or people reading about it in the calibur you see now.  You wanna know why Vanguard failed? Because of 2 reasons....A. Sigil over-hyped the game and B. People flamed the game so hard for it...that over 50% of the gaming population never really gave it a shot...they agreed and walked away.

The moral of this is....dont be sheep.  Try a game if it sounds fun and give it a real test....if you can afford what it charges...then do it...if not...then dont but for gods sake dont take the advice of some online entity on what to do with your time or money.....use your OWN brain.

I am just going to quickly toss in my two cents and then I will just go away.

I have seen on more than one occasion small independent game developments produce just enough content to feed the buzz, cash in, and then pull the plug.

Primarily because the industry has zero regulation, and gaming is a billion dollar or more industry, the ground is fertile for savy scam artist to fleece a large public that in all honesty has zero recourse.

Would you buy a computer that is just a case, without knowing what is inside if anything? If you would gimme a call I'd love to sell you a computer..

They lied about nothing { Mod Edit }. They told us how they would be running their beta. Starting off with basic server stability. Thats why theres nothing there, they dont want it there. You expect everything to be there at Day 2 of beta? If they throw everything at us at once how much you reckon is going to be tested? Fuck all. With nothing to do, the people who are there to play will get bored and log off, those of us there to test will do the testing.

If you went and actually read the communication between the Devs and the players youd know what was happening, but clearly thats too complicated for you people.

Also out of you 3 flaming retards how many of you are actually in Block A? Id say none? Sounds like someones a little jealous.

Sol stop trolling and actually read my post this in general "if the foundation that I have seen is followed by as much passion as the rest of the game I believe this game will soar." I am saying by what I have seen if they polish everything else as much, I believe the game will soar, I never said I believe this game will soar off of what I have seen so far.

I hope you have patience, this game will not be at AOC's launch position (75% done) for at least a year or two lol

Right now 2009 July-Dec. will be Alpha and maybe early beta testing once they get the basics running.

2010 will be Closed Beta for at least 6 months followed by stress testing and bigger Closed/Open beta

2011 game shoudl be ready for a public release that would not embarrass the Devs.

If the game gets to that point, congrats, you payed 2 years in advance for a game. By then I will have played Aion, DDO, FFXIV, Star Wars and who knows how many other games.

Whole point is, why are you funding a company to make a game? They should not be asking for any money in alpha.

Maybe some people thing it's worth throwing some money in the pot, in order to support a small developer to make the game they want.

And yet, all this "funding the indie dev" talk and game like Saga of Ryzom, a brilliant peice of gaming, goes on under funded and under valued by the same people who want something "different"

I think this is all the biggest bullshit , no one has actually ordered anything, and it is a build up to an epic sack of Dark and Light.  Think the people outside of the hype circle that did pay for something, you willsee you will be continously pushed back from actually getting into the game world.

Well I trust Swedish developers alot more than american to be honest, when it comes to indie companies. Just look at game making history and you will see why. And Mortal Online is make from Swedish company and is a very independent one. You will see. Atleast they say what is really up rather than dancing around subjects with fancy words to make smokescreen to hide the truth.

Who says you cant play more than one game ? I am funding a game company I believe in, and for the sake of the indie gaming companies to come out of the closets and show themselfs and their ideas. And also to get rid of the wowclones and the microtransaction game that are flooding the market as we speak.

If you are in the beta, you just broke the NDA, which is forbidden on this forum.

Some people are so quick to add a reply without giving it any thought, like its Beta what do you expect and such,

Well a game is Beta right up to the last  2 weeks when it Generaly goes Open beta, so to say its beta like that means something about a game and its not ready is pure rubbish, If a company offer a Pre order for a game and also offer beta access that means the game is close to being finished.

So if that game is nowhere near ready then the company are pretty much robbing people of their money making them believe its near completetion with the pre order.

Give it some thought before waffle..  If its not ready and not even close THEN money should Not be taken. I have read the site and even tho I did not buy the pre order it read to me at the time as it was near ready, if this it not true then its deception

I see you you are happy with not supporting DarkFail.
The more strange it seems to be that you are so eager to support another game that will fail in the same way DarkFail did. Didn't you learn anything?
