My dream MMORPG is Star Wars Galaxies 6 months ago.

I mean come on, honestly... SWG was freaking amazing.  It had everything I could ever ask for in a MMORPG.

    - Best character customization in any MMORPG (Only MMORPG beating it is City of Heroes)
    - Amazing graphics
    - Player economy
    - Build your house anywhere
    - So many fun and unique professions. Such as tailoring, image designing, dancing, musician, etc.
    - GUNS!!!!  Oh yes... GUNS in a MMORPG OWNZ!!!!
    - So many emotes and animations to truly feel in a virtual world
    - So many different kinds of creatures to tame and use as pets.
    - A non-linear world you can freely explore

Anyways I could go on.  It had everything I ever wanted in a MMORPG.

Until the day SOE f*cked everything up no thanks to:

    - Jedi
    - Doctor buffs + 80% kinetic resistance armor + Brandy & Canape making everyone invincible
    - unbalance of PVP
    - bugs and broken professions rendering them useless

And more... and no thanks to all that crap, it made all the veteran players quit SWG, and I was playing mainly cause my friends played.  So when you have no more friends and you're forced to make new friends that are usually 13 year old immature teens that just want everything for themselves, since the game is very soloable, you end up soloing, get bored, and quit.

I swear... SWG had it all... and it's a real shame no companies, not even SOE themselves with Everquest 2, could copy such a great user interface, virtual world and gameplay that SWG has.

I'm playing WoW cause of the gameplay, but I still miss the "virtual world" feel that SWG used to give me.

My MMO would be a fantasy-based FPS-like game where you physically run arround and swing your sword/axe whatever with your mouse, and how you MOVED your mouse (IE if i move my mouse from the top right to the lower left id swing in that manner, FPS style) decided how the damage would be dealt, different areas do different damage. Where you PHYSICALLY block attacks with your shield manually, where you can dodge sideways, back, but not twitch-style dodgeing, where as an archer you manually aim and shoot arrows that are effected by gravity and deal various damage ammounts based on where they hit and the kind of bow they use, and where you physically cast spells with your mouse or maybe even a lil draw pad where you can draw a glyph for a spell and then cast it....you know, something complex but not too complex.

Basically, where the player physically determines how good THEY are, as opposed to how high the dice rolls on their next hit or how good their equipment is, though equipment makes some difference.

Oh yeah, also, there would be no "real" leveling system, it would be mostly skills and you just got better with those skill areas as you used em...

Basically...no more pressing the attack key and watching.

My dream would be a mmo fighting game. I love fighting games and mmorpgs, the combination would be a dream come true for me (one reason why i'm waiting for shenmue online). No fireballs here, fighting would be along the lines of virtua fighter.

Various features could be implimented along the lines of weighted clothing improving muscle building and diet effecting your ability to fight. The game would allow training regimines that could be scripted or automated for when you're not playing the game. Missions could be based apon which school you learn from (a variety of MA disciplines could be chosen).

The fighting would take place almost anywhere as well in PVP combat. Cameras would zoom in to a traditional fighting stances and use a tekken/vf control format. Special moves would be created in a non-animation altering sense. Various factors would effect the effectiveness of the moves including body size, ki, speed, explosiveness, and amount of times that specific move had been done. Moves would have individual levels and could be upgraded by trainers at schools.

Fights would be able to be bet apon at arenas and attaining certain levels would allow you to join certain fighting ranks and levels. Real life prizes could be awarded for winning real life tournaments. Guild/School admission could be attained by fighting members of that guild/school.

An experiment in this would be fun, there was an attempt at an online fighting game along the lines of what i'm talking about when it comes to a combat system called The Wild Rings for the X-box. It was far from a good game, but it was a pretty novel concept.

I doubt a game along this magnitude and size would come by any time soon (or cheap even), but it's my dream.

I recently picked up 'Vampire the masquerade: bloodlines'. It has realy an intresting setting and even the system of advancement is nice. Would like to see this in a MMORPG, only xp you get if by doing quests. No powerleveling.

Most quests once completed can't be redone, they are finished. So quests like kill <named npc>, once that <named npc> is killed it is dead and the quest is gone. Same goes as rebuild this or that, once rebuild it is done and the quest is finished.

Also spawns shouldn't be static, once you kill a mob/npc it is dead and stays dead. Over time it can be that some mob/npc wander in there from another area. Also mob/npc should have a reaction on your power.Like if they notice they don't have a chance to win they would flee or ask for forgiveness and plee for their live.

Think there are a lot more points that need to be put in, but hey someone may dream right :P

You dont see any mmo's who's time and setting is around vampires. That would be cool because most  mmo's are fantasy with the same kinda setting and its getting really old and over used.

My dream MMORPG would be a mixture of EVE-Online (graphics, size, music), Earth and Beyond (graphics, atmosphere, community, skills system, music), some FFVII (music, story line, atmosphere, and everything else that made it great :P), and maybe some Planetside (size, fun factor, pvp [somewhat]).

EDIT: I'd love to see games like Team Fortress Classic (Half-Life mod) or CS:S turned into an MMORPG. Even HL2 would be great!
