I bot when i need to grind. The rest of the time i play and i have fun.
As ive said im a casual gamer, i dont want to spend the time i have to play grinding.
I have more time in game to do other stuff then grinding.
Im not a PvE player.
I got into botting because i was tired of loosing all my fights to hardcore players who were a lot higher in lvl then me. Im now always as high as the hardcores are.
I do not get your type to be honest. Where is the sense of accomplishment of having a high level character that you did nothing to earn? Why play these games at all? Why not just play couterstrike which is PvP without leveling?
It's gimptards like FireUp that make me weep for the future of MMORPG's.
Anyone who comes here and says that botters/hackers and exploiters are more intelligent than most other players is full of crap.
If you exploit or hack it just shows me that you don't want to play the game, but that you would rather have an unfair advantage. Thats like running a race and instead of following the course you hop a cab and ride to the finish line. Sure you finished the race but there is no pride in what you did.
You and Kriminal99 should become buddies. You can add each other to AIM or MSN and then spend nights talking to each other about how great you are at hacking games and exploiting, and the unfair judgment that folks pass on you.
There are some unfinished areas, that they plan to add, over time to have new content. Hey, a mmorpg that gest new content over time! AMAZING
but what happens is that in one or two of these areas there are broken mobs, that have rare drops and good exp, but only about 100hp
People who were banned, were not people who just found the area. But people who camped and killed these broken mobs for exp and good drops.
They basically just banned people that were abusing an exloit. People who found the area are encouraged to leave, but as of yet, I havent heard of anybody banned just form getting there. Only if you abused/exploited the broken/not yet implemented.
Although I must commend all the WoW haters, this did seem like a weak point for a possible bash, your point is mute. WoW had the most sucessful launch, and I have no doubt that will end up being one of the most popular, if not the most popular mmorpg for a while.
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...
I knew i was going to be insulted here... it just shows that even an exploter/botter can be more mature then a honest player.
For the people saying I should play a FPS, I dont want no FPS.
I dont play WoW, I play with a powerleveling/botter guild in a full PvP game.
I play to have fun and in this game the fun comes from PvPing and GvGing.
If you want to have a competive guild you have to follow the hardcores. Since most of our guild members are in between casual-hardcore gamers, we want to have a chance to win against hardcore players. Using exploit (never used exploit in PvP)/power leveling/botting to lvl is just a way to stay competive.
Our guild doesnt have any advantage over the hardcore players.
Im sure anyone who played open PvP game before know that casual gamers have no chance against hardcore players.
FireUp, youre, by far, one of the most retarded posters here. Its ok to be honest when youve done smth slightly wrong, such as have cybersex in your housing with no access filters on. But to be honest that you don even play a game, to be honest that you arent even at your keyboard while youre "training", to be honest that you are wat the general population of MMORPG players hate? On a MMORPG forum nontheless?
RPers can think getting caught cybering is cool.
Newbies can think powerlvlers are cool.
But nobody besides your fellow exploiters (n theres less of them than you think, cuz like, imagine, some ppl actually play games to have fun!! uber lvlz, like, isnt the most important to some of us like, wtfbbqomgzorz!!!1one) Especially if you didnt work for it. Spending a few min to change a few lines of code that you used for the last game you botted in doesnt count. Sorry.
FireUp obviosly , in his mind, find that exploiting is justified. For the same reason, many people who break rules think that are justified.
Look at the mob, or organized crime. They think, what they are doing isnt wrong. They truly believe that what they are going is nothing bad, perhaps misunderstood, but good none the less.
In FireUp's case its the same thing, he has convinced himself, or others have convinced him, that breaking rules, to help himself compete with others is okay.
This is the same as the people in third world Countries who pick pocket rich people. "they are rich, they will be fine, but I dont have much money, so its all good in the end". Its a twisted sense of logic, but it does exist.
Another example would by Pickton. I think you all know who that was, the pig farmer, who killed prostitues and fed them to his pigs. In his mind is was justified, the prostitutes were valueless. They didn't matter. And thus he could use them as a tool to help himself. You see, FireUp is doing the same thing. He has managed to convince himself, that the Rules he agreed to when he made an account to play the game, are not good, and that, he has to take the rules into his own hands. The only problem is, there is a reason the rules are there, to make it fair. Thats the same reason we have Laws in the real world, how you cant kill people. You can do such things as "insider trading" to get the upper hand.
As a note, the whole "report the exploit, but use it till its fixed" is flawed logic. It appears to me that you are seeking a reward for your efforts at finding a bug, where as the average schmo would just find it, report it and go in playing. A real world example would be a loophole. If you find a loophole, and exploit it, do you get out scotch free? do the courts go "hey good job, you found a loophole in the criminal code, just for that.. were gona let you get away with killing that woman"...
And if your all wondering, he will probably read this and laugh. Ive dealt with many people who think like this before, and I generally somthing traumatic has to happen before they change. I seriously doubt, that somthing Traumatic will happen in a video game lol.
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...
I'll agree with him that some PVP games do require people to have bots for buffs, multiple accounts/computers, etc. to play on an even playing field. It all starts with a few people who do everything in their power to get every advantage they can over others. Then the people who are at a disadvantage to these hardcore powergamers realize they have to do the same things in order to lvl the playing field and beat them, and this creates a snowball effect. I cant tell you how many times i thought about getting a 2nd account for SB, and hooking up another computer to even the playing field, or to make my toons more viable. Imo thats part of the major drawbacks of SB, or even DAOC where buffs are so important and can make some characters Godly, where half the people are running around with buff bots on 2nd accounts
I look at it like athletes taking steroids which is a big thing in baseball these days. Those steroid-abusing players force other players to use steroids to compete with them, and if they dont they will be at a considerable disadvantage. And it just creates a snowball effect where eventually most athletes will be taking those supplements, especially when baseball didnt act early on when they considered it a minor problem.
Anyhow, it does make those game companies more money with 2nd, 3rd, etc. accounts. I do think its a problem, not just limited to PvP games since i knew many who bot'd in EQ1, altho PoP made it harder to bot with harder faster hitting mobs. Its sad that there will always be some people out there who do everything in their power to get an advantage over others which force others to abuse those same mechanics in order to compete on an even level. My only hope is game companies put in mechanics to deter that type of gameplay, where buffs arent the end all be all, and people dont gain a significant advantage over everyone else by having dual accounts.
As a Computer Programmer with loads of experience (over 27 years), I test and test and retest my logic.
You cannot catch ALL the bugs in your programs or you would NEVER EVER release ANY software.
Have you READ the EULA? (End User License Agreement)
Look at the "fine print" where you AGREE to abide by the rules of the software manufacturer.
When you opened the package containing the CD-Roms, You agreed to abide by those rules and laws.
You don't OWN the software, the manufacturer does, you own the right to USE the software based on the rules laid out in the EULA.
Part of that agreement says something to the effect that if you are caught using KNOWN bugs or exploits in the game to your advantage that you will risk the possibility of getting suspended or banned.
Another part of the agreement is to never reverse-engineer or use hack programs when you use their program.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Read the EULA for once, you might be surprised.
When you find bugs in the game you should e-mail the game maker so they will at least know that there is problem that they need to be aware of. Please make your bug reports meaningful and tell exactly how you were able to create the problem.
Have you EVER worked on a huge software product? Probably not.
Blizzard does a damn good job on their game software.
Even after the normal lifetime of a game is usually over Blizzard will still support their games by making patches.
Many game companies could learn a heck of a lot from Blizzard.
Blizzard isn't perfect by any means.
One downside is that on Battle Net they don't seem to do much about the "chat bots".

I dont like the look and feeling you get of WOW that dont meen that the game is bad!
It meen that i think its a toy game whid look and feel off a toy game and all the good stuff in it comes from EQ1....
