Currently sitting at log in. I've put in my name & password but it isn't connecting. With the music in the background it feels like I've been put on hold and i keep expecting a recorded voice of one of the major NPCs to suddenly speak: "We're sorry, all available authorization servers are full, please stay on the line and we will allow customers access in the order they spammed in."
Yeah aiononline.com is down, aionsource.com is down, NCsoft account management is down. God damn people stop trying your fucking their systems. Not to mention MMORPG.com is now bogged down.
LoL, coordinated strike by WoW and WAR took out the Aion Beta...
Wonder if the first open beta patch introduces a login q
The last three CBs were up not only on time, but about ten minutes early.
Today is just another in a long line of MMORPG incidents that supports my theory that MMORPG developers take stupid pills during the last month pre-launch.

Heh, yeah it kind of sound like waiting room music. They should have a coffee table with magazines to read.
Well, about 10 minutes ago I got past the login screen but when I chose Israphel it couldn't connect to the server and knocked me out of the program again. Wtf? I understand kicking you out of the program when you can't login to the auth server (to help prevent hacking), but when an individual server is down? Why not just take me back to the server list or login screen.
Ok, so I have a brother that actually works at Aion. Here is what's going on right now at Aion -
Developer: "Dude! Switch on the servers!"
Server guy: "Nope... Not until I get my starbucks."
Developer: "Look, we were all busy getting ready for the launch so it kinda slipped, just turn it on. I will get you a cup of coffee from the break room if that helps."
Server guy: "Starbucks, or Aion never, ever, launches in North America."
Developer: "Dude! You suck. Alright we will send someone to get your starbucks, there is going to be hell to pay though on the forums."
Server guy: "Nah, I shut those down already. Well, all but MMORPG's forums, but nobody reads those."
i hope this crashing of the servers doesn't foreshadow the consequences at every stress load time. Like after every maintenance... Then again.. i've been hearing that wow also crashed in their open beta due to the stress load.

This exactly!
I was just telling my friend that no matter how polished Aion was and the fact that it's been out for months, there will still be these types of problems. I mean, how many people do you think were all trying to log in at the same time? The number of times the torrent was downloaded, not to even mention all the FilePlanet downloads, is a huge number.
Today and tomorrow will be the worst, guys. Just make some time out of your weekly schedule to try it out when everyone isn't trying to log in on their day(s) off :P.
They will get it fixed, that's what open beta is for after all! Have a giant flood of people all poor onto the game at the exact same time and see if the servers hold up! Clearly i could have foreseen a fail as WoW had the same issues Lol.
I have european friends with me right now on venttrilo that are playing. they were able to log in and create their chars they are doing quests atm.

You would have thought that by now developers would have learned to create a proper queue system to queue people up at login. So the servers don't get bogged down and crash.

Wow had one of the worst MMO launches in history. I don't remember the open beta being too bad, but it probably was. The launch, however, was horrible.
It just goes with the territory - if you're going to be popular, you're going to have to deal with a lot of potential server issues. Don't worry, they'll get it up and running soon enough. Everyone here needs to go take a walk around the town or something and relieve some stress :P.
as of 11:43 CDT - I can log in but servers are still in-op. DOS attack from the Russian Mafia? WoW cant win as a game so they sic their fanbois on NCSoft? LOL.....
Lol at their forums. I imagine they are getting a heavier load than expected. You can sometimes load their forum page, their home page and their download page, if you keep hitting refresh. I can't even get to the plaync.com login page. If even 1/2 the people get logged in, and 1/2 of those people actually like the game, we might have a 'hit' on our hands .

Yet it was far, far better than Anarchy Online's launch. Also look at FFIX, while not the numbers of WoW, is it not the second highst subscribed game ever? The NA launch WAS flawless as it had time in Japan to fix whatever server issues there might've been. Figure, then, that Aion should have managed better...
"North American users (early-birds!) may still be experiencing authentication/login issues"
"Early birds", sounds like a veiled excuse. I can understand them doing this to stress test. Otherwise pretty retarded opening the door for everyone at once.

now it just gave me a BSOD when trying to reset the display

Glad to know it's not just me. Keep getting an "Unable to connect to authorization server" message.
According to http://kindred.aion.tv/status/ only US is up and running.
What a big fail for EU again. Why am I not suprised. *sigh*
US doesnt appear to be up.. Atleast not for me.. wtf is this.. a conspiracy..

Can't login at all now.

The NCSoft.com server is temporarily unavailable. Please check your network connections and try again later.
Yeah, and obviously my network connections are fine ^^ See a few threads with this complaint, we're not the only ones.

Server guy:; "Venti Moca Latte, easy on the foam"
Developer: "Ok ..ok"
Unfortunately, we may be in for a long wait.
With the CB, the servers were always showing online hours before the open, it was just waiting on NCSoft to open access to testers.

Authentication servers will still not let you log in; we're working to resolve this.

I just received a suggestion to ban Asmodians from browsing the forums to alleviate the heavy load. Comments on that?
5 minutes ago from Seesmic
We have the servers up running, just need to sort out account access in our databases so that you can log in.
10 minutes ago from Seesmic
@carribus Suggestion: Don't worry about it. Set Launcher Options/Settings to Europe.
14 minutes ago from Seesmic
in reply to carribus@esux That means that the authentication server is down.

in reply to esuxIf you cannot access the beta forums, that's because the equivalent of a smaller nation is trying to do the same at the same time.

Still working on getting everything up. We're aware of the error message "...you have not made a payment..." and are looking to fix it.

RT @aion_xaen: errr hold on a few more please! (Regarding game servers)

If you cannot register on the forums with your game account, please wait until the game servers are live in just a moment and try again.
about 1 hour ago from Seesmic
@aionpiguild The problem was not a server problem, it was a connectivity problem somewhere on the outside. We are still tracking it down.
