My main reason for leaving months ago was the crap engine. The thing would stutter even when I was soloing let alone a siege.
They seem to have fixed that and the game is running smoothly for me. I have had no lack of T2 or T3 action and RvR, although I am still re-learning how to play my toons.
I really have no idea what these people are talking about lag, stuttering and such, played since launch til current at max settings and never been below 60 fps even it the worst stacked aoe stair battles

Same however even these days I do notice since the changes it does run smoother and with a better then normal FPS.

It's no mystery this game wasn't exactly optimized back at release and ran tough on the computer for many people (god knows what the problem was, some people with lesser computers apparently ran better than others with top computers, but clearly, plenty of people had trouble regardless, as did some apparently have none but still). It's not for nothing the recent performance improvements are heralded like a good step forward.

Yes, I believe that's the one. They have been taken under Bioware's* wing.
In Mythic's defence, if you're now enjoying WAR due to the core gameplay elements involving both scenario RvR and open world RvR, Bioware had nothing to do with that. Mythic came up with some decent ideas - public quests, etc.
They just failed fairly hard on the game engine programming side of things =/

I am playing EVE and it's alright... level V skills are a bit much.

That's a bit of an interesting point actually - to what extent do Mythic OR Bioware even exist any more? Both were bought by EA (Mythic alone, Bioware as part of VG Holdings along with Pandemic Studios) and EA appears to control them completely (as evident by the disbanding of Pandemic last year).
Are not Mythic and Bioware now simply brand names that EA can slap on pretty much anything they like? I mean, the former heads of Bioware now lead the "EA MMO group" but they're still beholden to EA management. If they don't perform they'll likely go the same way as Marc Jacobs did.
It seems to me that Bioware exists in name only anymore. If the company can be reorganized or downsized at whim, and the staff can be moved around however a third-party sees fit - that's not really a company any more, it's just another department within a giant conglomerate.
The New Dev won't listen to player base anymore, thats what started the huge mess in the first place in beta.
What are you talking about? Please explain to us how in the world listening to the consistent complaints by the players ruined the game? Especially when the key concerns & complaints were ignored for almost a year. Such as the broken game client, the overabundance of CC and AoE, ridiculous class imbalance (aka the BW mania) and the fact that city sieges suck. Mythic consistently ignored these problems in spite of players constantly complaining about it.
What I assume you must be referring to is the handful of beta testers who kissed ass to the developers and pretty much gave all the input while the rest of the beta testers were ignored. And their input was essentially "Bright Wizards need to be more powerful".
Whoever your source is, he and the rest of whatever is left at Mythic need a wake-up call. They never listened to the players in the first place.

While meetxj9 is full of nonsense, saying Mythic never listened is just as nonsensical. All the patches since months back have been working on all of the player complaints and improvement of the game. They listen and they care, changes take time to research and develop.

dont know if its better since i never passed lvl 5 i did try their endless trial and for some weird reason it just doesnt seem to grab me .i couldnt say why tho!
Question: Did you do any oRvR? How about SCs? The PvE in this game is fine, but is is just like other MMOs except for a few functions so if you did not reach the RvR(PvP) then I could easily see why you would think that.
PvE is not fine. Most boss fights are extremely basic and boring, and mobs are often warping and hyper-running all over the place.
Until Hunters' Vale was put in, there were no low-level instances to run group for. It's okay, but there should be at least one for each of their pairings. Low-level lairs are a joke.

For the most part, I agree with you, but Mythic did listen in one area (which they probably should not have) - keeps and greater importance of open RvR. I very much doubt if Mythic was up front about the limits of their engine WRT mass combat, so the testers couldn't know that what they envisioned simply wouldn't run properly.

oRvR is the largest element in Zone capture. What more do you want? IF you like oRvR great, but some people like myself like SCs because they are more balanced and less redundant.

I like both aspects of the game's PvP. Scenarios are balanced (sort of), and open RvR has an effect in the world (sort of).
My point was that the game would not have had so many performance issues had open RvR been a minor part of the campaign as Mythic originally planned.
Adding Nordenwatch to all tiers of scenarios is one of the best changes they have made since launch.

During Beta, Mythic was told that the game client needs serious work, that AoE & CC was way over top and that class balance was completely skewed with BWs sitting as the kings. None of those issues were addressed. When the game launched and city sieges were available, the overwhelming feedback is that they suck, are boring and are essentially a grind of PvE objectives with a PvE battle at the end. This was not addressed and still has not been addressed.
The developers finally started fixing these issues in the summer. That is about 9 months after launch. By that time, most of the players simply quit as they were not being LISTENED TO and just gave up on Mythic. Acknowledging key concerns 9 months later is not exactly listening to your playerbase.

Wrong again, I was in beta. BWs did not become powerful like that until months after release, thus why destro walked all over them and everyone wanted to play destro, then it flipped and BWs came to power and people swapped to order and now with the nerf a few months back it has been corrected and the game is once again balanced. City seiges have been addressed. Obviously you have not played, nor read patch notes. LoD is a different story, if you do not like it don't go there, plain and simple.
It took time to research and develop proper fixes, look what happens when developers rush fixes(glares at the sad implementation of pvp on WoW and getting worse all the time.)
WAR has a balanced game for PvP and the fixes take time.

City sieges have been adressed. There you have it. Problem solved...
Wait? What are you talking about? Adressed how? You make it sound like it was broken and now is fixed. What does adressed even mean? People still tire of City sieges daily at the moment.
Also, stating you can just avoid LoD if you don't like it is another ridiculous statement, it has rewards you can't get anywhere. That's the basis of MMO's, reward structures pull people to content, and that is the same with LoTD (talismans). Sure, he can chose not to be there after he gets what he wants to have, but he'll still have to do it before that.
Complain on WoW all you want. It's 'fixes' and 'sad implementation' are most of the time accepted a lot happier than most of WAR's supposed 'proper fixes' you are talking about are accepted.
Look at the VN/WHA polls about the newest patch and scenario changes or the explosion on the OF about it. The vast majority of people don't like the way they have done it at all. 'Proper fix' indeed ... At least you were right about it taking a lot of time.

First off they are accepted because people who generally play WoW are sheep, I am done discussing that game. Secondly, wow really stuff people cannot get elsewhere? If you don't like a part fo a game don't play it, if you don't like the game don't play it. Simple.
WHA is a joke, the whole site is full of idiots and people who have not touched the game since release or even the last few patches, they know nothing and are NOT a voice of the actual playing community.
City Sieges are faster paced, and more intense these days, even more changes in this upcoming patch. Pheace all you do is complain, and it is becoming obvious you have not played recently, and do not like the game. If you are not paying, you have no voice, you had a voice when you paid and upon leaving, not months and months afterwords. Please leave and find something better to spend your time on.

Completely ignored the fact that I mentioned the OF, where actual *subscribers* are complaining about the exact same stuff the other forums were complaining about, heck even harsher. So your sad generalization about all of WHA being 'idiots' and having no 'voice' and being clueless was meaningless since the OF is exactly the same.
City sieges are faster paced, and more intense these days... wow... such empty words. It's exactly because they easily happen several times a day that people have grown tired of them and even then still don't find them very interesting to do. How about you go to the OF. You know, where those people with a VOICE are, and read about how they are tired of city sieges? Just in case you have trouble believing it coming from me...

You don't know anything about me. I don't dislike this game, heck, as shortly as yesterday (WHA forums) I recommended someone to try out the game, but I do think they made plenty mistakes, and personally I like discussing those since they actually have interesting discussion, There's little to discuss about things that were done right except a stream of 'yeah it's amazings!'
Honestly, if you can't handle being on a forum where people discuss a game and instead feel so annoyed you keep telling people to go away, just do so yourself. Clearly it's starting to get on your nerves.

I don't bash. I don't lie. I don't dislike the game like I already said. Funny, you sure act like it! I never attacked anyone. If I am voicing an opinion I say so, but if I am voicing fast then either I say where it is from, or it is common sense where it is from. I always acknowledge the games flaws but you exploit them exaggerate them and blow them completely out of proportion. So go on keep thinking you are right, as the line under your avatar states, you are stuck up and hard headed and just like to argue, so I will leave this so you can argue with yourself.

You may not see questioning people's integrity as an attack. I do. Feel free to find any 'exaggeration and blown out of proportion' part and highlight and prove the contrary. You'll see 90% of the time I get backed up by the people with a VOICE, on the OF, posting in the threads on the exact issues mentioned.
Yeah, I didn't expect you to actually argue about any point in particular, you just make up broad empty accusations about the posters and how they are out to get the game and lie about stuff (or now it's suddenly blow out of proportion, going back on your own words for the win).
Like I said. If the things mentioned here are such obvious lies you won't have trouble proving the contrary instead of lowering yourself to attack the posters rather than the discussion arguments, right?
I bought WAR at launch and lasted about 3 weeks, nice to see they're finally starting to fix it somewhat. Has the PvP shifted focus at all to world PvP? Cuz back when I played it most people just ran scenarios over and over and over again, because it gave the best rewards. -- Originally posted by Frostbite05 Yea its all about world pvp like it should have been from the start. -- Originally posted by spyder2k5 Rewards for SCs and ORvR are now similar and faster to do both, depending on who wins new underdog system helps.
Actually they are just now introducing weapons drops through RvR and they made the main measure of getting them through scenario's. This is coinciding with their patch that streamlines scenario's, and probably removes a few of the bad ones.
They did backpedal and mention weapon drops will be somewhat available through ORvR as well (keeps, Stage1/2) but they'll probably be of lower value (the keep ones). They made no mystery about it that the main means is scenario's and they're expecting people to be focusing on that for a while after the next patch.
So if ORvR is really your main focus, that experience will be temporarily lessened from the coming patch. May want to wait till the scenario 'honeymoon period' from the coming patch dies down and people get their weapons and leave the scenario's again.
"Some of the Scenario currency will be obtainable for characters who are Rank 40 during Keep capture/defense as well as successfully winning both Stage 1 & 2 within a city's Contested state. While the bulk of it will be obtained within Scenario play, you are also gaining it for participating in certan ORvR activities. "
Obviously it's a little early to be making a lot of speculation regarding how this will effect RvR, but yes, we would naturally expect to see people playing more scenarios with the two changes above in the weeks following the patch (some of it will be players striving to earn new weapons, partly because of the new Scenario structure, partly because it's a lot of "new shiney" features. Players will still have a reason to participate in ORvR for armor and other set pieces, however this now gives a definitive goal for Scenario gameplay. "
So they're really using the RvR weapons to focus attention on scenario's, and most likely people will be farming the heck out of them when the patch comes out
If you Actually played the game you would have seen the Currency needed also drops on ORvR quite easily too, I tried the Test Server this week and got almost same amount of the needed currency from ORvR(Taking Flag Objectives in T4 and Keeps) than I did from Scenarios, granted Scenarios will be just a bit faster but not as much as you make it sound to be, that will impact ORvR that much.
disappointed to see that instead of hitching and stuttering what had been achived was an almost strobe-like effect, the hitching & stuttering had been broken up into smaller chunks but was still very much in effect, it actually caused me to feel sick after only a few hours playing it, I really wanted this game tio deliver but it's too shallow too boring & runs like a pig in treacle on even a reasonably specced pc let along a lower end system like mine is.
If this is your complaint then please upgrade your system before trying to play. This is not a game issue, nor a server issue at this point but a computer issue on your end. I play maxed out graphics with 60-90FPS. So it becomes increasingly obvious that the complaint you are wagering is not an issue with the game, but your own computer.
I agree with Spyder, I have a 3 year old system! War runs perfect with no lag for me. I use a duel core computer tooo! Thought it was to be bad for gaming. I recommend getting your computer up to date. I use broadband a DC processer 4gigs of ram and a 59.99 1g video card from Radeon. Game runs perfect! Reminder, this computer is 3 tears old!
So yes, get a better computer or upgrade what you got!
I guess then that Mythic should probably revise their specs for the game to raise the minimum to a dual core cpu, I have a system well above their min specs that only falls below their recommended by lack of a multi core cpu.
WAR was in fact designed to take advantage of multi core cpus, so that might be the bottleneck in my performance, I have 3 gig ram an athlon fx 3500 single core cpu & an nvidia 8800gt, and every other game I play fairly flys along at a very high fps, games that put WAR's graphics to shame (yes also MMO's with more players onscreen), in that context I shall not be playing WAR again until I move to a multi-core.
Wrong again, I was in beta. BWs did not become powerful like that until months after release, thus why destro walked all over them and everyone wanted to play destro,
WTF are you talking about? The primary 3 or 4 suck-ups that Mythic listened to in Beta were all BWs and kept complaining that they should be more powerful when they already were kicking ass. BWs have went through multiple nerfs and are still overpowered. There were several discussions about this on WHA, and the fact is that numerous feedback was given to Mythic in beta regarding its key problems that continued to plague the game for 9 months.

Mythic listened to the players in Beta, and continue to listen to the players, don't blame Mythic because the majority of the testers had no issues with the game. And for f***s sake stop talking out your ass about stuff you do not know about. You have not played recently, and if you have you are just incoherently moronic to think that any single class in WAR is overpowered. They are balanced. Play them as they are meant to be and you won't have issues, play them as they are not meant to be and you will have issues.

My main reason for leaving months ago was the crap engine. The thing would stutter even when I was soloing let alone a siege.
They seem to have fixed that and the game is running smoothly for me. I have had no lack of T2 or T3 action and RvR, although I am still re-learning how to play my toons.
I think I will stay a bit.
I really have no idea what these people are talking about lag, stuttering and such, played since launch til current at max settings and never been below 60 fps even it the worst stacked aoe stair battles
Me
Same however even these days I do notice since the changes it does run smoother and with a better then normal FPS.

*I think.
I am playing EVE and it's alright... level V skills are a bit much.
You all need to learn to spell.

How about if you don't like what you read, don't read it? Simple. Just leave, and find something better to spend your time on.'
Discuss is different then bash. Reading is different then seeing the same old lies from inactive players. Why don't you take your own advice and leave? You don't like the game, you are not playing it and you and not PAYING for it. You have no credibility and only seek to waste your time and others by continuing to post on topics you know nothing about.

I don't bash. I don't lie. I don't dislike the game like I already said. And I usually back up most of my posts with facts from EA statements, Mythic posts, or other forums, including those with a VOICE unlike your empty statements of 'They're lying!' 'They are not playing!' 'They don't like the game!' 'They should go away!'.
Good luck continuing on your personal attacks though. Maybe if you feel these people are so obviously lying you should make some statements backed up by facts that they are, rather than this hot air and these sad insinuations that people are doing their best to say the game sucks and *that* is why they are wrong!

Here's the quote:
"Some of the Scenario currency will be obtainable for characters who are Rank 40 during Keep capture/defense as well as successfully winning both Stage 1 & 2 within a city's Contested state. While the bulk of it will be obtained within Scenario play, you are also gaining it for participating in certan ORvR activities. "
And quote:
"Folks,
Obviously it's a little early to be making a lot of speculation regarding how this will effect RvR, but yes, we would naturally expect to see people playing more scenarios with the two changes above in the weeks following the patch (some of it will be players striving to earn new weapons, partly because of the new Scenario structure, partly because it's a lot of "new shiney" features.
