If any of you out got Dragon Age, how many of you feel if this is what Bioware meant by "story driven" for SWTOR? How many of you out there felt it will be totally different?

I just hope they wont make us buy quests with real money, quest that grant exclusive in game rewards, like they did with dragon age. Trend anyone? I just feel slightly disturbed to see bioware do this.
If you stand VERY still, and close your eyes, after a minute you can actually FEEL the universe revolving around PvP.
There is no BioWare, there is only EA.
normally when you see EA attached to a name you have to expect some kinda of Wallet molestation.
Mythic was Amazing now EA/Mythic......Warhammer
I think what they do is they invest a ton of Cash if the Game dosnt do super amazing in the first 6 months they give up on it. Ea is strictly buisness and Dosnt give a Ratz behind about the consumer. I hope they are starting to learn not to mess with some things like Bioware. When i see Bioware im like Hooray and when i see EA im a little hesitant because im not sure if i can afford the Game then lol. So with Star wars i hope they give Bioware 100% creative power and dont stick there Fat greedy hands into this Cookie Jar.
I'm going to reserve my answer until I've played through the game completely at least twice. If the game really is different both times, then I'll be all for their idea. If it is the exact same game but the "hate" meter at the bottom of the NPC paperdoll is different, then I'll be sorely disappointed.
WOW are you serious?I didn't know they did that with the game, that is real sad money grinding.Funny when i keep hearing all this SOE hate, and i see so many developers raping or ripping off their player base.
Did they at least announce on the package that you had to pay to get the whole game?imo they are not extras they are the game and are trying to grind more money out of you.IMO it is grounds to ask for a refund,no way a game should be asking for more money after you already purchased it,i don't care how they try to disguise it,it is still a lie and bs.
The more i read into EA the more i realize what a crooked operation they are. They are trying to recoup that 400 million they spent buying PLAYFISH by layoffs[nice way to reward your employees who helped to make you millions] saving 100 million and ways like this to grind more money out of their faithful customers.IMO EA deserves a slap a good one ,try not supporting them for their antics,it is a good way to send the message LOUD and clear.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Yeah companies have been overdoing it with DLC lately, it's the new trend. But Bioware isn't the first doing that.
So far I like Dragon Age quite a lot. I really hope they do some more DLC or expansion but at reasonable prices. It would be nice to move on with your character.

Thats why I refuse to buy dragon age, Im not spending 60 bucks and have them nickle and dime another 40 out of me by the time its all said and done. Ill just wait until the price drops enough to where i can get all of the game for less than 60. What their doing is a massive rape job and people dont care.
Waiting for:EQ-Next, ArcheAge (not so much anymore)

Dragon Age is an excellent game. I haven't had this much fun since Mass Effect. If SW: TOR is as good as Dragon Age, they have a hell of a good game on their hands.

I really enjoy the combat system in DA:O. While there are many aspects that have been well done, I do enjoy challenging combat. Reminds me a bit of Baldur's Gate (minor spoilers below)
Just did the Chantry quest where you have to go and check up on refugees. Keeping them all alive without Wynne in your group was quite challenging. But combination of sleep, grease and fireballs won the day. Along with Arrow of Slaying.
Also enjoyed the fight against Revenant near the Place of Power in the forest. This no doubt is the hardest of them all, as he also have a mage ally. Just a tip, no point doing these Revenants too early in the game.
Other boss fights like Corrupted Spider Queen were nicely done.

I agree with your sentiment, and this sort of thing makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
But having said that, the system from what i have seen so far, only prolonges gameplay, and I believe you can buy some armour. Without touching the DLC, the game is much larger than Mass Effect, and you certainly don't need anything in the DLC to play. So if you liked Mass Effect, you get more out of Dragon's Age without using the extra content. I personally don't understand what people are getting out of the service for now. Later on, when there is a lot of content, I guess it would be like buying an expansion, while keeping your character, which I don't have a problem with personally.
Dragon age, not a bad game. Not 'the greatest RPG ever' as it is being called. Story is OK...kinda gets boring after 5 minutes of the same person blathering on with some boring speach about being a$$raped by the blight.
I as many others was not too impressed to see that after bying the game...there was 'premium content' which would force me to couph up another 20-40 bucks. I can understand this content being added later for players to buy...as a mini-expansion. But to seriously have it available to buy on the first day of release is a pathetic money grab. Saying they essencially held back some content of the the game, while developing it to add this extra content. This tells the customer...$60 isn't enouph for the full game, $100 is more worth it.
As for my hope of SWtOR, I kinda hafta hold back on excitment for now. Are we gonna see ourselves paying $60 for the game, $15 for the monthly charge and an extra $20 every month or so to keep up on 'Premium content'?
I find it pathetic when posters flat out lie to try and justify their position. The total cost of premium content is $7.00 US, and that is for the Warden's Keep. The Stone Prisoner and Blood Dragon Armor are included with every new retail purchase, no additional charge.
Also, the reason that 'The Stone Prisoner' and 'The Warden's Keep' are available at launch is because EA delayed the PC release to that of the consoles. If the PC version was released earlier this year as intended by Bioware, then everyone would be paying for $15 US for the 'The Stone Prisoner' instead of having it included in the retail price of the game.
Bioware has always done a great job of telling a story...something i personally look forwad to in games. MMO's are supposed ot have stories but too many have gotten away from it.
(AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH dances with Asoka Tano)
All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care.

Don't buy it and forget about it...are you that dense? lol
"I play Tera for the gameplay"
For about a year now, I've been saying that TOR will be incorporating MT in the form of content. DA:O just tends to confirm that .However, I don't believe there will be a monthly fee also, just having to pay for content. Bioware has dropped hints about this before, and now I am more convinced than ever.
As long as there is good multiplayer experiences, I wouldn't mind a subscription fee. But if the game is mostly a single-player phased/instanced story, then I'll probably pass if there is a sub fee.

Exactly, just wait for the value pack where they have the original and all the add on packs for $30.

I think the CE (Download version) actually gives you the current DLC for free since you do not receive the other items that are in an actual box, so spending $10 extra isn't bad. You don't have to buy the DLC if you don't want to, I did, but that's because I was so impressed with the game I felt they deserved my money for current and future DLC for the game.
Linear, nickle and dime, these mean nothing to me after playing and beating the game four times unlocking every possible ending the game has to offer and seeing and reading how my actions actually affected the end. Still after all of this (59/87 achievements) I am only 70% though the content. This to me means I was able to play the game multiple times and continue enjoying every second of it. I didn't feel like quiting, not once did I get tired of it, the replay value alone was worth the initial purchase, if they feel they want to charge for future DLC, my only favor would be to ask it be as great as everything I have experienced with the current game so far. In all honesty I thought this game to be better then KOTOR, I for one am happy the morality system was not in place, your actions couldn't be summed up as good or bad until you actually got to the end and seen every small and large choice and how it exactly affected what happens. This to me is an RPG, even after playing the game four times I feel like playing it more, if SW:TOR can match this game in depth and replay value I will gladly support BioWare if they can deliver an experience that keeps me wanting more. I should also mention I'm usually the type of person to play a game through once, I never really cared about other possible outcomes, "what would have happened if" so to speak.
BioWare you're the boss.

Downright lie?
The stone prisoner costs 1200 points
the Wardens Keep costs 560 points.
That is 1760 points = $7.00 for 560 points and $20.00 for 1600 points. So that equals $27.00. I bought retail purchase and did NOT get 'Stone prisoner'. But I did get a code for the dragon armor...which I used and never recieved the armor or quest on how to get the armor.
I am not lying to justify anything...no more than I feel you are lying to justify your position.
Also if you are gonna tell me they are charging for extra content because it was delayed...that is total crap. There is no reason at all why PC users should be charged. If these two quests are included in the console versions, then they should be free to download f or the PC version.

First the quest are not required for the game. Its like getting made because they added more content to a game. Hello that is a good thing. WoW charges 20+ per add on and I do not see you people bitching about that.
Second the quest are not free to Consoles.
The stone prisoner comes with the CE box and I spend the 7 dollars to get the wardens keep armor because the game is fun and I will be playing it over again and again.
Third the "Dragon Armor" that you got the code for is in the game for you to buy or find. It is not just handed to you.
I spend a total of $65 on the CE game box and 7 for the wardens keep armor and I would do it again. This the best RPG i have ever played. My roommate and I both started playing at the same time, I have a dwarf commoner warrior and he has an danish elf rogue and our stories though the game are totally different. We are both at about the same point in the story.
Sooner or Later
i got the digital delux edition myself for 52 dollars from impulse and got all the DLC there are 9 items in my tab some form the browser game tho and the ring from charactor creator but if you preordered the special edition it coms with all the extra content plus a few other things. tho it was 15 dollars more than for the reg but if you wanted the extras it worth it.

"* Every new retail box of DA:O contains a promotional code on a promotional code card which when redeemed provides a free download of The Stone Prisoner. Digital purchases of DA:O will have the code emailed."
Direct from Dragon Age's website, let me repeat it, every new retail box, not just the CE, every new retail box . That it is how it worked for me and everyone else I know. If you paid for the Stone Prisoner then I feel sorry for you. If you did not receive a promotional code card for the Stone Prisoner, then you should have contacted support. Once the Blood Dragon Armor is downloaded and installed, the Breast Plate will be in your inventory. The other three are really cheap and easily purchased from the merchant buy time your character can even wear them.
So again, the only additional cost is $7.00 US for the Wardens Keep. If anyone paid for the Stone Prisoner, then consider it an ignorance tax of $15.00 US.
Did you check the other side of your dragon armor code for the stone prisoner activation key? I found mine on the other side.

Look for the card that has Mass Effect 2 on one side and a big rock dude on the other. It will look like one of those advertisement inserts that are always placed in the box. That will have your codes on it, one on each side, for blood dragon armor and the golem.
