Developers should know by now that an open beta (or a closed one for that matter) is also a means for players to test out the product, to see how far along the developers are with it and how well they respond to the feedback submitted. It goes both ways.

This is especially true for MMO's, since most don't release with a trial and demos are non-existant.

That said, an open beta usually means it's close to release. I find MO to be in a poor state (in my opinion, mind you). If I can't bring myself to play it while it's "free" (read: Open beta), why would I pay for it?

    And nakedness.....well......whatever.

Start again, cannot log in now.
Finally got logged in again, let character stand without moving. After 2 minutes, started looking around, game hung up completely, had to kill it.
So far have been unable to actually play for more than two minutes.

take the patches and save them some where get the 100 Mb installer and then run updater exe to get the newest patcher then copy patches back over and reinstall the game something got messed up reason for that crashing. had almost the same issue. so did another guy reinstall made it run fine using the right method

And they have thousands of people playing it, and some of them like it and want to keep playing. That is an achievement.
I was personally not attracted to the game as it is in today's beta, although the fundamental ideas are intriguing. If there was some other feature, like stellar graphics, I could keep playing just for the beauty and immersion.
Instead, I have to turn my graphics down to primitive levels, and the "immersion" is with a bunch of guys with their **** hanging out.

No, you are wrong of course. Same things were said about EVE, Darkfall, World War 2 Online when they were in beta or just released. Come on admit it, you said the same thing about Darkfall way back, didn't you? :)

you kids need to realize that the world does not revolve around you and your parents cash. Games do not "fail" simply because you didn't like them, there is also no point being bitter about other people enjoying these games that you did not like.

Calling people that are being realistic "kids" takes away any support in your reply.  These so called "kids" are being realistic about the game while the fans are being fanboy-istic (if that is a word) using "potential" and "hope".  I think the "kids" are actually speaking the truth as I am unsure if this game will survive for a few months from all the dumb decisions Starvault has been making lately.  But the "kids" are being realistic while the others are "hoping" for "potential" that it works.  But so far it has failed all expectations IMO.

Money makes the world go around, and so far the vast majority of people that have played the game are giving it a failing grade, just look at the poll I made.

And for the genitals in the game. Yes its new, but your just going to have to grow the fuck up and learn to except whats natural to all humans. I'm guessing you live in America, where showing any skin, is a sin against humanity and prohibited. Move to another country and see how the rest of the world lives.

The Open Beta is supposed to be the final stage before release, with the main emphasis on server stability, perhaps tweaking a few numbers here and there, and squashing as many bugs as possible before release. It is NOT a time to start adding new content that should have been completed during the ALPHA phase, nor is it a time to start doing last-minute rebuilds of core components of the game (e.g the AI), especially since the new build will need extensive testing in itself.

How long is this open beta going to last? Every bit of content they throw in at the last second will need further testing before being ready for official release. The fact that they've entered the open beta phase when they were so obviously unready for it demonstrates either naivety, or desperation as their cash runs dry and the development cycle becomes untenable. Neither is a good sign.

If MO is a plane, then the pilot is currently conducting the pre-flight checks while two guys are still trying to weld the wings on and the landing gear is broken. Not an airline I'd like to fly with.

As for the nudity, it's a fine line between maturity and purile immaturity. A bit of nudity in the right context can give the game a more adult feel, but a train of naked thieves waving their dicks in someone's face is just pathetic and, quite frankly, embarrassing. Take a look out of your window, how many people do you see streaking through town? Yes, it's a problem with the playerbase rather than the concept itself, but unfortunately when you have an online game you have to take into consideration the fact that it only takes a handful of people to abuse a feature of the game to ruin it for everyone else.

I have to ask(on not):  Is there a dick length and width option when creating a male character?

If so, MO will probably be the first online game to have 3 legged male humans.  :)
