you guys are too funny.  I play casual, like every MMO I have ever or will ever play/played.  Its one of the things I discuss with a guild leader before I join a guild in an MMO.  I am now 25 in AION, I have never sweated or even though about levelling at all in game and am now half-way to level 26.   So just in speaking to those talking about making it to 25, for me I didnt even notice it.  And I play as casual as it gets.  Plenty of days I didnt even log in, and sometimes played for an hour or less or just crafted and hit the auction house for a short bit before logging.  Maybe since I have been playing MMOs since '99 I just know how to pace myself and maximize xp and all that or some of you just arent smart enough to level at a steady pace or maybe you are just lying trolls -- i dont know.  But I do know this, you can play any MMO casually and still level and get gear and have a great time.  If I did it in games like EQ and L2, I sure as heck can and will do it in AION.

To all the young wowtards out there: Slow and steady, MMOs arent a race, they are a journey.  Enjoy it.

Oh this reminds me of the days I spent as a young slow-levelling Dwarven Cleric in EQ.  I would go to the shore in Butcher Block Mountains just to watch the sun set...

The game fleshes out differently for everyone playing it, including the OP (if he does bother to do so).

To the OP: There's really no way to predict how the game will go for you until you try it. If you're scared of wasting your time, don't bother. You can't go half-assed into a major MMO with the attitude that it may suck and you could be throwing money away, as you'll be starting it with that rose tint to your glasses.

If at first you don't succeed, pay someone who will.

What I need to know is where is the game at as of today...
Did they add anything new, or are they planning anything like very soon?
How is the community? Is it an active community? Are people really into PvP?
How would you define your experience right now without talking about endgame or grinding, just like the fun factor.
I am looking into getting into it, and to me it will be just a casual game I will be playing a couple of hours a week, something to fill in the PvP gap that I'm feeling hehe...
Please do not start arguing about game mechanics, don't troll, don't be abusive, just looking to get some insight...
    Thanks

Look, for sure there is people who like this game.

It is not a bad game

Personally though, having played every major MMO since UO the game is boring

    There is no fun whatsoever.

To me the game is so solo oriented that there is no point in playing it as a MMO.

Of course you can play with people (or against) but the game doesn't really push you to do so, it has to be your own decision.

I am a player who likes MMO which are heavily oriented in group play both in PvE or in PVP, where playing in group makes all the difference in succeding.

Aion is not one of those games unfortunately, it has Raids apparently but the rest of the game is a solo funfest.

WoW is much better if you like this kind of games......and to me WoW is a 7 out of 10, so not even a really good game.

But if you like a game where you can achieve almost everything without grouping then Aion might be for you.

If you skip major campaigns and other group-oriented quests then sure, you could make the PvE portion of this game solo-centric. If you take in all the quests and do them at the levels they were designed, then it's hardly going to be JUST about soloing. I'd honestly like to see any level 16 - 20 solo the Krall/Black Claw quests, as an example.

I know that you already got most of your answer but I just wanted to add my insight.  I love the game but I can admit to it having problems.  A good MMO is like having a gf/bf  there will be trouble but is it worth it to stay?

    First the Good,

Excellent graphic, great music (I love the music), community is pretty good.  Easy to use IU and great combat! Crafting is rewarding becaue its hard work but the work ordes make it a breeze.  Manastones make customiztion great.

    The BAD,

Bots are annoying but being dealt with. In reality they will never be beaten.  These are the same bots that exist on WOW.  Know how I can tell? They are the same companies that are selling the gold.   Level 25 Pvp is hell with no help, Casters are OP, and Flight time needs to be addressed.  These are thing that can get better so I stick with it.

I read an article about people *touring* MMOs recently and I could not agree more.  The cold fact is MMOs will have issues and none are perfect.   I think Aion has a bright future because the staff communicates with its players, they reward, and they listen.  They may not do every single thing you ask but you have to look at the big picture with MMOs. Their desicions effect all of us.
