I'll be happy if they keep the same jobs in the game as long as they expand on them more. SAM,MNK and War need to be more diverse. The mage job is pretty balanced but dont make RDM a back up healer, in fact i dont even think RDM should heal at all if should just use a different style of magic like BLU and not be limited to half white and half dark magic.

The sphere grid is unique and interesting but I still expect something different. Otherwise in their interviews they could have just as easily said "sphere grid." If that's all it is I'll be disappointed. Besides, not only would it be an overwhelmingly expansive grid, but in the essence of levels and jobs it doesn't seem very practical. It worked in Final Fantasy X because each character was made into a specific type. Crossing over was an endgame novelty and the only characters I invested that much effort toward were Yuna and Kimahri; only Yuna could summon and only Kimahri could use enemy skills. In the case of Final Fantasy XII, everyone was just a clone.

Red mage does have its own magic, but here it's limited to the few en-spells that give elemental properties to weapons. Many jobs have been combined into one, just like some jobs have been duplicated with slight variations to make more. For instance, corsair is both gunner and gambler, red mage is both white mage and black mage, scholar is a variation of the white/black mage, a ninja was a thief-mage hybrid, samurai and monk are both warriors with different fighting methods, while a dragoon has tamed a wyvern. That's how I see it, more or less. So the only jobs I could really have fun with were the ones that stood out. Coincidentally, these were summoner and blue mage.
