Don't know where you get your facts, but it sure as hell takes skill... I remember many battles which involved stretching out the destro with false attacks and then taking their keep when it was weakend, and even the battles WB on WB are hard fought and very evenly matched, its very fun and rewarding

There's so many thing to do in this game, i never get bored of it. (PVE can be improved like in many other PVE but i understand is a RVR game and it's coola s well except that, like so many have said before, 3 faction will make the game even better.)

But anyway, with the PQ, PVP, RVR, live event and the land of the dead, you got lot of thing to do ( i know LOTD is PQ and RVR just like other realm but at least, it give a fresh breathe with some new stuff to discover.)

Stop complaining and move your ass.

Tier1 is hella fun. After that the game is junk. Thats right junk. I was one of the biggest fanboys pre-launch on these forums and it sucked eating crow but lets face it. They took a great concept and implented most of it verry poorly. To thoes of you still enjoying it good for you. You are the minority though.

Whocares if we are the minority or not. It won't stop us from logging on and killing players then logging out without a care in the world. WAR kicks ass and rocks!

I have quite a number of games I do that in, they're called FPS, they're *perfect* for it!

    No monthly fee, either, right?

For me, though, FPS are not the answer. I hate the FPS view, and I want swords and spells, not gun and grenades. I aslo enjoy leveling and gaining new abilities to use.

Warhammer would have been a great game, if they had gotten CC, class balance, and engine performance right. Oh, and put in a decent end game.

"I aslo enjoy leveling and gaining new abilities to use.:"

Which is inherently incompatible with being able to log in and do stuff (on an equal field) . If there's something to gain it means there's people who don't have it yet, which means the playing field isn't equal.

Some people (not saying you) seem to think want both yet not the drawbacks that are inherent to it. Though some games may have less of them because it takes less long to reach, the whole premise is still the same.

A game like Battlefield makes more sense in that sense. It had abilities to gain, yet you could contribute quite well without them.

The problem comes with MMO's that require monthly payment. It's not the monthly payment itself that's the problem, it's the carrot they need to hang in front of people to get you to pay/play that game over another game that has a monthly fee. And that carrot is almost always based on acquiring new things.

Since fluff isn't enough for most people that means whatever it is, usually creates a have and have-nots, which again, negates the whole idea of log in and play equally.

That's still ignoring the whole Time played > Less time played that MMO's get.

In my opinion, MMO's simply aren't a good place for a level playing field, unless you keep the playing field lowcapped which again brings back the problem of the carrot or a lesser sense of achievement. Something which, if you take it to it's extreme (as lowcapped as possible) takes out the whole idea together, having to acquire things to do something, getting something for playing.

For this type of gameplay, a MMO is simply not suited if you just want to log in and play equally without having to worry about that stuff.  (and no WAR is no different. Just a lesser extent in some senses)

I'd suggest anyone who wants that type of gameplay to look at FPS, it makes WAY more sense than trying to cling onto a MMO in the hope it gives that experience.

I understand your sentiment though. I like MMO's, because of the RPG progression type stuff and the other people walking around, but then I don't have delusions of some type of mythical 'plug and play' playstyle where I can log in and always be on equal footing either, because I know this type of genre *with* the sub fees, requires the game to move forward, or the playerbase will complain and leave, even though they will complain anyway when the game moves forward, but in the former case they leave, and in the latter they stay, and the latter is all that matters.

How equal do you need it to be? Even if all characters have the same gear, stats, and abilities - some players will have better reflexes and some will have more experience, and some will be smarter.

Well, that's progress. I see only two reasons for PvP in any form - advancement and recognition.

It could be, though. Have separate abilities and stats for PvP. Have progression only in PvE content. However, what do you fight for in PvP?

WAR could be an enjoyable game if certain parameters are met by the player.

    1. You find a really active guild that does both pvp and pve and groups a lot.

    2. You play on a populated server that has somewhat balanced numbers.

    3. Your main play time is during the primetime of that server.

    4. You get lucky enough to find a group of friends in game that will level with you through Scenarios, ORvr and PQs.

    5. You have a system that isn't totally destroyed by the shitty unstable client.

Meet those and you will have fun in WAR problem is it is not easy. I myself have a main playtime during off hours and basically played a solo game the whole time so I gave up.

    PLaying: EvE, Ryzom

    Waiting For: Earthrise, Perpetuum

One of the things Mythic should have done is reduce the queue sizes for scenarios during off-hours. 12v12 is doable during primetime, but unreasonable at 3 or 4 AM.

All those stated above have all been answered already for me. I enjoy the game with no problems whatsoever. I got a active guild for pvp and pve. I got a cool server that battles back and forth (Volkmar). We stopped Destro today from reaching Stage 2 in Altdorf which caused Destro to be pissed off and jus run scenarios lol. The apprentice system should help you level. Getting to Rank 40 is a piece of pie. The client is better than before and its getting a upgrade for the 1.3.2 patch.

You obviously have not been playing long enough.  There is a reason why the game went from close to 1 mil users to possibly under 100k.  Server merges have been constant.

The game client still can't handle large RvR battles.  The endgame, like the city sieges, are lame & boring.  Class balance, and most important, faction balance is not there.

Warhammer has a lot of good ideas & concepts, most of which WoW copied btw.  But the game overall fails.  Too bad, I enjoyed T1-T3 a lot, T4 not as much, had fun for a few months but eventually the problems outweighs the good features.  Mythic only has themselves to blame, for their incompetence, idiocy & delusions.

Playing: EvE, Warhammer free unlimited trial, Allods Online
Played: Anarchy Online, WoW, Warhammer, AoC, Ryzom. Aion
Strongly Recommend: Ryzom, EvE, Allods Online

WAR is the first MMO where I managed to get to the max level. (not renown level). I loved it, however it just to broken. It could have been so much better, but it has some big design flaws. However they have to designs with will be copied in other games and some already been copied and one of those is the public quest. I directly said it will become an industry standard (Not sure if they where actually the first though). Now Champions Online also has these quest in there game.

And their dishonesty and arrogance. Players will only listen to empty claims of future fixes for so long. They are FINALLY working on reduction of crowd control. Really? Now that there are no crowds left playing.

I won't touch another game with Jacobs, Barnett, or Hickman involved.

I have been in this game since the beginning (guild beta) and the system has been getting better: I have no unstable play times, the client is great, the endgame is going to become easier to access and with the last patch even more violent.   With all these improvements and observations I believe WAR is going to get even better in a short period of time.

WAR is truly great and is constantly getting better - hopefully we will see expansion next year bringing new elements to the rvr, maybe even 3rd "neutral" faction. :)
