Need more Earthrise. Come on, it's practically perfect on paper. I just hope they can deliver. I haven't played many Bulgarian games.

Well it seems odd that Blizzard chose to delay Starcraft 2 just so they can carry on with WoW, I'm not saying WoW's bad, the actual gameplay is nice but it's the biggest amount of actual players in WoW that are the problem, just go see their official forums and you'll see the most god awful online trolling community ever. I mean, would you really want to play a game if your new to the game and you ask for help and all you got were horrible replies and stupid old jokes like "you suck" and "Your mom" jokes, that to me does not sound like a game I would like to enjoy.

Exactly why I left WoW after 2 years of play. It got to the point of feeling like I was paying $15 a month for virtual daycare and to be verbally punished on a daily basis. NOT an enjoyable environment to play in...unless your a sadist maybe.

    But on topic...

    - SWTOR

    - JGE

    - FF XIV

Not looking forward to anything, trying to support the game I am playing, which is what you should be doing. If you have been on these forums for more than two years and still believe in the 'next best thing' you must have had your head in the sand.

    Faulty assumption.

Overuse of logical terms when the guy was just venting.

I take you haven't tried Aion.

sure Aion is a "modern MMO" which seems really pointless in gameplay...now only could bring meself to play it to lvl 13 or so. lucky enough its been in a borrowed beta account.

well would say FF XIV.....but seems ppl I play with want to play SW: ToR.  oh well the 2 big hitters of the year if we take this little poll for a general picture. tho really indoubt about how long lived ToR is.

my main problem with MMOs at this point tho, is there are so many and I for one prefer to get a sense of community in online gaming. which take time to build...especially when "everyone" is on their way somewhere else.

well am hoping for EQ2 next expansion, just the last expansion they made into a instance grinder. and ppl started act like the game is all about the loot....which is just sad...but true in its current form (the raids in the current expansion is awesome imo tho, lots of cooperation needed, and everyone can fail....no more point at tank n healer yay ;P )

if next expansion is nothing but instance grinding, it will be another "dark year" on the online front...

I guess I might be interested in Heroes of Telara. It looks alright, just not really sure on the company and the current state of the game.

I am eagerly awaiting news on this game as well. All the talk of the possible bad health of the company has me worried because to date I have seen no response to these comments from anyone at Trion.

A game world from the minds that created the Might and Magic franchise intrigues me but what got me hooked was the features they touted that seem to be aimed directly at squashing many if not all of the game killing problems that plague nearly all MMOGs to date.

New players will be able to adventure with top veterns and both can progess effectively and profit.

I left EQ mainly because when I traveled through zones created for new players there was not a soul there. It was definately not a solo friendly game and when most of the population shifted to the high end new players were left with few or no people to group up with. Leveling up in EQ during the early days was fun because high level players would often come to low level zones to help out new players or to hunt the high level pest mobs that roamed the zones.

The game world will not always remain the same. Zones will change, NPCs will not be static and these changes can be the result of player actions.

I have played in my share of good and not so good role playing guilds.  The theme is the same in all of them though. The holy grail of this style of play is an ever changing world where almost nothing is static. The designers of this game want EVERY player to feel heroic (or evil) and this feature will go a long way towards achiveing it. Now, I am not huge on RP but I take my hat off to those that are. If you build it, they will come. I predict that this game will attract roleplayers in droves and many heroic stories will be created and perhaps even written about as a result. If I may coin the phrase this *anti-static* world will lend itself to far more than role playing paradise, however. Merely moving into a certain area at a certain time could trigger an epic quest that is a one off deal. The quest could result in unique gear or world changing lore or both for the lucky, or perhaps clever, player who triggers it .

Character "level" is not central to this game and every character can be many "classes".

In EQ at least, alternate characters or ALTs were often a nuisance but at some times a boon- especially if that ALT was helping your group grind xp or teaching new players etiquette and or tactics. In HoT you can "level" several classes on a single character though only one at a time. This opens up possibilities that almost no other game currently offers. You can get into far more groups and spend less time waiting for the right group because you can switch to the class they need at the moment without having to level several different characters of varying classes.

These are the features that caught my interest because I believe they are genre changing. I expect many more games to come with similar ones because they will need them to compete. There are many more though. Check out www.heroesoftelara.com to see them all.

SW: ToR of course, since I'm a big fan of Bioware games.

I'll check FF14, GW2 and WoW Cataclysm for sure too

For me it has to be SW:TOR  I love bioware games and can't wait for this, really hope they perform well with this.

Mostly looking forward to The Old Republic, Guild Wars 2 and Final Fantasy XIV. Although I'm not sure if any of those games will be out this year.

I was sort of looking forward to Cataclysm, until I realized that it's going to be the same old gear grind. Don't get me wrong, WoW is a great game but I just can't bring myself to mindlessly grind dailies and heroics anymore. If there was a graphics update, at least for the models, I may grab it, just to see the changes and what not.
