Players stick to axis or allied becauase it takes months to learn the sounds of weapons. If you switch sides after months (or years) of acclimating yourself to the sounds of friendly weapons fire and the sounds of enemy weapons fire, it becomes not only confusing but very distressful. SOUND is very important, since there's no radar showing enemy positions.
Changing sides isn't that easy, that's why when a player picks a side, even randomly, they end up playing that side forever. So players can't just pick up and go play the other side now that the axis side is totally gimp, and it is total allied easymode.
There is no radar, and there is no one holding your hand. If your Spawning place get camped you must regain it little by little ~ did it just few hours before today ~.
It's not ballanced, and Axis is always overpopulated, so the Allies come to be the underdog. I play Allied because its not so interesting visually - the Axis is very... Axisly, you know - but the hard work turning it on against an overpopulated side takes a lot of time and becomes interesting and dangerous, what i like more.
The game is not for everyone. But it is worth a try.
I will stay there for long. Allies are doing well this campaing. Hope we win
the air war stays predominatly allied because the spitfire is made to turn,it retains energy in a sustained turn better than any plane. its not nerfed.
people fly spitfires because banking and yanking, fighting blackouts and doing stunts is what people like when they fly/dogfight.
thats all nice and fine, but you would be surprised how many times youll see a bunch of spits down on the deck circle jerking around having a merry ole time, then suddenly some hotshot 109 driver comes screaming down from 15000 ft (with full controll over his ride that spits dont enjoy going that fast) and blows someone into the afterlife, and proceeds to zoom back up into the stratosphere with half a dozen spitfires trailing that think they are going to catch him. only to see the 109 loop over and blow away one of those spits that are now hanging on theyre props like so many fish in a barrel.
circle jerking on the deck is fun,no doubt about that. but dont think the spitfire is the end all beat all do anthing plane. it compresses badly at high speeds, loses alot of its roll rate at medium speeds, and doesnt zoom climb like axis rides. it only turns better.
if people would learn that turnfighting isnt the only way to dogfight, and mastered the harder energy fight, the air war would be completly different. its all about using your machine they way it was designed to be used. a disciplined pilot, flying an energy fighter they way its supposed to be flown, will find themselves victorious over turn fighters in most situations.
unfortunatly, most poeple dont want to take time to be a disciplined energy fighter.

Thats not the biggest problem....
Take ANY allied plane up offline or online, climb to 500+ feet.... hit the autolevel/pilot. Then look through the gunsights..... DEAD STILL.... smooth like gliding on silk.
Now try the EXACT same thing in ANY German plane.... Like riding on a bad cobblestone road in a 64 Impalla with bad shocks. The gunsight is ALL over the place.
Hmm... can I say there is a issue... seeing that the 109 and the Spitfire share MUCH in common... they are close to the same weight, same power to weight ratio, and engine type. Yet... the all of the allied planes are completely smooth.... but the german planes are not...

It is a question of fangs.
nothing like busting your ballz to take a town or two, then coming back the next day to see them and more gone belly up to the other side.
weekends and rush hours are wicked fun and hard on the nerves, it's a massive RvR and all hell brakes lose when things are planned..... /salute...

No recent posts. What is the state of the game today?
I am currently downloading it with the intent of trying it out next week when I get back from a work trip.
Looking for input from any current players.
Thanks
