This community admin was a real tool and it seems like everytime I hear about this game it's got too many problems to be any good

You know your game has problems when even the Fanbois doubt you

I was amazed at his responses. Very unprofessional, almost as if he was sitting at home in his jammies with a finger up his nose while he was posting it.

Good riddance, I say (If he really quit that is). I hope the rest of the team isn't like him, from a professional point of view.

i would like to take this StJudas side. he went nowhere near offensive, his response was mild enough.

And OP (the one from MO forum)  sounded like troll. He does not point a single particular flawed feature apart from lag. Hes just complaining overall (the game sux etc). I would rather read about some specific issues (for example, invisible walls or game crashes)

    Playing: Rohan
Played (from best to worst): Shadowbane, Guild Wars, Shayia, Age of Conan, Warhammer, Runes of Magic, Rappelz, Archlord, Knight online, King of Kings, Kal online, Last chaos

Yes it is true.  He actually apologized for the posting the question and admits it was wrong.  Now the guy actually gained some respect from me as opposed to the (few) folks that were trying to justify his postings.   Everyone makes mistakes and he admitted his head on.  I'd have no problem if they let him back into the program at some point.

    Thanks,

it's about time and i wasnt that proud on the last post i made tbh. So im sorry i made it but the reason is more or less im burnt out. I hope the guy can forgive me. Anyway have a good game all.

    As I posted before:

1: As a Community Manager, did StJudas handle the situation to best resolve the issue while maintaining a professional and positive light on Mortal Online and/or StarVault?

2: With what StJudas said, did it do anything to help or improve the public view of Mortal Online and/or StarVault?

    I say no to both.

However, he did apologize and admitted fault. I salute him for that. Should he be allowed back? Meh.

Why didnt he just do this earlier? Appologize and move on. Shit happens and people make mistakes and this guy was man enough to admit that

Only reason he owned was the outcry in posts like this. .  I'm sure he was given two options, resign gracefully or be forced.

    But ya know what?

If they can (somehow) pull a good game out of this... I'd play wether he was there or not, as I'm sure a good many others..

It was one incident where he lost his cool to someone slandering his company with rumours and opinions.. Should the guy have lost his job for it? Not in my opinion, but then again, I haven't followed the game, and I'm using this single incident, as most here are.

But thats why I'm probably not in Customer Service... :)

Slander: a malicious, false, and defamatory statement

Please install the game and then come back to discuss.  Also, there was supporting quotes provided in the discussion where the developers freely admit their inexperience.  One programmer was hired with 6 months experience programming a milk carton machine and the lead programmer says he was hired because he had 2-2.5 years of experience as a modder.

It could hardly be called slander to question whether these folks have the experience to put together a FFA Sandbox MMORPG, particularly if you tried to download/install/patch/play the Open Beta.

Feel free to leave... or perhaps send him a strongly worded PM informing him of your beliefs.

You approve of a company "chewing out" a potential customer?  Why do you want everyone to leave the MO community if they ask tough questions?  Is it because they are not "hardcore" enough to stay with MO/SV?  You know that SV needs as much money as possible as they had to open this beta up to the public just to try and make a few more bucks to survive until release.  Why are you approving of alienating potential customers that can keep SV alive?

I know your a fan, but a company raging against the guy in public is very unprofessional and the admin should get his powers revoked.

You actually consider that being chewed out? It may have been a little harsh, maybe a little unprofessional, but something to get your feelings hurt over? Not in my opinion. Hell I've seen the admin of this site be more condescending than that to posters here.

Considering what the OP said, the mod was a little light on the reply IMO. I'll agree that it should have been just locked or ignored by SV employee's, though I don't see grounds for anyone to lose a job over what was said. A company has a right to defend their integrity, again in my opinion.

Normally I would agree with you-

Having followed this game though I fully understand the OP- This game is broken beyond belief... When something is this bad (and I suggest you dont take my word on it- Download and try to play the open beta) is in open beta, the forum is filled with a million posts of people having issues and no official help/announcment/anything.

Dude, this was the worst experience I EVER had in a game. Period. (and I was at Vanguards launch- well 2 weeks after launch) along with a plethora of open and closed betas.

It was so bad, I cannot even begin to articulate it. The Op was making a valid point and then the Mod (who hadnt answered ANYONES questions or helped ANYONE for (at minimum) Days- Pops in like the game is great and the op is QQing for no reason.

-Seriously bro, try the game and you will better understand.

Ahh.. Can you then prove they are running out of money?  I honestly don't know, and this was the basis of that point.. If its been said, then i certainly retract that statement

Look the guy was a tool...

Is the game in bad shape, I don't know, but i can assume it is from what i have read here, as i said earlier, he is within his right to complain, no doubt,  but his method was poor, and he acted like a jerk...

Yes.. read their forums and you will see staff reply that they know the game will be launching uncomplete but they do not have money to keep it going without launching.

StJudas is a douche. I remember when few members were unhappy about a new mod he chosen, since she was way to strict and edit posts containing words "shit" or the like (And that's on a 18+ forum for a game with nudity, rofl), he raged on WHOLE community, and said he wont make the guild politics forum as he promised.

Punishing whole community only because he didnt agree with few members.. way to go. He is not capable of being a mod, so I am glad he left.

He was basically a dictator of the forums until a little before OB started.. man, these were shit times..

St.Judas was a a volunteer moderator so him stepping down is no big deal IMO.

That said he was a douche, but not because of the reasons ITT. He was a douche for taking posts out fo context and infracting people for no real reason, While were at it Talwin and Stryyver are douches too. Campana is just fine.

"Oh well...I think St.Judas was unique moderator...harsh but always just...its a shame that becouse of few bored kids on the net we are loosing him as a moderator...hopefully the place will be taken by someone as good as him."

and thats really what it came down to, a few whiney bored brats decided to flame a developement team and when they got flamed back they cried like little B****es, in the name of poor customer service. it reminds me of that episode of south park where the whole episode cartman talked so tough and then at the end he gets slapped once and cries like a little baby.

you know what i wish more game companies would come out and tell talk crap to the TROLLS that infest forums like this. its funny that these trolls think that have this god given right to bash, slander and just all around drag a companies name through the mud with impunity.

but god FORBID if that company snaps back ... "OMG HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, OMG OMG OMG call the internet police, call the FBI call the better business Bureau!!!"

If the company snaps back I will not call the "internet police" - I'll just warn people away from the game.  It's a horrible customer service practice.  Just like I wouldn't visit a restaurant again if I disliked the food, complained, and the waiter chewed me out.

I'm actually happy this whole thread/forum post happened here - I know now to stay the HELL away from Mortal Online.  (I don't even know what it is, but I know enough to know that I want no part of it.  How was THAT for making an impact on a potential customer.  If they "don't want" customers like me, fine, my money spends well elsewhere, too.)

First, I don't think StJudas did the right thing by answering to the post by challenging the OP but he resigned and said he was sorry. We all make mistake and as long as you realize what you did and can apologize, you have my respect in regarding the situation. I might not give my respect to a murderer or rapist... even if he apologies... there is a line I won't cross.

I do agree that the OP was challenging the company as a customer who did / was planning to invest money into a game in an already flooded MMO world asking hard questions on the company forums. He was challenging but in no way he was irrespecful. I think a forum is a place to discuss and I think this is what he wanted to do. He did not deserve to be treated like this by others and StJudas.

Anyway, the best way to answer a cranky customer is to stay calm and answer their questions calmy. This is what we call professionalism. Giving everything to a customer even the bad one because the are a pain on the simple assumption that the customer is always right is bad. Customer is not always right and you have the right to demand respect.
