MO have PvE. I just saying what people I know is saying, those that have tried DF and is now playing MO. The games feels totally different. MO is much more fun.
But I recommend the OP to not go for what me, Terminus-Est or any other say about this game. OP should check out MO himself of about some weeks. Every second week lots is patch in and many bugs fixed. Hopefully the NDA will be lifted soon so the OP will get proper feedback.
MO's PvE isn't in yet - hopefully it will have it eventually, but not yet (other than a few placeholder mobs).
Also, you do realise that the OP can't just 'check out MO himself', without forking out a substantial amount of cash? By the time he finds out what garbage it is, it will be too late. Your post seems really bad advice.
What a lie. PvE is in. Placeholders ...? Not really.
And why should he trust you? Who are you, that is so ... honest ... ?
The OP should judge the game himself instead listen on people here.

How many different kinds of mobs are there in game right now? I can think of seven, but I am maybe missing some. And they are just fairly randomly placed (apart from one exception). How can you possibly say that 'PvE is in'?
The OP is free to trust whomever he likes. Trusting me involves saving his money. Trusting you means forking out a large sum of cash.

You really believe that the 50 bucks or whatever for the DD is a large sum of cash, hell if the OP is anything like most people he probably eats out or gets fast food every once in awhile, instead of doing that save the cash buy some pasta or something that you can make from the store and in probably a month you will have the money to buy MO.
Like I have said before if your on the fence about the game, wait till game is released or NDA is lifted, so the people that say this will be a bad game and the people that say this will be a good game can give proof. There are plenty of people out there that will shit on a games name because they say for example love darkfall and don't want a similar better game being released god knows why but anyway until there is actual proof to backup claims don't trust what people say.

Lol, often is fast food actually cheaper than cooking a good meal at home. Not something new either, in Pompeii and Herculeum had only rich people kitchens, the poor had to go to the pizzeria.
Still, 50 bucks is nothing to me but I still prefer to test a MMO before purchasing it. I will wait until I have a free trial to decide. I think the pay for beta system sucks, beta testing should be about fixing bugs and making the game better, not something you just do to have fun. I think that you get the wrong people when you use this system. Not that Star vault is the only one doing this, Mythic did the same and Cryptic also.
I think that the betas is more about marketing and less about making the games ready for launch today, maybe it somewhat explains why MMOs are so bug ridden at launch.

I dunno, I go to wendys and get a spicy chicken meal its 5 to 7 bucks depending on size, I go to walmart and buy pasta and some pasta sauce it costs about the same but feeds me for 3 days. Now if you can get full off a dollar cheeseburger from Mcdonalds thats another story.
I understand where you prefer to test an MMO before buying it, so do I usually especially with all the recent disappointments. There is 2 sides to the pay for beta system, yes you will get some people that bought it just to play it like a game, than there are others and take that further and think about the fact that they are having the chance to shape the game. Me personally I bought it to support SV so they can finish the game, I don't like to play betas because I tend to burn myself out when I do and I don't play it at official launch.

If this is true and you can survive off of "pasta and some pasta sauce" for 3 days, you must have a horrible looking body. Sorry but I'm just calling it how I see it.

I played MO and went back to darkfall/EVE, MO Sucks, it is in ALPHA. And was a total scheme if u ask me. The game wont be out (completed and profitable) til 2011 or more IMO.
But for people holding on to the pipe dreams, I hate to say it, it will fail you worse then Darkfall did.
I resubbed to darkfall for the new expansion and the fact that AV has more communications. Also I like the direction they are going.

I am sure that DFO is a better game now so many months after release, than MO which is merely a beta. But many MO beta testers are enjoying the beta not only for the sake of gameplaying, but also the addictive feeling that they are forming a new game. What is the ultimate game play if this is not?
Seems some here confuse existence and quantity. There is still more PvE in MO than there ever was in DFO, anyway.
Not really. Its about the same, unless you consider RP PvE to be better or you are talking about what you hope to happen after they fix the mob AI to actually work.

This is a great example of someone who expected a free trial or an open beta for finding bugs. This was sold as a pre order. The chance to test an un-finnished game went along with the pre order. SV told everyone that the beta would not be fun. It would be painfully to test and boring at times. That is exactly what is being tested. It has come along way, but still has a very long way to go.
To the OP, if you want to help test and possibly shape a game as it is being developed. Go ahead and buy the pre order. If you want an actual fun and complete game. Don't waist your money. To even test the game, you need a minimum of 5 hours to grind materials to get to a skill level to do much of anything except exploration.
There is no trial for MO. It is painful testing that some people actually like. As far as launch, it will probably be 2nd quarter of 2010, but who really knows?
How many people long for that "past, simpler, and better world," I wonder, without ever recognizing the truth that perhaps it was they who were simpler and better, and not the world about them? R.A.Salvatore

This is great advice.
The problem is he's giving it in the wrong forum, and has no idea what in the hell he's talking about.
If the game were years away from release, then pre-order now. You could enjoy testing the beta for years without paying every month.
Edit: with the "risk" that the game is actually only months away from release.
