Okay community.
Here me out please...
I love playing this game, there i have said it. okay, this isnt a flame of the game itself. but of the handling of the launch by NCSOFT where by developers even here have said they will only release a handful of servers knowing full well they have over sold SPACE on the servers.
Thus we have queues. but alas, since friday the queues have gotten so bad we now get automatically kicked out of the launcher saying they have no ROOM for anyone else!
Hangon, isnt this game on sale in shops in the EU since Friday? surely they havent sold 1million copies by now? oh breaking news, servers for EU have a rumoured capactity of 5,000 each. so thats 50,000 that can play at once. Yet isnt there reports of subs in 400k ++ ??
Now in my view, NCSOFT with a legal battle (out there) sold this game fraudulently to raise CASH fast?
Well Trading standards here in the UK will be getting a lot more calls from the UK community over the next week as thousands of players cant even log in to create a character!
IF you live in the EU, and not bought this game DO NOT BUY IT YET!
THIS is what players RECIEVE now

I would have thought they would handle the EU launch better than the NA one but yet they seem to have done the opposite. I really don't get what the company heads are thinking at times.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
well there is a rumour that ncsoft is being sued (is it not by Richard Garent tabula risa creator) and probably needing a quick fast con to sell to the mmo public
This topic title makes no sense, neither does the context of your post, why ?. ''it's official, ncsoft fraud'' Where is the proof ? i dont see anything.
2nd, Ncsoft is being sued, Blizzard is being sued, Square Enix is being sued, SE is being sued, all at the same time.. why ?
Because apperently the ''very first'' creator of MMO's believe these companies stole his ideas.
Close please.
'' Paltalk Holdings is tackling Turbine, Sony, Activision Blizzard, NCSoft, and Jagex, crying "patent infringement, patent infringement!" The latest trend as of late seems to be suing others -- Evony suit against blogger for libel, Linden Labs is being sued for trademark violations, Turbine is suing Atari, NCsoft is being sued for patent infringement, now five companies are all being sued over a patent dispute''
its actually a good sign showing how popular the game is ncsoft will add more servers if need be they are the most experienced mmo company out there
This guy is a retard, for saying he was the creator of mmo's his patent is stupid and generalizes mmo gamming. If he wins it would be a very sad day for everyone... people are so sue happy
"Why can't we be friends?"
It all comes down to money. I'm sure the greatest of MMO companies/producers are, or have, rolled in dough and had their share of fame. But if you can sue to screw over someone else PLUS get more cash, why not?
Same with the Aion servers. It all comes down to money. They're still making money by selling the games and subs, but opening more servers will cost them money. They're probably waiting to see how many will stay long term so they don't waste money opening servers no one will use in a couple months from now. *shrug* Or maybe they didn't anticipate them to fill up so fast?
While one could easily blame NCSoft for poor planning or arguably even questionable ethics in their failure to provide adequate server support for the number of boxes/subs they are selling, legally speaking, their completely in the clear for the simple reason that pretty much every video game with any online component whatsoever writes their licence agreements to specifically affirm that access is not garaunteed.
Therefore for legal purposes, you agree when you subscribe that the company is no way liable for failing to provide you access.
And this is yet another example of how foolishly inserting meaningless talk of legal action into an arguement (that's otherwise valid) is good way to not be taken seriously.

freaking hell what are you guys doing in europe gees eating the whole freaking game
thew way it goes they would need 2 server for each langage just to get the line up in we dont have that in america yet
theres always a server with space

Actually if you do some research Him and his legal team just forced microsoft corp into a settlement. Sorry but none of these companies stands a chance. The patents deal with the way certain information is sent and recieved. He's pretty much got em cold, just a matter of time. This wont have any effect on gaming though, just some legal fodder.

nha because all those game make use a bridge they ll have to sue that bridge company first.
one is level3 there are other like att ,warner bros
all those company have to be sued first since they are the one supplying the data path
that comp that sue will lose or will have to sue the one i say and a lot of other before they can reach game dev
by the time they reach game dev they ll be bankrupt lol
I commented on this very subject in a FFXIV post.
Devs may be getting away with a total bs TOS they FORCE you to sign, but the days are coming when they won't.It will only take a handful of half ass lawyers to point out ,you cannot FORCE someone to sign something they have not seen yet.Yes they are FORCING you because the INTENT was for you to play after the purchase ,not to press no to the TOS lol.
It is basically like saying car manufacturers can force you to sign a waiver that anything and everything that happens to the car is your fault not theirs.Cars are respected more amongst the community because even the judges and lawyers drive cars,so the law has a firm grip on that industry. The time is coming however, eventually there will be MANY laws prohibiting what a developer can print in their TOS and FORCE you to sign.
IMO yes NCSOFT sold the game fraudulently. The reason is because you cannot sell someone a move pass, then there is no movie. You cannot sell someone gas that is water and will not run your car,ect ect,you cannot sell a game that someone cannot play.
1 You purchase a subscription,a service,the service was NOT provided,they owe you.
2 you purchased the game, with full intent to PLAY the game,no law anywhere should deem it that you made a purchase for the sole reason to own a cardboard box and a useless CD.In essence if you cannot play the product, does not work.It would be like the car lot sells you a car, sure it "CAN" work, but without the keys ,it's useless.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

lol good luck with that
you got the choice
yes i agree
no i dont agree
it is your choice lol
no other chose it for you
I don't see why modern games don't build their architecture to scale with demand.
I'd assume a channel is a server or cluster or whatever, why can't they just temporarily add more channels.
From what I read NCSoft believes it is just due to everyone wanting to play the game in the initial rush. They are predicting people will play less(at the same time) in the future. Wouldn't added temporary channels alleviate this?
Not sure what game your playing but i havent had more then a 5min que since last week...and I'm on one of the busiest servers.
"I play Tera for the gameplay"
NCsoft needs to get its act together.
It can't hide behind the launch rush excuse anymore. Pre - order headstart was a few days ago and so was the normal launch. The people stuck now are playing in a normal rhytm and there just isn't enough space. This isn't a launch rush anymore.
At peak times, it can happen that you don't even make it into the queue since the servers are plain full. IF you get into the queue, the waiting time is mostly somewhere around 1hr to 3+hrs. The recently opened german server changed nothing about that.
On my part, therefore i haven't opened the retail package yet. I will follow the problem for one more week and likely bring the game back into the store then. 49Eur is a bunch of money for some folks nowadays and i won't spend them to sit on my desktop surfing or clean the house while i am on position 1300+ somewhere in a minimized window on my screen.
now that is the smartest thing i read are about aion
YES NCSOFT SHOULD ADD CHANNEL INSTEAD OF SERVER
THAT WOULD MAKE EVERY PLAYER HAPPY
dont know if it can be done tho maybe they re working on that

Well good on you, bet your on a US server.
Didnt you actually READ my post, this is regarding UK servers, http://uk.aiononline.com/forums/general/list why not pop over there and READ the issue instead of showing "you can log on" whoopie

I'm a UK MMO player, I quit Aion on Sunday due to me not getting on with the overall game, but the longest queue I encountered between the headstart and Sunday was 1 hr and 7 mins, and at no time was I ever booted.

Isn't the title of this topic: Offical AION is being sold fraudlently in Europe / US
We rode on the winds of the rising storm,
We ran to the sounds of the thunder.
We danced among the lightning bolts,
and tore the world asunder.

I believe it was, but don't worry the Op has already alerted the proper authorities who at this very moment are boarding a plane to place the whole NCSoft board under arrest for releasing an extremly popular MMO and allowing queues to form on their servers, and thus depriving other players from being able to log on instantly.
I say hang the lot of them for this terrible terrible crime against all MMO players around the world, they should be ashamed of themselves.

+1 from me as well.
This is the only post in this topic that has made me laugh, the rest is a bunch of facepalmings and groans.
WoW had similar issues when it first released just to let you know. Servers completely full, game nearly unplayable to many, all that. The only reason I'm not playing right now is because I don't have time or money, and I want to save the 30+ days of free time til I do, though my guild is trying to sway me into playing now.
That "company" that "forced Microsoft to Settle" didn't force anything. Microsoft most likely settled because they realized they were just a bunch of no-life hacks and dragging it out in court and winning wouldn't of gotten them anything, so a settlement was then more cost-effective. Besides, it was an out of court settlement, which holds no legal justification for them, its just a stroke to their ego. Blizzard will be more than capable of crushing them on their own, like they did in the Glider Lawsuit.
ya microsoft probably made cost assessement
and decided it costed less to pay them and shut their trap they put their lawer on the case
ms is a company so if its no important they pay the least lol
in this case it doesnt concern ms at all so they payed and said to them
SHO SHO GO AWAY LOL
its just a price for ms the cheaper thing if court way would have been cheapper they would have went to court till the suer
die
