Dungeons become an adventure once again. They only need some brutal and original spawn and secrets to discover! It'd be a great work sealed in flames from SV!
How do the devs expect this game to run in massive battles?
Honestly if thats what exploring through just a cave is like and with the graphics engine limiting combat to small skirmish I can see the community turning into a more pve focused bunch.

Why? There will be more penalties than artificial limitations. I do no see a problem to enter a dungeon if you fit with your horse. If you check some of the other videos you will see that there are holes that you must dismount to pass. I dream of the times when peoples run out of the Theme Park stereotype and open their mind for something new (and not so new)
PS: Also limiting mounted peoples mean big disatvantage for them as such peoples have Riding skill that use from their skill pool.

Well, for one, I am not sure horses like caves very much, but ok.
I get an oblivion feel from that video, may just be the whole torch thing, but the horses have to go.

some spiders there, a few mining ores, minus the horses, a battle in a rope bridge surrounded by giant spiders, and a big spider queen with their most strong minions protectin her at the botton = full of WIN
now: GW2 (11 80s). Dark Souls 2. future: Mount&Blade 2 BannerLord. "Bro, do your even fractal?" Recommends: Guild Wars 2, Dark Souls, Mount&Blade: Warband, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

I hope they add several different mobs within that cave ... so we don't know at all what to expect exploring there.
I hope the spiders in this game ... is really poisonous.

I disagree. Your vision sort of feels like a typical Onyxia Lair dungeon crap, that is, an average linear instanced prefabricated boring adventure. We don't want that for a real MMO simulation the classic way.
A dungeon in a real persistant world should provide crazy hard hidden puzzles and riddles to solve with the help of all the populace, stuff that's persistantly there for anyone to see and explore in real-time without any loading break between the open world and the dungeon itself.
some kind of fat boss should be there, but it shouldn't be all there is to it.... don't forget interaction with the environment, doors to unlock, floor pavement to press, the good old beholder's way.
Stop thinking in common places, forget what you have learnt from the clones, cause IMO for now you're thinking of dungeons the WoW way.
Did you alkl see the part where he was interacting witht he bridge? You actually have to build it to continue exploring and anyone can come alond and destroy the bridge.
I was thinking perhaps you would want to destroy the bridge or cut the lines after you cross to prevent another group of people behind from ganking you quickly (without taking the time to rebuild)
I wonder if the devs will change that? Honestly I don't know how mounts work in MO so YOu may have to take them in just to keep from getting them stolen since the game is full loot ffa pvp. I havent read if mounts can be placed in your bags like DF.
No mounts are separate entities and are not pocketable. They also must be fed and kept loyal.
Mounts can NOT cross water so I imagine anytime the devs wish to "take away your mount" they could have you doing some swimming. I would also love to see a system where you have to dive underwater to reach another section of the cave. Sooo much potential here.
seriously what the fuck is wrong with you people saying that looks awesome did you not notice that there isn't a single fucking thing down there? not one NPC or monster of any kind...you could barely see shit and there were a bunch of doors and NONE of them opened or went anywhere... what exactly is cool or cutting edge about that besides nothing? in fact its total fucking garbage and Star Vault should be embarrassed...actually no I take that back...the fanboi's are the ones that should be embarrassed for actually buying into this god awful horse shit that the SV devs are calling content and the future of MMO sandbox gaming(lol!)
You are clearly a hater and MO isnt the type fo game for you.
The cave is dark because its a cave. Caves that are dark require you to bring a torch into the cave. This feels like a dungeon.
They are still building the cave, there is no telling what will be in ther int he next build.
You should be ashamed, you are like that kid who spits on a girl he likes and then gets mad when she doesnt like you back.

It seems that dev team is working hard.

It is a question of fangs.

THe game is freaking gorgeous!!!!

Which isn't a bad thing at all.
I'm just stunned that it looks that good.
PLaying: EvE, Ryzom
Waiting For: Earthrise, Perpetuum
That's impressive, but I wanna see the entire game first, and play it.
I've been burnt out a lot.
Can dungeons once again become a great adventure
Not if you can take your horses in.

I can agree, I dont like horses in dungeons. But that will probably be changed.
Gorgeous, it really is. It borrows a lot (surprisingly) from WOW in the layout, but the design is great.

the best blog of the net
Guys, you are all wrong! this is not a DUNGEON, this is a CAVE with 7-8 doors to go in some dungeons.
Yes, you are right. My fault. Even thou some part of it is more like a dungeon.
Awesome video. Really looking forward to seeing this place finished.
Looks really nice havent had much time to play around with MO I guess its time to give it another good go.
Did you alkl see the part where he was interacting witht he bridge?

My sig is just as logical as your posts are

Also Beta is for testing not for playing.

Great video and I really love the look of the cave so far. It seems the torch lighting needs some work but overall the darkness is really nice.
Hoping for a wonderful game with a great feel to it! Love the cave and I really wish the makers a very best of luck in the creation of this game ^^
It does look great but imo the game still needs another year or so to be finished...
completely agree - something just feels wrong there
anyway it is a great "looking" cave
the problem - absolutely nothing is going on in there
exploration for explorations sake is uhm, interesting but it is a game and something should happen - hopefully stuff will get dumped in there
i did like the "beta" comment from one poster - - - still apparently releasing within a month - just too much to add and test
thinking this game will be very interesting in a year or so
a pre thank-you to those that will be supporting this game with your hard earned cash while they develop it (not sarcasm - i actually mean that)
