For a good example of what a superhero fight should feel like, refer to Batman: Arkham Asylum.
And he's Batman, FFS ! Just your badass normal, crazy prepared, somewhat psychotic hero. How do you think the likes of Superman or Wolverine would go about in this kind of situation ? Simple, just beat the brains out of anyone in two blows or less. That's how superheroes fight. Now, for "named", non-mook villains, it's a whole different story. But I side with people who think we should cut through small-time mobs like butter.
Being a hero is nothing to do with how many bad guys you can beat at a time, or how high you can jump or how fast you can fly, or how glittery your aura is........its about the choices you make, its about the methods to employ to resolve situations, its about consequence, responsibility and courage..... CO fails to be fun becasue it makes no effort whatsoever to incorporate the theme in its design, so you have a game thats just a sterile and linear succession of key presses, nothing to make you care or feel its any more - as a second generation superhero mmo that is very dissapointing imo.
CO has allowed itself the luxury of assembling a bunch of arbitrary and generic mmo mechanisms without due regard of the needs or ambitions of the comicbook theme. Even those walls of text that excuse your pathological psychotic journey through the game are either couched in a humour that suggest they are embarrassed by the superhero concept or else rely on screaming a repeated 'we need a hero' so many time it comes accross as sarcasm...
The problem isnt the lack of content; its a more fundamental lack of conviction in the theme - the content they do provide is either overly simplistic or else simply inappropriate or contradictory to the genre - style, mood, atmosphere, character, motivation, inspiration...all the facets that make a person care or take an interest in a world are absent save one the one selfish overiding 'ego build' and that ironically is the least heroic of them all.
im beginning to feel like the only person who doesn't enjoy pvp in mmos
Nah, I am with you. I tried it in a few games now, but tbh I found it silly. Not difficult, just boring and silly. *shrug* I just dont get why some people are so excited about this pew pew. Oh well...

Fully agree! That game shows how a Superhero should fight.

I agree with you also Personally I think PvP in an MMO is inherently unbalanced and rarely any fun. There are far better games for that type of gameplay. That said arenas type areas can be fun and allow you to decide to participate or not.
Most games with PvP esp open PvP are in my opinion bad for any PvE type game experience. Games have to be pure PvP or pure PvE. Mix it up and it degrades the game overall. Arena type stuff is the best compromise.
