It's been down all darned day. I just found out about this about like.. at 1PM my time. I'd say it's a lost cause, considering the bandwidth and the number of hits the site is getting at once with EVERYONE who wants a piece of this.. It's chaotic. I'm kinda thinking they shouldn't have released it to the public, but if they didn't we wouldn't be here talking about it. XD
But I'm sure they're most likely trying to fix the bandwidth problem on the site, but each time they get it up MORE people flood at once. There's no way to regulate how many people come and go at once. I want in this, my friends want in this, their friends. It's insane.
We all want a piece of the sweet, delicate, heavenly <insert favorite dessert here> that will be KotR. And only a few of us truly will get a piece of it before it's release. We just want to be that one guy, you know? That one person who gets in while everyone else doesn't. It's our duty as gaming nerds to get into beta testing for one of the most anticipated MMOs that's going on the market since WoW. So we can say "I was there."
It may be days, weeks, even months before we'll be able to get into this and it actually works. But we still need to understand that not all of us will get in. And accept that, we'll just wait for the release and pretty much splurge every single penny we earn to play it...
Ah the interwebs.

Oh man, I was 3/4 through the signup process when it went down again... I could refresh the main signup screen long enough to see that my username is now taken by my ghost signup..... grrrr.
At least you got in. i have been trying all day with no success.
*sniffles* half hour ago I got to a screen where I needed to accept an agreement, and when I accepted it went to the maintenance page.
*edit* Ok how long is the "Scanning In Progress" bar supposed to be on the screen?
*edit* When I get the scan your system page, it gives a warning to install something, and when I click to install it, it refreshes the page which takes awhile, but then instead of installing something, it gives a popup box about windows installer or something and gives details inside it about different options like slash commands and stuff, and then a button to close it at the bottom... I click to scan, and it just sits there and acts like it's scanning, but I think is doing nothing. It's been "scanning" for over an hour. lol
I got mine completed finally. I got to the computer scan part and then i had to go raid, came back just a few minutes ago and finished it up. The site is still getting hammered though and is super slow...

well one good thing is it isnt based on first come first beta key. They keys will be giving out im sure at random to various computer types and locations.
Anyone else having problems just loging into the TOR site? I signed up for an account and tried to sign in using the form at the top of the page, but it just resets the page and says "Login failed".
I creat an acount and everytime i try to continue with the part where i sign up for the beta i get kicked back to the form to create an acount again. It isn't saving my acount name or anything i do. Guess I will have to try tomorrow when i wake up.
Ok, it seems to not want me to sign up... I check the agree box on first page.... fill out info on second page, and when I click submit it brings me back to the first page saying I must agree to the terms...wtf?
Ok I finally figured it out. It seems the system scan will not work correctly if you are using Windows XP 64 bit edition. I restarted my computer and logged in with regular Windows XP and went through the installer and it worked instantly! I wasted my whole evening and night on this just to finally figure this out!

After trying during 24 hours, I finally succeeded in only create an account. Unfortunately the process to enter the beta crash after inserting my personal info. I'm unable to get the page to retrieve my system info.
Bioware is not off to a good start with me! First the site was down just about all day on the first day of the announcement for tester sign-ups, which they should have been prepared for a large overwhelming response. Second, I finally get to the sign-up page and I'm getting the same problem some others are getting. I click "continue" after filling out all my info, and I get kicked back to the "terms and agreement" page...which I checked the box to agree with every time! If it's this hard to just sign-up for the possibility to test, how bad will it be when people get accepted and try to download the game? I don't think I should have to go through a system reconfiguring just to sign up...maybe for actual testing, but not signing up. So if that's what it takes, I guess I'll sit this one out. Good luck to all those who signed up successfully, I hope you get accepted!
Just an FYI, I had the scan part that kept hanging up on me , no mateer what I did. I happened upon a post about internet explorer 8, which I have, I switched to compatability mode, restarted IE, and the scan worked fine and now it is successfully completed. Hope this helps someone

I love Bioware but ithink they just got a big rude awakening and slap in the face, and ego buster, if you will and any other cliches I can think of.
Entering the MMO space was not as easy as they assumed I an guessing. I am hoping they learn from this experience and do better going forward.

Ill wait till tomorrow.
Anyone know what you are supposed to do after the scan?
The scan pops up my system specs and just sits there. Is that the end?
Did I get all the way through?
Is there something that I'm missing?
Press tab to go to the botom then click submit

Wow I finally got the site to accept my info. I had to go thru the process like 5 times before it finally accepted my info. I hope it was worth it.

You guys act like this will be the only time you get to sign up, that sign up will probably be there for a few months.
