I would like to start a small techno collection. I would like techno that I can game to and techno that sounds good. I don't really want rave, but trance is fine. The only techno artist I listen to is Scooter. Anything like Scooter's mixes would be great. Thanks, I am new to the genre.

Ill reccomend you this instead
:O
But really... I dont know or listen to techno really... the only song I have which I thought is kinda cool (although I dont think it really counts as techno or not) is called frontier pyschiatrist by Avalanche.
Me niether. It is just a nice change from listening to classic rock and nu metal for the past 10 years.

Here are a couple others I just thought of... again they arent really techno, not sure if youd like them or not, but theyre not classic rock or metal.
Metric, The Sounds and Modest Mouse.
Well, you have to listen to Prodigy. That's mandatory.
Also, listen to the song "Underdog" by Boom Boom Sattelites. I listen to that when I play CS and HL2. If you like it check out the other bands songs. The only thing is some songs are kind of techno/rock (Dive For You, is one that is like that) and the others I haven't seen because the band is pretty underground. If you can find them though give them a listen.
Tatu and Daft Punk
lol

Yeah, Modest Mouse is a pretty good Indie Band. They've just recently become popular with their Good News for People Who Love Bad News album (heard Float On quite a few times on the radio), causing them to become more well-known. Another real good album of theirs before they hit it big would be The Moon & Antarctica. And if you find out you like them a couple of other good bands would be Radiohead, Wilco, and Interpol (although that one is kind of pushing it categorizing it as Indie).
The other genres of music I listen to would be Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, etc... (everything from Led Zeppelin to Iron Maiden, Metallica to the Rolling Stones, Guns N Roses to Pink Floyd ) but it seems you already have listened to all that stuff and want something new.

The only reason Tatu was semi-popular was because they were lesbians. Three weeks later people forgot who they were.
And Daft Punk had one annoying one hit wonder song. Again, you won't be seeing them anytime soon.
I'm not sure if you are joking or being serious. After all, you did use to listen to emo.

Those girls were pretty. Anyways, I loved the HL2 soundtrack. What techno somewhat sounds like the HL2 soundtrack. Somewhat trance with a little rave.

Vegas by The Crystal Method. That's the only techno artist I really like. Try Frou Frou too, thei not really heart pumping techno, but it's pretty calming stuff.

Yeah, I know. You gotta put some sense in the hijackers.
Let me break it down, Admjn, I did not ask for shitty, overrated, so-called new era rock, I asked for hardcore fugging techno. Thank you.

I'm sooo damn sorry that I asked a question that relates to this thread. So let me break it down, Kiamde, I was just asking a question and you dont have to go and crap a fuking brick about it.
I realize you are looking for techno, so I guess next time I will start my own thread.
Thanks for understanding.
