Got to love that troll referance.
Perks is a fun thing for the game it like picking out a gift for yourself.
PRE-ORDERS ARE STILL AVAILABLE THAT CAN GIVE ME MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE PROBLEM IS... I CANT CANCEL... REFUNDS NOT ALLOWED.. SO GUESS WHAT HAPPENS NOW.
I CANT CANCEL TO GO TO THE STORE TO GET THE GAME AT THE SAME PRICE TO PLAY EARLIER AND GET $5 CASH
SO WHAT AM I GONNA DO, I CALL MY BANK AND CHARGE BCAK THE ITEM.
Ok, I show you how wrong this is, and hot this effect other business bottom line.
I JUST DID A CHARGEBACK WITH MY BANK AND COST THIS COMPANY $25 CHARGEBACK FEE (those who have merchant accounts understand this, if not, if someone charges back item, the merchant usually is FINED, $25 or so)
PLUS THE STORE NOW LOST A SALE AND AN ITEM THAT WILL TAKE SPACE IN INVENTORY NOW THAT DIDNT BEFORE
SO I AS A CUSTOMER CAN GET WHAT SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO ME, a $5 bonus coupon just cost SOME OTHER RETAILER
$50, plus customer service time, plus administrative costs, plus proccessing fee's, + FINES!!
So this retailer who did nothing wrong, as was doing great thing for product owner, now loses business to a competing retailer... at the same cost....
you people need to wake up and see things more clearly..
They give you a choice of who you will do business with and that is immoral? If you want the 5 dollars go to EB, if you want something else go to amazon, etc, thats a big deal to you? I congradulate you then, your life must be free of any real issues. I am envious. Other topics I would suggest for future rants; "Oh my god, Burger King is giving away different happy meal toys for BOYS than for GIRLS! THATS IMMORAL! WE SHOULD GET THE SAME DEAL!!!"
"Blasphemy! I could choose between Time Warner Cable and Sattelite, and one offered me a deal for HBO and Showtime but the other one wanted me to pay full price for both of them! HBO AND SHOWTIME ARE THE DEBBILL!!!"
"I was going to take the highway to get where I was going, but there is a 2 lane road that goes there and its shorter distance!!!! THATS COMMUNIST!"
"THE STARGOAT IS ATTACKING ME AYIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

Lets try some plain business sense.
First, Company A goes to Atari/Cryptic and signs up to sell the game. Part of that deal is perks, items that help sell the product, that NO ONE ELSE can offer. The company pays Atari/Cryptic for those perks.
The idea being that the perks that Company A offers will be of more interest then those of Company B. If both A and B offered the same thing then Atari/Cryptic wouldn't be able to get more money from them. In addition, both Companys can get an idea of how many pieces to order to maximize the store profit and have fewer leftover items to move.
One of the reasons that the subscription specials were reinstated was people were cancelling way to many pre-orders that the company already paid for.
Hello, you have a point, unfortuantely its not a good one and here is why.
Any competiting IPO would sue that company for UNFAIR BUINESS PRACTICES, and just would never be accepted by even the company doing so... You can't commit one company over another in this way to gain a retail edge over the others... That is totally illegal guy. And no company would do that because that other retailing outlet would be liek FU, go away we dont care and never list their items again... And if you know retail, you would realize the power of publishers and relationships here wouldnt allow that for a single moments thought
Obviously you haven't run a business. When you see coupons and giveaways in advertising, things like 0% down and 0% interest for 24 months, those are the same thing. In addition, Company A and Company B both can have perks and they BOTH don't want the same ones. Each company sells what they feel will intice their player base. If only Company A could have it that is "restraint of trade" and is illegal.
the whole I DO THIS SOMETIMES TO MAKE MYSELF SOUND MORE IMPORTANT OR MAKE MY ARGUMENT
MAGICALLY HAVE MORE MERIT thing is really annoying. Not to mention that this is just crybabying at it's best. When speaking to different businesses, it's commonplace to come up with different terms. It is not illegal. If you don't like that one distributor is offering, don't purchase it. Obviously you thought you were getting a good enough deal when you purchased it originally. Less QQ pl0x.
i pre-ordered from gamestop a few months ago and i got what i wanted out of the deals being offered. didnt all the details of what you got when you preordered from different companies get posted?
looks liek the paid troll is bouncing to a new account, What person in the right midn can actually debate the fact someone is paying more for less and walk a straight line? Seriously if you are against this idealogy, you might be a communist, you definately are not a consumer.. Whats funny is this... 99% of these people won't or CAN'T even pay for the game or a lifetime susbscription, but they are here arging.. its just $5 FOR MY TRUE READERSTHAT DONT ENGAGE IN REAL THOUGHTS AND ETHICS, aint that IRONIC?
Honestly, you are very paranoid. One person isn't bouncing to many accounts. Its that most of us here don't share your sense of outrage, so we are all sound alike when talking to you. It's pretty much how anyone would talk to a ridiculous child who is ranting about how the world is unfair. a mixture of condescension and pity, with some of us having differing degrees of patience for your outrage at finding that out.
We are not "Arging" with you, we are "Larfing" at you.
Your concept of communism is somewhat flawed. That isn't surprising given your general outlook on things. In your world, everyone would have exactly the same deal. That is more my understanding of how communism would work. In ours, we get to choose who we do business with.
I suppose though that is the difference between crazyverse (where you live along with your "TRUEREADERS" ) and the rest of us.
You are boring me now though with this nonsense. Can you go on to some other nonsense/trivial concern instead of just focusing on the fact you don't get the same perk at every retail outlet?
You realize of course, that by charging back through your bank for a product you agreed was nonrefudable that you have violated your agreement with your credit card issuer and may have actually committed fraud? Furthermore, depending on the state you live in, you may be subject to criminal prosecution exactly as if you had written a bad check, with penalties ranging from simple fines all the way up to actual jail time.
First off, this occurs in all MMO releases that I have seen since AoC. Different distributors are willing to cut different deals with Cryptic to sell the product. If you didnt get $5 credit its not cryptic's fault, blame the distributor for not working to get that benifit. It's like buying a car....Many people sell the same vehicle but the perks and deals you get at each lot are different. Gotta shop
Champions Online introduces even more bad business as it appears, not all RETAIL / DIGITAL DISTRUBTIONS GET EQUAL PERKS Kinda sad, that if you PRE-ORDER a game, that you have to lose some benefits others may receive, regardlEss of what may have or have not been relased by company.. It's not a customers main purpose to have to be shopping to buy an item unyet released and lose out on some bonsues such as HEADSTART access, but even more importantly NOT RECEIVE $5 credit in Cryptic Cash
other retailers are offering.. Thats right, check your orders people, if you ordered from the wrong place, you will NOT get $5 credit that other places offer, for the same price in the same game, at the same time at the same FULL RETAIL PRICE This is just bad business, totally unetchical and I hope you complain, currently from the few complains, the response to them noone seems to care.. Maybe most of them are forum dwellers.. Retail business is not forum fanbois, and there is no excuse for having only some retailers have these EXTRA PERKS.. This is just immorral. So some people who ordered on D2D and AMAZON months ago, (the true investors) before most of this stuff was mentioned, which makes them MORE IMPORTANT to Cryptic than any defending forum dweller. who is going to come here and defend them.. Or moreso, some people in certain parts of the world get PISSED ON, because they dont have these stores or they won't deliver to them or they simply cost TOO MUCH MORE for shipping etc. There is no excuse for this.. and I think everyone who pre-ordered should have full refund rights or full rights to FREEBIES of their friggan choice..... Let's even go another example.. I wanted the backpack, for space right off the bat, i know ill need as I am a crafter... I dont want no item from GameStop that i dont like.. but I know have to order from GameStop because it gives $5 FREE??
Its called Capitalism, the best system known to man. We dont need socialist gaming. Its a free market for each distribution point to give whatever deals they want and let teh customer decide.
Its called Capitalism, the best system known to man. We dont need socialist gaming. Its a free market for each distribution point to give whatever deals they want and let teh customer decide.
Oh why bother, if you havn't realized it yet this troll has moved onto another website, another forum where he started another thread where he complains at having to pay the same price for the Boxed version vs the Downloaded version ...... his argument will be since the DL version cost Cryptic less to make they should offer more perks than the Boxed Retail version, he'll end his initial post claiming this is a plot by Roper to drain more money from his customers pockets and that no respectable company would do the same.
Since I will not be paying for any perks, or indeed using any, this one is a non-issue for me.
Other than Bill Roper is a dick. Which he is and adding micro-transactions to a subscription simply means I will pay neither but instead finish the game in a months time rather than take more time.
Likewise I would never pay the same for a download as i would a box. Let alone more.
With regards to the the issue at hand, the deal is clearly written on the front of the box. If you wantt he one with $5 micro-transactions free, buy that one.
If you want the one with a beta account and headstart, get that.
TY for the heads up on their being a choice ot titles to buy.
They give you a choice of who you will do business with and that is immoral? If you want the 5 dollars go to EB, if you want something else go to amazon, etc, thats a big deal to you? Ughm are you serious dude, you are the one obviously looking for angles since you hate negativity.. Coupons are paid for by the MFR, not made by the company lol... The company turns them into the MFR company and gets paid that money from the MFR Company... OMFG, you are sad sad little man.
As for 0% down thats like not even a comparison, thats a sales incentive to get you to buy from the company and a competing sales ad.. Has nothing to do with the item in general... Also remember all items have full retail price... and that was paid in this respect,, one company is not giving away less because the item is sold for less.. in this regard the item is FULL RETAIL PRICE, the same price across the board... another failed troll attempt.. keep them coming..
This whole argument is ridiculous..you'd think the OP has never pre ordered a game of any sort in his life. Its business...this is how businesses run...go to 4 different stores and you see 4 different offers on certain products. I can go to a gas station, a walgreens, and a grocery store and look at their prices on soda and notice a huge difference due to the distrubting deal that the STORES corporations make with the distrubtion companies. Its what creates competition. Games are the same way and have been for years. hell the first ever game I remember clearly that did this was Soul Calibur. Depending on where you bought it from or what machine you bought it for determined on which special unlock character you got.
Crying fowl at CO for doing the same thing without charging you different prices is just utterly ridiculous. This is NOT a socialist country where everything is frigging fair and equal. Those sorts of things always fall on their ass.
Funny how every new game that releases as far as MMOs has atleast 1 or 2 people that cry over the pre order offers. Its a frigging FREEBIE choose which one you want and take it damn there's no cost difference between the offers.
LOL, Yet another wrong assumption, god this is classic forum dribble here i see..
Again my points are undebatable which is why the other angles of attack are incoming, they have no points, they just want to argue against negativity... Sorry, you need a valid point to attack OP.. Fact is the attackers simply cant stand negativity.. These people are called Antiwhiners. They simply cant handle any form of complaint.. So they're whole lives they go on forums to attack with any angle they can such as, trolling, intigating, making up stories of other forums to OP supposedly made... Pretty pathetic..
Facts are facts.. how would you like to own a business, and deal with 150 chargebacks today, im sure D2D is going to get a SHITLOAD of them today.... for the mere reason, someone can pay the same full price at a competing store... get a retail copy of the game, for the same price and MORE BONUSES, and MORE CREDIT, and A 3 day headstart to boot... and order right now this very minute, even though the other guy pre-ordered 3 months ago.. hahahaha
The poor customer charges back cuz he is wronged, who gets fucked, the business.. But yet the OP is clearly wrong here.. LOL
If i was D2D, i'd be filing the lawsuit to rack up a few free million right now

God your such a frigging NOOB try increasing your post count with something worth while instead of worthless drivel. If you want to live in a socialist do as I say everyone lives equal frigging go to China. BTW you can't charge back on D2D not after OB has gone through. It was clearly stated what the Freebies were anyone that failed to understand that is in the idiotic wrong and their CC company should tell them to shove it and pay it.
btw if someone Charged back on me I'd do the same thing my father does. Go after them to the full extent of the law.
Ughm,me go away??? If I recall correctly, THIS IS MY THREAD DUDE! You are bored but tou seem to have interest here you keep coming back with your fucking condescending bullshit.. Uhm, okay, lets see you have no point, only that you think im someone else... you have only assumptions, and you some very wierd opinions.. All have been stated.. noone cares and noone will... So i guess your done, bye bye now
You are making it sound like D2D (and therefore anyone who bought it through them) got screwed, which isn't the case. D2D had the same opportunity to make a deal for pre-order perks as gamestop or walmart or best buy, and they chose not to. It is a purchasers responsibility to search out the product and see what deals are from where and figure out the best option for them, not Cryptic's. Cryptic's only responsibility here is to make deals with the various retailers to sell the game, what the deal is is between Cryptic and the retailer.
If your retailer didn't get the perks you wanted, then that isn't Cryptic's fault, it is your retailer for not making a better deal. If you are disappointed with that, cancel the pre-order and order from someone else, or next time wait before pre-ordering to see what deal suits you best.
I recently have done just that. I had a pre-order for a game when it first came to market, found out later that there was a collector's edition out that suited me better, canceled and then reordered. it isn't that hard.
#1 you are wrong in your assumptions of what these companies did or did not do.. First of all, the retailers contain the upperhands on products.. Do you realize how many companies would love to get their products in these stores and simply do not have the power to do so... Trust me the publisher dont choose or care to choose perks from anyone.. they call the shots and thats final.
2ndly, this is not what even pre-orders are about, and thats kind of the jist of things.. we are suppose to be helping the company out making a pre-order, and also wanting to get the game on the same day everyone else is.. there shouldnt be segregation in this matter.. It's not good, its not right, and yes, its not fair. Once again, not everyone has the ability to buy the game from the headstart provider, whether due to location, or pricing, or whatever, reason does not matter, the same price should not be giving to the customer, why is it the customer fault? again your reasoning is very poor... look you now have 15,000 disgruntled customers, cuz your distributor said no we dont want that deal? What does D2D have do to with quantity, its digital non existant intangible product... Seriously you are wrong.. nice try.. but nope.. keep trying though, i am interested in a debate.
oh also, Ughm, yes D2D did get screwed, because i have just charged back my pre-order.. Since i can still at this tiem go elsewhere and get a better deal, hell yeah, I asked them for a refund.. they denied.. i charged it back.. now they get fined.. of course they will fight, the chargeback, but i will win, for one, i never chargedback anything in 10 years and pretty much ues my card daily.. 2ndly i have a very valid point.. i am paying same for less for an item that is not even on the market yet.... To tell me i cant get a refund is one thieng... unfortuantely if you knew your rights, in my location anyway, you cant do that on an intangible item that is not even given to me yet... know your rights.. D2D will get pounded on this one
No, go explore principals, #1 you are wrong in your assumptions of what these companies did or did not do.. #1 You contradict yourself. You say the retailers have the upperhand, yet the publishers call the shots and that is final. Which is it? If it is the retailers that indeed do have the upper hand, then D2D did a poor job of negoceating their upperhand to get the same perks as other retailers. If the publisher calls the shots, then why have perks at all. Pre-orders and perks are all about getting the player to purchase. The publisher wants them to buy, and the retailer wants to them to buy from their particular store. You may believe differently, but the retailers and the publishers do have deals to have different perks for different retailers. A publisher doesn't just say "Hmm, ok, let's give Gamestop this, and amazon this, and best buy this...and screw D2D". They make deals, that is what business is about. The perks that the retailer and the publsier come up with are to entice you to buy from one retailer over another. Otherwise they WOULD all be the same. It is the same principle when I got to multiple stores to find a deal on a new TV, see who has the best offer that suits my needs on the product I am looking for.
#2 Ok, let us use your concept of segregation and use a totally different product other than a computer game. Say I am in the market for a new toiletseat, and I go to Home Depot and buy one. But then after doing some research I find out that for the same price (or even cheaper), I could have gotten one that is only available in Japan, that has a butt washer, and warms itself, and lowers the lid automatically but I can't get it because I don't live in Japan. Should I be mad ? if so who should I be mad at? The toilet seat makers for not making them in the US? Home Depot for not importing from Japan?
While I agree that the above example is extreme as it involves a physical item, where as software does not, the theory is the same. Just because something is offered somewhere else for the same price that has more perks, doesn't mean I am entitled to get that item if I purchase from somewhere else or that item is not available to me for whatever reason.
I JUST DID A CHARGEBACK WITH MY BANK AND COST THIS COMPANY $25 CHARGEBACK FEE (those who have merchant accounts understand this, if not, if someone charges back item, the merchant usually is FINED, $25 or so)
PLUS THE STORE NOW LOST A SALE AND AN ITEM THAT WILL TAKE SPACE IN INVENTORY NOW THAT DIDNT BEFORE SO I AS A CUSTOMER CAN GET WHAT SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO ME, a $5 bonus coupon just cost SOME OTHER RETAILER
$50, plus customer service time, plus administrative costs, plus proccessing fee's, + FINES!!
So this retailer who did nothing wrong, as was doing great thing for product owner, now loses business to a competing retailer... at the same cost.... you people need to wake up and see things more clearly..
Sooo you're saying you cost a company all that over $5? Just put another $5 down at a different retailer. It's honestly not a big deal......
You can still pre-order the game, and get in some cases MORE PERKS, and $CRYTPIC CASH, and HEAD START ACCESS (starts tommorow) if you simply chargeback your D2D purchase since they wont refund you and simply place an online order at one of the other stores, since you dont need the box, you can download client on champions-online.com site right now. So you dont have to wait for the box to get shipped to you..
So, you can pay $49.99 PLUS TAX, for a digital download, (that will have to be upgraded anyhow with the 2-4 gigs of patches) s
And get a backpack perk and have to wait till september to download and play..
OR YOU CAN
go to ebgames.com RIGHT NOW STILL AVAILABLE and pay $49.99
and get free items $5 cryptic cash free in your account for in game purchases, and start playing tommorow by doing an available digital download RIGHT NOW (DOH!)
Which of course also gives you the actual physical copy of game, manual and other goodies plugged inside.

Gotta shop
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
This has nothing to do with choice..
Yes you have the choice to get $credit or not... Gee.. i'll go the not route... Why is that an option is the point. But arguing with you is pointless. I got this angle mesage from the guy you are trolling over ther eon the COH forums and he is VERY CORRECT in that the company is wrong.... But I believe you as you state on their forums are indeed an employee of cryptic, for all those that are listening.. There is a message, read his forum messages on COH forums, he does implicably state he is a paid forum employee ffor Cryptic..
PLUS AS YOU CAN TELL THIS TROLL IS SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL OF REASON WITH RIDICULOUS COMPARISONS ThAT ARE NOT IN THE SAME BALLPARK
NUFF SAID..
All kidding aside,

LOL
If i was D2D, i'd be filing the lawsuit to rack up a few free million right now
All kidding aside,
Peter Porker
So i guess your done, bye bye now
All kidding aside,
Peter Porker
ROFL, my post count? yeah man, im like better than you cuz i has a number
All kidding aside,
Peter Porker
No, go explore principals,
#1 you are wrong in your assumptions of what these companies did or did not do..
All kidding aside,
Peter Porker
oh also, Ughm, yes D2D did get screwed, because i have just charged back my pre-order..
All kidding aside,
Peter Porker
Come on Pete old chap, your hardly trying now, i mean your thread on the CO forums is upto 103 posts and this one has only just reached 50.
http://forums.champions-online.com/showthread.php?t=43610
153 posts and not one single post inagreement with you, going for some sort of record?
Sooo you're saying you cost a company all that over $5? Just put another $5 down at a different retailer. It's honestly not a big deal......
so let me get this straight. i now can just buy the game and get better perks and stuff than i can with doing the pre-order and get the game cheaper?
Which of course also gives you the actual physical copy of game, manual and other goodies plugged inside.
makes a lot of sense eh?
