there are no channels once you enter the lvl 20 zone. the channels are there to ease players into the questing and leveling. Aions world opens up greatly post lvl 20.

I will agree it opens up more, but to me it s still the same old same old. There is nothing new at all, and IMO anyways it doesn t even do alot better then most games. The PvPvE is ok but will get boring real fast.

and you would know this how? the highest you could get in the betas was lvl 30..... the max is 50.... that is a lot of lvls worth of content you have never seen, including just about every instance and raid boss.

the simple fact is, you know nothing about the game save what the battle system and leveling system is like. aside from that, you have only done some quests, and maybe a little PVP in the abyss....

Give AION six months for some good coder to break Gameguard apart and there will be hacks all over this game.

    what?

sorry friend but you are now a botter. No judgement here (though I don't bot) but if you used a bot to grind out money and levels you are a botter. Just say you are and own it. I'm sure you have your reasons and I'm sure they are good.

Ok this is simple to answer, As I said IMO it s boring , and theres nothing new, as well as done better by other games. To me the PvPvE will get boring fast because I hated the battle system and no amount of good PvP will change that. This is my opinion which I m entitled to. If you think it s a good game then play it enjoy it and don t worry what I say :)

Look at the PVP videos on youtube also, you can see the autofollow/attack in action.

YOU CAN TURN AUTO FOLLOW OFF!!!!

So what! IN WAR you could turn off that shitty Red quest helper but you guys ripped that game apart for it anyway.

It doesn't matter If I could turn it off, it matters that other players have it and some newb can basically auto follow me in pvp.

That's game breaking dude, what if im trying to hide? he will still be following while in a game like WoW he could easily go in the wrong direction.

Auto follow is a big issue man.

Using a skill makes you run to your enemy and use it, and DOESN'T FOLLOW HIM AROUND AFTERWARDS.  Play before you bitch.

AION and WoW are different in many aspects... they are MMORPGs... ok... but stop comparing AION to WoW... we had that in enough threads here... just boring.

Yes I have played aion... But I guess you have not played many mmorpg's... The two games WOW and AIOn are very simular compared to most other games on the market. AION is meant to attack WOWs player base hence they used many aspects of wow in there core interface.... Now, if you are replying to my post, it proves that, their is some point to my opinion... Now stop crying... The truth is i don't like WOW and i feel AION should have been a better game. But the facts are if you dont like wow you will never like aion....

Well, as a person thats been playing WoW for the last 4 years and have over 4600 hours of gameplay i can say Aion is nothing like wow except for the UI, but damn, if this makes a clone then all books on the market are clones.

Aion captures many points that WoW simply could not or just gave up trying, like a PvP system that matters, is fun and alot more balanced. A completely different game focus, based on PvPvE and not a simplistic dungeons farmer for badges and gear and so on, this as been already discussed alot.

Not to mention that every class as meaning and a role to play, wow as simply became a game where a class can make everything and no one has any particular function, one can do a dungeon with 5 pallys or 5 druids etc.

I suggest everyone that even remotely thinks this game is similar to wow to try it when a trial becomes available, and check for yourselves the difference of both games.

I played the OB from lvl 1-17...I liked it somewhat..but it has annoyances very common with Korean MMO's, The controls are pretty much horrible, i had to rebind most of my keys. Then it felt like 90% of the quests were run to this place, kill 10 of these and then return here. And sometimes they had you running all over the map. It felt like i wasted way to much time walking around.

But the worst thing about Aion is the quest descriptions..If you don't read the novels of text before accepting a quest, you're pretty much gurenteed to be confused as to what mobs to kill, The little info in the quest log is almost useless..i liked WAR's system where they marked a zone in which the mobs could be found and then said what mobs you're suppose to kill. This annoyance was unbearable at times.

It was also kind of hard to understand the crafting system at first, for example i collected a bunch of flowers, then when i hit lvl 10 and progressed into a Daeva, i no longer needed flowers because i extracted some Aether out of everthing. So the flowers where useless.

Last but not least, the AH filters are pretty poor...the search for item name was pretty horrible. If you wanted an item with the name "Sword of Dance" and you searched for "Dance" you wouldn't find it. You had to search from the beginning of the word or it wouldn't match.  Also the group loot system seemed odd, There's no "Greed" options..only Need / Pass.

I could go on but I don't have time.

    My final rating 6/10

If you're used to playing with addons this will take some time getting used to, besides as you figured out...you can rebind everything. Other than that this is nitpicking as I haven't seen any serious bitching about the controls...

Puhlease. You didn't notice many names and words that were links? Had you not clicked away the newbie tooltips you would've found out this pretty early on in the game.

The flowers were not useless. You did not pay attention. The process in which you gathered them changes after you've ascended as a demi-god. The herbs and ore you gathered in the newbie zone are still usable after you've ascended.
    Sigh. What else?

Searching on the broker is case sensitive (at the moment). Are you sure you searched for Dance, with only the D upper case?
And don't insist this doesn't work. Don't even try.
I will give you the loot system bit, it could be more extensive.

I could go on but I don't have time.
    ...

     Good.

uh.... the quest system puts a big fucking purple X on the map where you need to go.... how hard is that?

WOW had the exact same looting system for the longest time, and it worked just fine. loot drops are not important in Aion. quest items are typically way better than drops anyhow. late game gear will be bought with abyss points from vendors as well, so again, who cares about drops.

An auto follow is literally game breaking for PVP. If they use it in the SEVER TOURNAMENTS IN THE OTHER COUNTRIES IT IS OBVIOUSLY A LARGE ADVANTAGE.

This is what i'm trying to say to everyone.

AS a pvper this option is so lame.

I really don't know what you are trying to say but Aion encourages free movement. Hence the bonus you get.

Ex= While moving- forward= 10% More dmg 10% less defence

side to side= 300% more evasion, 75% dmg Decr

backwards= I think it was 500% more defence, 75% decr

WoW before the expansions was actually pretty good and, to much focus on groups and over specialized classes? Really, MMO's should promote grouping, the genre should promote grouping I'm so sick of people who could solo to max in other mmo's and feel like they are the greatest. What is says is I'm an anti social elitist and I'm better then you at this game Aion will weed these players out (I hope.)

As for to "grindy" come on man, if a grind turns you off just quit playing mmo's altogether cause no matter what mmo you play there will always be a grind.

Perhaps he saw that Aion is played and launched on ... 12 EU servers? That's 240 EU servers short for the moment ...

But apparently looking around and do some basic counting is not your strongest point.

I don't really see any game matching WoW's numbers but I don't really believe that is a failure as no game really reaches WoW's numbers. (maplestory perhaps?)

Failure would be Aion not being able to retain subs and not having enough money to run. Of course NC made a bold statement and said that they wanted to be THE #2 game right behind wow. that is a very bold statement and I'm not sure if they can do it. I think they will be succussful but I wonder if the melding of pvp and pve in the way that they did it will undermine that goal. Only time will tell.

I just wanted to show Aion fan boys need to come down with their feet back on the ground.

12 EU servers on launch day means just that. Nothing more nothing less and with this number it is around Lotro EU launch numbers.

I am pretty sure the game was already lied up in a big way by its fans.

No one can show us the official NCSoft confirmation of those 3.5 M subscriptions "in the east". Only non official rumours.

And after playing the Beta most people do question the "real" value of this game and its supposed success.

So I await the further growth with that  extra 240 EU servers in the coming months and year. 10.000 to 1 they won't even come near 25 Eu servers.

Ah no.  I treid the Auto Assault Beta and the Tabula Rasa Beta and I know why they failed.

This game is nothing like those two.

This game is not going to be closed any time real soon.  I look forward to the five year celebration.

You should check a few more MMOs before you go ahead and type negative about Aion.

Least I'm not alone.  I actually preferred how WoW was before the expansions.  It still had plenty of solo content but there was definitely more of an emphasis on grouping.

Sadly, LotR has done the same thing revamping old content and making a lot of  what used to be group content now solo oriented.  I like having the option to solo in games but it is seriously starting to get ridiculous the level some games are going.  I don't agree with saying those that prefer to solo are antisocial elititists though but I do agree with the part of your post I quoted.
