They've said a few times in interviews that they would't remove old world content to replace it with new.

It makes no sense to remove content when you could just add more somewhere else and have more total content.

Whats strikes me interesting about this set of leaks is how EXTREMELY similar they are to the "leaks" that got out about TBC back when it was first announced.

Blizzard can be flexible on stuff like that.  They are currently implementing a 'trial run' of this by revamping the old Onyxia raid encounter for level 80 raiding.  So while they might not be likely to do a massive revamp of the Old World they are quite willing nowadays to reuse the 'better' pieces of old content that do not see much use anymore.

redoing on tiny instance vs remaking the entire original world.

You though hillsbrad was bad when the alliance were 10 levels above the horde.. try wetlands where you'd have level 30 alliance leveling beside level 80+ with 280%+ speed flying mounts?

That just begs of lost subscriptions.

I could swear I read the original post where someone was doing the wild speculation thing and came up with the "Thousand Needles will be flooded and called Thousand Islands" joke.  I come back a week later and all of a sudden it is being taken as an expansion rumor that people really expect to be true?  Or is there some level of humor still going on here that I missed?

    o.0

(Not that major changes would not be neat to see, but I just don't expect it, even with phasing.  I'll be perfectly happy to eat those words (with Thousand Island dressing, of course) if I turn out to be wrong.)
